I'd keep that 390 in there, that's plenty of power for what you need. A good street truck cruiser, and it sounds Awesome!! Keep posting Vids of this build. Can't wait👍👍
great job...what brought me here is im doing a very similar project 1972 f100 and im building a 390 stroker, so im subscribed and have watched all your videos. i wish i had your garage with the lift and all your equipment....id be done by now. keep the videos coming.
Explorer rear differential is off center. It is commonly used in cars and narrowed by cutting off the long end of the axle tube in order to make both axle tubs the same length.
Love the truck bro. But I still don't understand why folks use x-pipes, y-pipes or crossovers and think they are running true duals. Your not. True duals are totally separated pipes from each header. No cats, or 02 sensors. Whatever you like though I reckon.
You know how hard is to find someone like you where i live? My god, how good you can do it to my 69! Wish learn has much as you, and got the tools to experiment! but today im far for that.
I didn't know Matt Damon was a mechanic. lol. Neat truck, enjoy the series of videos. Not really a ford guy, but do have a 21k mile 1974 f100 4x4 I picked up from the original owners family. Had a couple other fe's over the years. A 352 and a 361.
Similar to what I'm doing with my Lincoln, same parts however I'm doing tails and for those I'm using modified 1996 Impala SS over axle pipes And using Dynomax Race bullets. However I don't have a welder yet and I really don't want to have to rely on friends to get it done.
Nice job on the exhaust build. But for your sake , use safety glasses when cuttting and grinding on pipes and under the truck. Remember, you only have 2 eyes. Can you afford to loose one? I speak from experience , if I didn't have my glasses on i could have lost an eye, Thanks god i didn't. Just looking out for you bud. At the end of the video when running the engine , it sounds great , I noted the the wheels are black as earlier they were white . Either changed them or repaint them. looks good. Love the step by step explanation.
I genuinely do worry about losing some subscribers with an engine swap. If I can't sell the 390, I will find another Ford vehicle to put it in... and of course make videos about it!

Why an X and not an H? There's no way I'd get all that done in 4 hours. Nice job! If you swap that 390 out and are looking for a buyer I would take it.
330_Garage can’t wait to see how it does. I’ve been tackling the interior of mine and did some mods to the dash bezel that ended up looking really nice - very sleek and polished if you’d like some ideas. Also, I found a someone online who does quality upholstery work exclusively for these old trucks if you need the info, she was a breeze to work with and has great reviews.
After I find out how much horse power this 390 makes.. its going to need more! I find that I like to build them more than drive them, so we'll just make this an ongoing science experiment
@@330_garage3 Bro- been following since you yanked it out of its earthly entaglements. That engine is rad! Look forward to all your new videos- Great job!
X pipes and H pipes both do basically the same thing. They equalise the exhaust pressure and this helps with torque, especially at the lower end of the rev range. They also affect the sound and make it drone less.
Did you say SWAP , you said 'engine swap'..... Why would you go though all the work building that beautiful motor and engineering that exhaust if you're going to swap out the motor? That 390 is perfect for that truck, period correct and all. Please say it ain't happening.
330_Garage oh man, I don't know what to think. Finish that sweet truck then do another one , maybe an 80's or 92-96 F150, they look pretty cool with their tapered or rounded fronts. That truck is a 'classic'. 💙 #BlueOval
Great video! We appreciate your business.
Ahhhh, slightly off-center....story of my life.
Great work as always man!
That sounds really good. ‘Fear’ begins with FE.
HAHA I like it
Also he has all the tools and machines. Lol
The exhaust sounds amazing!
How do I delete this comment?? I just got my wife convinced I don't have enough tools! haha
i done my exhaust with a 4" cut off on axle stands and a welder not to bad , although a lift would of been handy!
Great job bud! you brought that truck back from the dead
your bringing back memories 1969 f250 was my first truck when i was a teenager sounds good great job
Sounds great!

This can be great practice for many people! You make it look easy! Not the case for everyone depending on skill level!
I will need to do the same thing for my 56 f100 it was helpful to watch this video.
Perfect! Glad it was helpful. I was really happy with the finished product, the sound the fit, everything!
Coming along great. I just love this truck! Nice job explaining how you did everything.
Your videos do a great job explaining!! I plan on using your frame cutting video to shorten my lwb 67 f250.
Band saw is a handy tool to have in the shop
Hey kiddo, keep up the awesome work and the great videos!
Awesome job man. Really interested in seeing how far you take this project.
Looks good and sounds great. Keep up the work and good in depth videos! It wont take long for your channel to get big.
Great job so far...looking and sounding fantastic!
Awesome video.
Sounding fantastic man!
Smart kid. DAMN nice shop!

good info. There are a few good RUclips videos out there on how-to modify the 8.8 like that
Sounds great. A nice hollow throaty burble!
Looks and sounds real nice..you should put wide back wheels and tires on it
Excellent work man!
Great sound.
Heck Yeah
Good Deal.
Keepem coming

I loved the zip tie trick! I've never seen that before.

Oddly I forgot I watched it so rewatched and picked up a lot so I wasn't paying attention before/LOL
hahaha glad the original video covered it!

Do not change the 390 out, or I’m not watching ur vids, u gotta keep the 390 man

like a snarling lion
For a basically new engine, that thing sure does seem to put out the smoke....
I filled it with diesel, so it rolls coal like that. haha kidding... I think its just running rich off idle.
All you need now is a five speed
did you say motor swap? hugh?
Engine swap?!?! Why?! Lol. Ready to see it if thats what you wand to do though!
Why an X and not an H? There's no way I'd get all that done in 4 hours. Nice job! If you swap that 390 out and are looking for a buyer I would take it.
Deal! I actually plan to dyno it, drive it around a bit and then sell it to fund the next engine

You need wider tires on the back
Also, keep up the build and upgrade to a Crown Vic front end , improving ride and handling . That twin I beam really has to go.
Put a four speed top loader or better yet Tremec five speed,
A word of advice. Don’t do this. 😂. Great video
He really trust this big jack to stay under the truck
What state are you from?
Texas
Is that a bolt on exhaust or did you have to do any welding to install it? Looks good and sounds awesome!👍
Engine swap!!!!??? You just did that!!

Dumb question. Is there purpose to the exhaust making an x? New to a lot of this
It helps pull the exhaust out better an sounds different

@@Amy-wh3dt ok thanks.
Thanks for the replies. Had. A feeling but was not sure
Dude!! Why you wanna swap the dam engine after all that work you did on that one?🤨 dont do it bro. 😂💪🤜🤛

hahaha how else are we going to make 600hp to the tire?!?
