Welcome back to yet another God Of War video!
With us having covered Kratos and Baldur, It felt only right to go back to were It all started, so lets talk about the character that enslaved Kratos and bestowed him with the Blades of Chaos, A son of zeus and brother to Athena, Ares!
Now to really dive deep into Ares's origins, we must first go back to the original series of games and talk about his role as a god In Olympus!
And what exactly came from his time In the pantheon, what finally made the God Of War Snap?

Ares is such a fascinating character and villain in the God of War franchise that the inspirations are similar to Quan Chi,the only difference is that both Ares and Kratos are half brothers and Sons of Zeus that shares alot in common that the might think,all in all great video and I will wait for the next one next week.

Ares really messed with the wrong one doing that to Kratos. Without Ares these games wouldn't be a thing.
But Kratos gave his life to Aries so he should've expected the worse when he was about to be decapitated by the Barbarian King

@@thunderbolte711 It's just one of the consequences that came with it he knew how bad the gods were and also he was killing other children and women but when it came to his family Aries crossed the line lol this doesn't take away how bad ass Kratos was it's just something I think about
Ares was iconic in the god of war universe see you in the next one.
The GOW games definitely has the best looking versions of the Greek Pantheon. I do like how Ares has the white skin just like Kratos.
And Kratos had a goatee similar to Ares
Ares is the Son of Zeus and Hera which makes him also the Prince of Olympus along with him having a claim to the throne plus he’s the older brother of Hephaestus and older half brother to Kratos did you mention that

I love everything about him. His armor. His hair. Even his voice. I would simp for Ares 100%
A wonderful breakdown, I grew up with this series and new about several of these easter eggs. I didn't know about the cult of Ares or where the god had been laid to rest. Very nicely done as always.
I get the cult, but how didn't you notice his massive body? Guess you were just immersed in playing lol.
It's a cool Easter Egg though.
@@EL-ISS Probably I also only played through God of War 3 I think was where Ares grave was, once and it was when it came out.
Ares may have fallen but he ultimately still got what he wanted at the cost of Kratos humanity
Indeed. He still got what he wanted. Just not in the way he intended. Which is quite ironic. But he will always be my all time favourite baddie.
He'd love it if he knew that.
He succeeded in bringing Olympus down in the end, by employing Kratos.

Ares is also the most evil villain in the GoW series so far given how he's responsible for Kratos being the god killer he is.
I'd argue Zeus is worse as he drove Ares to such a dark path
@@SnakeRoadComicsOfficial3677 no he didn't Ares was evil from the start while Zeus was consumed by fear aka one of the evils in Pandora's box which means that Zeus was essentially not in complete control over himself while Ares was fully aware of his actions.
@@chadpeterson5698 I concur. Ares greed and cowardice caused the evils of Pandoras box be loosed on the gods of Greece.
@@cult_of_odin and he turned Kratos into the monster he was back then which means that quite a bit of Kratos's crimes can be traced back to Ares, that means the slaughter of the gods, the casualties of an incalculable amount of people and Ares directly made Kratos kill his own family. Ares has also treated his own son like garbage, decimated entire cities for fun, and played a game with the lives of Kratos's family before he manipulated Kratos into killing them anyway. ( all of this alone makes anyone who says that Ares fails the heinous standard of the God of War franchise a big fat liar)
@@chadpeterson5698 Zeus was never a good person since he cheated on Hera constantly, kidnapped Kratos' brother Deimos because of a prophecy, and literally tortured the titan Prometheus in the most grotesque way possible for giving fire to the mortals.

I’m not a hardcore fan, but I used to have toys of certain characters before watching the movies. I remembered Toa characters like Tahu, Nokama, even the ice Inika, Matoro. So yeah, I grew up with Bionicle stuff☺️
That was actually cool to see his giant body encased in glass in GOW 3

This is a wild speculation but what if Ares is truly alive when the evils were released by the Olympians and now rules Asgard in a different identity by simply changing his name to Odin?
So we also have History of Zues and Athena until the new game comes out.
I also love he's doing other games besides fighting games I hope he keeps doing that.
What if this was Ares’s plan all along! He never forget the prophecy of a marked warrior that will lead to the destruction of Olympus and crafted Kratos knowing he may perish by his hands if he succeed.

Even in death Ares drove a wedge between Kratos and Deimos with Deimos hating his brother for not saving him from Ares.

Not quite. But I do understand what you mean. The box had the power of hope. That hope is what Kratos needs to take on Ares. Since Ares is using his godly size, kratos needs that size to fight him. That's what hope gives him.

@@barebevil. Ares and Zeus is pretty equal imo. But Zeus had the upper hand from the start being a smarter, more allies and and having the blade of Olympus. But Ares with Pandora's Box certainly put fear in Zeus.
Baldur would win since he doesn't feel pain and he is invulnerable. But if he loses that power, then Ares would outright stomp him.
Zeus, Odin, baal and Jupiter are all the same entity. ashatan satan just with a different mask.
