Zeus is basically what the Mythology story explains and tells,however there's alot of twist and turns to the character that makes him unique that other versions of the Sky Father,seeing Zeus going Mad like Kronos is mess up while thinking about it and after his death and knowing that Kratos opening Pandora's Box turning Olympian Gods Mad only makes things worse since most of them helped Kratos and it his fault of killing his last remaining Family he has brought consequences and not knowing who's Mad or is them doing this like Ares did,this was a great video and if you think about it for all the horrendous things zeus did,Odin is much worse than Kratos Father and this Circle seems like it will never end.
I kind of wish the writers wrote Zeus the same way like keep everything's the same as in what you and HBTW said only during the climax when he's about to be killed by Kratos and Evil of Pandora's box is gone, he realizes his terrible mistakes and thus lets himself be killed and makes Kratos be better than him after he himself is long gone.

Hermes is the one who brings the dreams to the mortals when they are asleep and who personally ferries the souls of the dead to the Underworld, all at the SAME time. He also runs from a mountain range in the horizon all the way and fills cups of wine before Poseidon himself is able to even finish a sentence, and most importantly, while being injured Hermes can dodge casually the Light of Helios' sunlight burst which could illuminate the infinite Underworld. And since an injured Hermes can perform infinite speed feats, that means a healthy Hermes should have at least inaccessible. And still be a healthy Hermes too slow compared to Zeus (that's why Zeus was able to one shot Hermes casually with a single lightning strike and Hermes couldn't dodge it), because Zeus is infinitely superior, stronger, faster, and more durable than any other Olympian. Excellent breakdown of Zeus strength. I know this was a long time ago but I hope you respond. Do you think fear boosted his power? I am under the impression it didn't. I think the sprirtual avatar he used was his own ascended form like Athena's. If that is the case then Zeus is definitely the second strongest character behind hope Kratos. I think fear only made him more paranoid, it probably possessed him because it knew of his strength as he was the only being capable of sealing the evils in the box.

I was really shocked at how zeus was in the games, he was always trying to hurt kratos, always trying to kill him...to be honest, I'm glad he got what came to him...but on the other hand...I felt bad for kratos after he finished off his old man...because I had a feeling that doing that would come back to haunt him and in god of war 4 when he was in helheim, he saw an illusion of zeus and to be honest...it spooked him...😒

It's good to keep in mind that the storytelling and writing of many Greek and Norse characters tend to differ than their actual mythology at times for narrative reasons and such. But also remember that even the original myths had different interpretations depending on who told the stories. I hope to see more on the Greek saga after you do more Norse ones, especially on the likes of Athena and Ares since they had the most impact on Kratos as a character and his development throughout the games.

Athena was Zeus's daughter via his FIRST wife and his and Hera's cousin Metis a Titan that he tricked into turning into a fly and he swallowed her and she spent the 9 months building armor for Athena causing Zeus a excruciating headache and he had Hepheastus spit open his head and out hopped Athena as a fully grown goddess and sadly Metis was absorbed by Zeus granting himself more wisdom.
This was actually one of the best break downs of Zeus and really the entire story of God of War. I always thought the games could’ve done a bit better with the explanation of the story and the timeline, this is well appreciated 🤝‼️

Zeus was the only character Kratos needed the full power of a god in the form of hope to defeat. That raises the question in the god of war how strong will Odin be? Mythological has always portrayed Zeus and the top god. He is stronger than his entire pantheon combined in physical might and was able to overcome typhoon who was basically the Olympian gods ragnorok. Odin isn’t the strongest, that goes to Thor and Vidar who’s strength was second to Thor. Odin wasn’t able to over come his killer Fenrir like Zeus could typhoon. Odin is however more magically proficient and he is dangerously cunning.

One thing I’ve always been curious about is why didn’t Zeus just confront Kratos with all the remaining Gods after Hades death? We can assume no God besides Hades is permitted into Hell, but once Kratos returns, why don’t they confront him? Kratos is the only person left to fight the war, and instead of facing him, all the gods face him one on one for no explainable reason beyond. Edit: Another thing that bugs me is how severely nerfed the gods are in GoW after the first one. Ares literally created a portal that transported Kratos into some kind of galaxy realm and nearly lost despite being imbued with the power of multiple gods over the course of the game. And then in GoW 3 Kratos manages to kill the 2nd most powerful god after loses all his powers in the river styx.

I know Kratos wanted to stop sons killing fathers, but what about fathers killing and enslaving their children as well. That seems to be a problem in this universe.
I question the Helhiem vision because the Eagle reacts to Zeus then focuses on Kratos. I feel like maybe Zeus as a god, descended to a lower astro form. Like purgatory, but in Helhiem he has the strength to speak out.

Once again Zeus and Odin are similar. Zeus attacked the Titans, and Odin ordered the killing of the Giants. Both of them learned of some prophecy of their demise by a specific person and hunted after them. Just like zeus, odin will probably die by Kratos.

Regarding the marked warrior, when Ares took deimos, kratos tried attacking Ares and get his brother back and ares used his weapon and hit kratos which marked his left eye. This is where he was marked and the prophecy was then self fulfilled and kratos tattooed his body in memory of brother while having the scar on his eye.
Probably Odin would win but if The Roman Catholic Virgin Mary had powers she probably beat some of the Greek Gods like Hera and Athena and Icarus but probably not Hercules and Zeus and Odin who knows.
Unlike in mythology Zeus's affairs eventually backfired on him in the God of War universe since cheating on Hera with Callisto conceived Kratos who killed him and the other Olympians and destroyed Olympus itself.

GOW2 and 3 are the most badass games I’ve ever played…and I’ll also add GOW (Norse) Kratos’ story overall, is awesome.

Mythological has always portrayed Zeus and the top god. He is stronger than his entire pantheon combined in physical might and was able to overcome typhoon who was basically the Olympian gods ragnorok. Odin isn’t the strongest, that goes to Thor and Vidar who’s strength was second to Thor. Odin wasn’t able to over come his killer Fenrir like Zeus could typhoon. Odin is however more magically proficient and he is dangerously cunning.
I don’t think kratos fights Odin , kratos already killed an entire pantheon and he knows what would happen to Midgard. He’s teaching atreus to be better I doubt he wipes out the Norse pantheon

Gotta say man. You Captain Kubal's videos on the God of War franchise are fantastic. True, ares was born through Zeus and Hera. Making him the first child of the king and queen of olympus. Athena on the other hand was born from the head of zeus. Witch hephaestus had to help crack open.

First time ever looking at your video. You’ve explained the history of the game God of War very well. However, loved the presentation on the channel and continue making progress. Stay safe and blessed.
One thing I’ve always been curious about is why didn’t Zeus just confront Kratos with all the remaining Gods after Hades death? We can assume no God besides Hades is permitted into Hell, but once Kratos returns, why don’t they confront him? Kratos is the only person left to fight the war, and instead of facing him, all the gods face him one on one for no explainable reason beyond.
Edit: Another thing that bugs me is how severely nerfed the gods are in GoW after the first one. Ares literally created a portal that transported Kratos into some kind of galaxy realm and nearly lost despite being imbued with the power of multiple gods over the course of the game. And then in GoW 3 Kratos manages to kill the 2nd most powerful god after loses all his powers in the river styx.

Ever since Kratos was a PS exclusive guest character back in MK9, I’ve wanted a crossover MK x GoW fighting game.
I know Kratos wanted to stop sons killing fathers, but what about fathers killing and enslaving their children as well. That seems to be a problem in this universe.
I question the Helhiem vision because the Eagle reacts to Zeus then focuses on Kratos. I feel like maybe Zeus as a god, descended to a lower astro form. Like purgatory, but in Helhiem he has the strength to speak out.

Once again Zeus and Odin are similar. Zeus attacked the Titans, and Odin ordered the killing of the Giants. Both of them learned of some prophecy of their demise by a specific person and hunted after them. Just like zeus, odin will probably die by Kratos.

Regarding the marked warrior, when Ares took deimos, kratos tried attacking Ares and get his brother back and ares used his weapon and hit kratos which marked his left eye. This is where he was marked and the prophecy was then self fulfilled and kratos tattooed his body in memory of brother while having the scar on his eye.
Just like Odin, Zeus sought to control everyone and everything around him to prevent a prophecy, only to cause it.

Unlike in mythology Zeus's affairs eventually backfired on him in the God of War universe since cheating on Hera with Callisto conceived Kratos who killed him and the other Olympians and destroyed Olympus itself.
