    Fantastic lessons, super clear and super funky!
    Question for you and community: what weight pick do you recommend, especially for fast, syncopated skank strumming? The reason I'm asking is that lighter picks seem much easier, but don’t want to be limited to them when mixing in melodic fills.

    • @TastyGuitarcom
      @TastyGuitarcom  Год назад +1

      I used a pretty heavy Clayton 1.52 teardrop. It's all personal preference really but I prefer the punchy attack and tone I get with heavy picks. I suggest you also check out my lesson "this technique hurts.." for another Technique for skank strumming

    The closet term for your slide is glissando /ɡlɪˈsandəʊ/ Learn to pronounce
    Music noun: glissando; plural noun: glissandi; plural noun: glissandos
    Defined as; a continuous slide upwards or downwards between two notes. The difference here is your slides are brief.
    BTW Nice palying

    I'm a noob guitarist. I read some music for piano. Should I even bother with tabs? Or learn both while I progress. For sax I prefer just reading the music and re writing it in letters lol. And for harmonica I prefer a tab system they use. I could probably learn guitar tabs too just wondering

    • @TastyGuitarcom
      @TastyGuitarcom  4 года назад

      Tab only gets you so far, you need to at least be able to read note values in notation to understand the duration of notes which tab alone doesn't give you.

    How can I improve my funk tone? Using a strat in clean neck pickup with compression

    • @TastyGuitarcom
      @TastyGuitarcom  4 года назад

      There is no one way to get "funk tone" alot of it is personal preference. I myself dont use compression as I feel it kills dynamics. I like to have my clean tone on the edge of breakup with a good tube amp, even eq, not too bright, nice mids and not muddy. A little reverb. At least that's what works for me.
