And welcome back to a long awaited episode and return of the History Of series to the channel, with The History Of Atreus!
Its been a very long time but I have been purposely shelving this episode, because It only really felt right to really do It when we finally got the release date for God Of War Ragnarok.
Now with us having learned what we have of Norse Mythos In God Of War, today I will be breaking down the origins of Atreus, the mysteries surround his destiny and of course, his journey and rise to godhood!
I also wish to point out that this will be part 1 of 2 episodes, as the second half is planned as the 'History Of Loki', In order to conclude his story and rise to the mantle!
But before we do touch on that, as always guys before this begins I would super appreciate it If we could first, get this video to about 500 likes! Kratos staying away from Atreus for being unlike him is a misconception. It was for being too much like him.

"Boy!" Portals open up and the giants march through as atreus is riding his son and atreus then shouts "to ragnorok!!"

I just recently started a new game plus and noticed that the weather is affected when Atreus goes through strong emotions and when he fell I’ll. I noticed this on the way back up the mountain during their conversation with Sindri. I also believe he has inherited the gift of foresight, when he dreamed of Thor visiting their home.
Being child of kratos. He is destined for greatness.
But Will Artreus replace Kratos as the most angry man in gaming history

3:50 great video bro but Atreus does reference the events of the God of war comic when talking about the wulvers in his journal. Something along the lines of "they are like those berserkers father took down last year, except wolves not bears".

The thing is, Atreus's mom was a full Jotun and all Jotun are descended from Ymir. So they are related, but so is every creature in the norse realms by that same logic.
Kratos: Look Boy! This is your history
This really is Atreus' story, even if Kratos is the major playable character in it that brought fans, new and old, flocking to Asgard. This game made me angry, made me cry, made me laugh all in turn, and a major source of that was watching Atreus learn and grow, as a person and as a demigod. We can only wonder what this (in)famous godling has in store for us when we take on the likes of Heimdall, Hodr, and especially Thor when November 2022 finally comes. I am praying that someone is listening to the fact that I want a cloaking spell, if not a full on disguise power, in observance of mythological Loki's reputation as a shapeshifter. There is an instance where he wore Freya's cloak of falcon feathers, another shapeshifter item, to search for Thor's hammer when it was stolen; "Freya's Unusual Wedding/The Theft of Thor's Hammer" is the same tale where Heimdall suggests Thor and Loki go in disguise as Freya and a handmaiden in order to retrieve it, core desire for subterfuge and bloodshed of the Aesir displayed in that myth but also showcases the craftiness of Loki in being able to explain away every unladylike behavior Thor exhibited.

You just recapped the entire game. I was expecting some Greek mythological history on Atreus/Loki. lol.
Whats truly nuts is BOY ends up fathering fenrir, jormungandr, and sleipnir before he fights baldur...
so he either goes back in time with angrboda and has kids, or scatters more than just jormungandr back in time, as fenrir has already given birth to skoll and haiti and they were chasing the sun and moon by the time of GOW.
Question is...does tyr already know who boy is? Has he already met him?
Or is it he only knows the sons of atreus currently? Does he know about the mural's at the giants fingers?
If so, how long has he known about The Ghost Of Sparta and what does he know of what happened to the greek pantheon? Cant wait for ragnarok! Nov 9th!!
I wonder if Atreus will truly become a god of mischief and use his illusion casting abilities. That might help him and his father in the final battle.
God of war gives me Star Wars vibes but with great more potential I just wanna see Atreus in theaters within the next five years slaying gods from every pantheon
The battle with the bear berserkers are in fact addressed in game. The codex entry for the Wulvers references them

I just had a thought, wondered how dumb it really is. We've seen kratos show a more sensitive side before the new games. Yet he's really cold to atreaus. He finally settles down and has that home life with a family, no battles, no revenge. You'd think he wouldn't seem so distant. Could he be hung up on the idea that atreaus is Odin's son, not his? You see the boy have something like a spartan rage, but Loki is a shapeshifter in mythology right? And in the mural at the end it seems like kratos is at least beaten if not killed by Atreaus. Maybe learning that his father is Odin causes that animosity toward kratos. Also the UFO videos release a few years ago were taken between 2012 and 2018, and from 2015-2017 there were clowns showing up on people's doorsteps at night. So, Killer Klowns From Outerspace could be rebooted with actual news footage now...

I’m not big on GoW, but I find Atreus’ story very interesting.
Technically Cronos,Zeus and Kratos were children of prophecy as well since they took part in the inevitable fate of overthrowing your father their bloodline has.
You could say Ares and Deimos were "False children of prophecy"

I believe Kratos was brought to Midgard by Faye to change the fate of Ragnarok, because I believe she heard from Tyr about Kratos defeating the Fates and the Gods, and that is why his name is Atreus and not Loki because he has a different dad then he did in the separate time line.. I think Jormungandr is the only character in this game from the previous time line as he was knocked back in time by Thor
The literally say that Fay wanted to name Atreus Loki but Kratos wanted that name instead. Midgard is simply Earth in Norse mythology, in this case Scandinavia and Kratos travelled there as people normally do and for the purpose of escaping his past. Corly Barlog has said that himself.

As an xbox gamer the only game im jelous of is god of war, but im curious after seing how kratos grew up he should he more understsnding of his sons rage being his son.

Will someone plz help me figure out the puzzle in jotenhiem of giants. There is a them with (HANDS). They are pointing to the floor. An also the runes on the floor is what the giants r pointing at. But idk what they say. Also Faye’s hand print also goes along with the hands them. It’s on the rock u climb up. But also it’s at the top of a POINT. then u walk up to see the dead giants. But there is one hand POINTING up at the sun directly under it. There are more clues too. But hopefully u get where I’m going ? Hidden message. Now ……. I could just be looking in to it to hard. But things seem outta place. N knowing Corey Barlog. That’s probably true. There is a hidden meaning of some kind. Hope u can help. Thx.
