@@mikebelcher5111 Hey Mike ... yeah, my late father bought me the 1990 model Mazda 626 sedan in Prestige Silver Metallic colour, back in 1990 for my 18 birthday and as a bribe for me to go to University!! Lol!! He bought it brand new, fully imported from Japan (he paid 32,000 Australian dollars for it back then!)... I live in Melbourne, Australia! In fact it is an Automatic 2.2i. I have never had a problem with it in 32 years and after 310,000 miles !!!!!!!!! ... still drives like a dream, like new! Its unreal ... and l absolutely will NEVER part with this car, for both sentimental reasons and my absolute love for this car. I have religiously taken it to get it serviced (oil change and general maintenance) every 6 months (absolutely without fail!) over the course of its current 32 years. Every mechanic tells me my car is never going to die ... it is in incredible condition. None of them can believe it.
I recently purchased a new 2022 Mazda 3 sedan. I had to wait 8 months for it to arrive here in Melbourne, from Japan .... and am also absolutely thrilled to own the Mazda 3 too. It is a stunning car!!!
I now drive both cars as my daily driver ... a couple of days a week in my '90 Mazda 626 and a couple of days a week in my new 2022 Mazda 3.
Like l said, as long as l live, l will never ever, ever part with my Mazda 626. LOVE IT BEYOND WORDS!!! It even has the famous oscillating vents!!!
If anything ever failed in the car, l am lucky to have some experts here in Melbourne (company called 'ALLMAZ') who deal with all things Mazda related and who have over 1 million Mazda parts from models of the 70s, 80s and 90s.
My 1990 Mazda 626 is a phenomenal car and absolutely incredible. So happy l own and drive this retro beauty.

I'm a Toyota fan, but I have to say I'm honestly pretty impressed with the build quality of modern Mazdas. They're good value for the fit and finish, as well as the material costs. It seems like after their partnership with Toyota they really improved a lot of their production and methods. The CX-5s and Mazda 3s/6s seem to be made very well and have held up decently from the consensus of most owners.

I love my AWD CX-5 I just leased 5 months ago. Just pissed that because of the stupid Teslas hogging the chips and being partially responsible for causing the chip shortage, I lost two standard features I really wanted: 1). The power lift gate and 2). The 10 speaker Bose audio. It drives and handles phenomenally but could do a little better on the gas milage.

@@jonwoodworker Correlation versus causation, I am simply saying that in recent years, especially the last 3-5 years Mazda has really stepped up their quality, even if it was before their partnership with Toyota. But even then, it was a wise partnership to share technology with the two companies, Toyota is still one of the largest manufacturers in the world so it still benefits Mazda to share their production line with them. There's no need to get in a frenzy about it.

When she turned 16, I gave her the car for her birthday (only 12K miles on it). To my surprise, she took her drivers test in this car and passed on her first attempt. The DMV inspector said it was the only girl in her 10 years of working at the DMV that had taken the test in a manual trans. Made my day. I also own a 2022 MX-5 RF Grand Touring in Platinum Quartz. Also, my father had a 2017 Mazda 6, loved it so much he got a newer 2020 right off the showroom floor and the improvement with the ride comfort, quieter interior, touching up of the front and rear and extra standard features more than justified the new purchase. I talked to someone just the other day with the same 6 and he said “dude I thought I was crazy because it was the same gen, but now I can rest better at night!” I also LOVE the Sport mode for merging because it holds the passing gear JUST right, really taking the anxiety out of the whole ordeal.
My only minor complaint is the visibility out the back isn’t what I’d like it to be but it’s not a dealbreaker as you get standard back up camera and rear cross traffic alert. But I love his car, it’s much more fun to drive over my 04 Accord and I might get one over the new Camrys I’ve been looking at.

I had an '05 3 Touring hatchback 5 spd and, unlike the 6, it was my favorite car ever. It never had any problems and felt faster than the numbers showed. The shifter was also better than the one in the 6 due to the linkages being lined with Kevlar. I still miss that car.

We have them here in Japan and we love them! I drive a 2015 Atenza Skyactiv diesel. They did not discontinue the Atenza in all markets, just the US.
I've only ever driven Mazdas for 25 years. And as long as they keep making them, I'll drive them 25 more.

      @TJsVette Год назад

@E G I did all regular maintenance (coolant, transmission and spark plugs) at the scheduled times for it. Oil changes every 5k miles with full synthetic.
The only 2 issues I ever had was my brake master went out around the 200k mile marker as well as the coolant piping that went into the motor (gasket swelled and it started leaking) both were super easy fixes. Other than that no issues. Car was a great running car.

They are the cheapest cars to maintain. About $120- $150 every 5000-6000 miles is all it costs. Basically an oil change.
Transmissions are maintenance free, so, as it appears, are the drivetrains
The turbos get an oil change every 5000 miles, the others more like 6000 - 7000.

I'm on my 3rd mazda3: New '05 3i, 289k miles, son wrecked it and insurance totaled it. Used '09 3s GT, 266k miles, wife wrecked it and insurance totaled it. Used '15 3i GT, 81k miles, still going strong (not wrecked yet, fingers crossed). All manual transmission since I don't know how to drive an automatic trans! I like the smaller size of the 3 so I've never even looked at a 6. Will be getting my wife a CX5 this year. I think that says it all regarding my opinion of Mazda.

I'm definitely the kind of guy that prefers a standard 5 speed transmission. I also tend to like Mazdas as I've got a 97 Kia sephia that has the Mazda BP 1.8 liter DOHC engine (same engine used in the Miata and Protege) with over 340,000 miles of hard driving on it. Aside from some electrical problems (it is a Kia) it still runs pretty good. It's cool to see Mazda and Toyota joining together to make excellent cars. Thank you Scotty for all that you do and always updating us with the truth.❤️❤️
