Its History Behind The Warrior and welcome to yet another god of war video!
Whilst we’ve been talking a fair bit about the norse series of games and the mysteries surround Faye, today we’re gonna be going back In time, to the where It all started, back to the realm of the Olympian gods.
With us having already having covered Zeus, It felt only right to cover about another member of Olympus’s big three, the king of the underworld and first child of the titan Cronos, Hades!
Now just before we wrap up here I just wanted to apologise for the irregular upload schedule!
By the time this video goes up Ill actually be In Orlando florida commentating the final big tournament for Mortal kombat 11!
So Im super sorry their will only be one upload for this week, but don’t worry as once Im back I have a ton of new content on the way, I don’t typically reveal my upload schedule, but seeing as I wont be present when this goes up, It only seems fair that I let you know what the next videos will be on the channel, so the schedule will be the following, Where will Kratos god next? The History Of Mimir and the History Of Athena!

Hades was probably the closest in ways and intentions to Kratos. Both have a similar fighting style and weapons, both seeking revenge for their family members.
I loved this character design. Hades had one of the best weapons and his boss fight was legendary.

I dunno, i suppose in this universe it works but it doesn't really capture who Hades is as a person.
Most greeks feared him because he didn't apply to everyday life like the other olympians did and out of fear of death.
If you look at the og greek myths again, Hades is not only not a serial rapist/adulterer like his bros and most of the other olympians,
he's also genuinely interested in the happiness and well being of his wife Persephone,
and was genuinely moved by Orpheus's music and allowed him the possibility of seeing Eurydice again if his faith was strong enough (spoiler alert it wasn't).
@@generalhorse493 That's why Hades' design is great in God of war. His looks make him feared, but by personality, he's actually a pretty decent guy.

Fun fact: while Zeus’s gift was the lighting bolt and Poseidons being the trident, Hades gift was actually a helmet that made him invisible. I guess developers thought that was lame and we’re like *PFF SOUL SUCKING CLAWS*
However the attention given to the design of his furnace helmet in this game leads me to believe they still wanted to incorporate that
I thought it was the helmet of fear which struck terror in anyone who saw it also remember Kratos could not see him or hear his footsteps while he was in the same room until after he tried to take his sole
Honestly the gods were kinda already monsters even before pandoras box was opened seeing that they bett on people's lives in combat for their amusement because of stuff they cause like famine and war

He was one of the better characters quite simply.Actually showed lots of emotion for his brother and nieces death(Zeus didnt give a thunders worth of shit),still grieved over his wife even though she tried to kill literally everyone(which includes him)unlike so many he never ducked Kratos(true he wouldnt challenge him as the true god of war but even Zeus and the whole Olympus wouldnt try shit at that point)even after he killed his brother Poseidon who was as strong and even stronger than he was.Plus the way he faced his own father was BADASS,Cronos was totally losing until Atlas interveved.
Even in the original myths he is still one of the better gods and nothing like he is portayed in media

Out of all the Gods in the Franchise,Hades is the most terrifying and nightmarish one of them all as well as Kronos Son,is a shame we don't get to see more of him,but he did put a huge impact in the series with a Weapon that would give the Blades of Chaos a run of it's money,whatever of those choices comes next,it world still be worth the wait.
Most terrifying of Cronos' sons?....I'm pretty sure that title goes to me

Loved Hades design and power up from God of War and God of War 3. Sad we don't get more of him and other gods like Poseidon and Hermes. All of those characters would have been solid additions to Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and even Accession.
His "Army of Hades" magic in GOW1 was ths best power.
Both mortal kombat and GOW are my FAVORITE franchises in all of gaming.

Hades is the only one who fights with the same style that kratos uses
So I just thought of something terrifying off the top of my head. OK so it's canon at this point that Kratos didn't kill every olympian and worst of all the blade of olympus was just left on the battlefield at the end of God of War 3. Why do I have a feeling that we're going to have to deal with a pissed off, let's say, Artemis at some point.

@@derronbirch2412 I was just using Artemis as an example It would be up to the designers how they decide the hierarchy without all of the big gods
Though Kratos didn't kill all the Olympians directly in God Of War 3 the implication is that they all died off screen from the Chaos caused by killing likes of Poseidon, Hades, Hermes, Helios and especially Zeus since its implied by both Poseidon and Athena that if Zeus dies all the other Olympians will die as well and this makes sense since Zeus is the God in charge of governing order throughout the Greek Realm, with him dead it would mean that there would be no more order and that the Greek world would be thrown back into chaos resulting in the end of all Grecian Life including the Olympian, not to mention when Kratos killed Gaia her corpse collapsed on Mount Olympus destroying the palace in the process so the other Olympian Gods such as Aphrodite most likely got crushed to death by Gaia's corpse....so based on this Kratos didn't kill all the Greek Gods directly, he killed all the rest of them indirectly through all yhe chaos he was causing, it's just that their deaths got offscreened, also Artemis only made ome debut throughout the entirety of the God Of War franchise and that was in God Of War 1, a game that came out 17 years ago after that she was never seen again, so her chances of returning are slimer to none now that we're in an entirely different Pantheon and because it's implied all the Greek Gods were killed off directly and indirectly from Kratos' wreckage in God Of War 3
@@thatguynamedzeus5091 Actually it's confirmed that some of the olympians are still alive as are some humans. I can't remember if it was the studio or Corey himself who confirmed that but somebody did.
@@fearthepiggaming2998 Cory Barlog and other God Of War developers confirmed that the human society in Greece is still alive due to Kratos giving them the power of "Hope" but they never said they're still Greek Gods that are alive
I really do love Hades design in this game.🤩
One of the most terrified and memorable boss fights in God of War series from start to finish. True terror comes when the Hades tries to snatch Kratos 's soul from the jump which I was really surprised and never done in a video game. Talking about fighting for your life! I felt that my soul was in stake when fight Hades. You really feel that there's a personal goal, the stakes are high against Hades.. Hades voice, appearance, music, and the hellish underworld atmospheric background is the stuff of extreme nightmares that makes the boss fight epic!
Hades was a tough god for kratos to fight...it was intense but in the end kratos won...hades death was crazy, he had his soul extracted by kratos when he had the blades of hades and just like that, it was over...😑😌
Hades would destroy most iterations of Kratos(except Full god giant Kratos and End of GoW2 to Gow3).Even the new one would get wrecked until he went in Spartan Rage mode cause thats confirmed as similar to his gow3 peak by Cory
Hades also was overpowering Cronos back in the war,not saying Kratos didnt surpass him but it was a long way from needing special weapons to fight shit tier gods like Persephone al the way to overpowering the big 3 bros,people are just too much on this kratos was always almightly god myth Cory has put out
@@newhybrid101 idk man if gow3 kratos can defeat hades without Spartan rage then I’m pretty sure gow4 kratos would have no problem. Especially since the gow4 version is the strongest out of all of them

Uh guys it’s been confirmed by Cory that GoW 4 Kratos is the strongest version of him. The only reason he seemed weaker was because he was hiding who he “was” from Atreus. After fully bonding with him he’s stronger than he ever was before.
Hades wasn't really much of tough for Kratos at all, even when Hades attempted to catch Kratos off guard and steal his soul Kratos just used his immense wrestled his soul out of Hades' grip and thwarted him back....Hades couldn't faze Kratos at all lmao, Kratos pretty much bodied Hades with no difficultly, Hercules had put up a better fight against Kratos than Hades did
Hades another iconic character in this universe.
We all know Mimir was once the trickster Puck or Robin Goodfellow from the realm of King Arthur and served the Fairy King Oberon and Fairy Queen Titania. He tells you in GOW that he's from another land and how fun it was to pull pranks and mess with mortals til his master was done with him. He could be the catalyst to turn Atreus into the God of Mischief by his influence

Hades weapon was my favorite in the game but also the most under utilized

hades is most liked god in mythology he did 2 or 3 relly bad thing but he isnt necesery evil but damn gow did him so awsime my favorite design by far

Hold on a minute, Hades soul is in his claw weapons, which I think controls and grasp souls. If I’m right, Athena and Zeus also have “souls” as we see in GOW3 (sorry for not knowing what the name of the gods soul form is) and when Kratos used Hades claws he also ripped out his soul. So technically speaking, when Kratos finally stabbed Zeus and gets much of his gear damaged, yeah maybe hades claws are damaged, but is the underworld god’s soul also destroyed? If not, he could be still out there in the mythology universe, probably looking for Kratos.
Thanks for covering more of the Greek part! I love GoW, but still hadn't the opportunity to play the new one, so I could not support most of your new videos. But I still like what you're doing, so please don't stop!
God I wish we can get Hades,Zeus, and Poseidon back in a game, I miss those Gods. It’ll be so cool to see them in the new direction the GOW games are going

The early days of kratos when he still served the gods would be awesome. It be fun seeing the gods be all arrogant and bossey not knowing what lies a head.

Hades is the God of the DEAD, not Death. The God of Death is Thanatos, who Kratos killed in Ghost Of Sparta.

Actually, Hades was the first SON of Rhea and Cronos. The first CHILD of Rhea and Cronos was actually Hestia, the goddess of the hearth.
