Watching these videos while I wait for my new high flow cats haha. I did a wild custom exhaust on my Dodge ram 1500, haven't seen anyone do what I've done. I did a dual exhaust and cut out the y pipe from the cats to run the pipes straigt back on each side of the transmission. Now if you know these rams, they have the exhaust tunnel on the passenger side. I customized my truck to fit the driver side exhaust on the driver side. Then ran a 3 inch x pipe system for a 5.0 mustang voodoo behind the transmission and transfer case and above the driveshaft and out the side of the bed. I just installed BBK long tube headers and learned real quick my stock cats will not work with how I setup the exhaust system no matter how I modified the angles on the cats. So I ordered smaller high flow cats cause they are shorter and a smaller diameter to clear my driveshaft and stay away from the transmission so everything clears and fits back together. Its been a whole ass project installing these headers lol
I just ordered a kit like this a few days ago, hasn't even arrived yet, then you doing Wago helped me find this channel. I look through your videos and found this! Good job BTW I hope mine comes out as nice as yours.
Thanks so much for this video. Am upgrading my exhaust system, but definitely not to this level and getting a shop to do it. Just bought down pipes and an x pipe to improve the sound and performance.
Looks good for a diy project. It’s good that you don’t have anything in the way from pulling it all in one piece other wise I would say you should have put a flange on it. I used to paint the welds with silver paint to keep them from rusting . Good work 👍🏻🤙🏻
Ik this is a year later but I finally got my equal length headers done. I get alot of people stunned because of the huge bulge of pipes poking out behind the front wheels, I love it they make my cam sound even better
Hey man! PLEASE READ: I have a nearly mint condition 1983 Honda Accord sedan and want to LS swap it but I dont weld and don't know how much that kind of project would cost. Just hoping you or anyone reading this with swap knowledge could answer my questions! My Accord was inherited and garage kept, no rust and 150k original miles on it! Fully red interior and is getting wrapped in a metallic aqua blue. ALSO: I LOVE YOUR CONTENT IT IS INCREDIBLE BRO, KEEP IT COMING!
Hey man! It’s near impossible to estimate what this would cost because the amount of time it would take can vary. Also depends on if you went with a donor car like I did. You would need to consider cost of a full additional car plus labor to adapt the car to work with donor cars stuff.
Awesome Job as usual dude!....I am actually getting a full redo on my current exhaust of 4 or 5 years ago...Some shop I went to did some "ghetto" Booger welds and been driving around these 4 years or so with a tiny Exhaust Leak someplace!!....Can't wait to get this done correctly!!
@@BodeVision I have a question so I have a muffler delete on my car and I bought an aftermarket exhaust an had it welded on to the rest of my stock pipe so I was wondering if I cut off my resonator and clamped on a 2.5 inch straight pipe would that make any difference in the sound of my car like make it louder then just the muffler delete or what would that do?
I'm not a welder but I do like to tinker with my car. Been wanting to do mine as well but I only have a cheap welder that leaves scags that have to be cleaned up. Kinda intimidating, don't know if I'm brave enough to show it on my channel 😅 Nice work brotha 👍🏽.
Lovin your work Bode you are one talented guy, seems like you have the gift of being able to see the finished article in your head before it's even started which makes it easier. That beast sounds awesome 👏👊👍 John UK
Man did the same on my first exhaust for my nova. Pie cuts an a couple are sharp bends and no flex joints. . Going to be redoing mine too. Also look into putting some flex joints because you will be going through some header gaskets.. ask me how I know.
I did a custom dual exhaust on my o7 silversdo myself in 2.5 days. It took longer extracting the header bolts to replace the manifold than it did to the rest of the exhaust haha. I had to tac weld out cylinder 8 5 times cus the bolt kept breaking off. In the head.
Thank god for youtube and helpfull people like this. I want to remove the rear muffles on my C63S, but buying a Milltek pair costs 2200 USD per pair. Thats a fucking steal and i hate how all the aftermarket stuff are so expensive to cars like this. Im just a regular 9-5 guy so building a custom exhaust is my only option
Love the video bro! Think the welding was slightly off (based on how you are meant to weld two pieces of metal together vs what you did). Otherwise top video!
Great vid man. I was wondering on systems where the mid muffler and end muffler are deleted. What is the difference in sound when you place an aftermarket muffler(s) in the mid section versus at the very back of the car?
I know this is kind of late, but could you also cut the two pieces at a slight angle so that the exhaust gas from the two pipes merge easier or is this neglectable/ would it have any benefits ?
Looks good Adam 💪🏽😎 sounds nice also 👍 I wish you have sponsorship to hook you up with a lift that would helpful with the work you do that would be easier on the road to 💯k 👌
Great job, you should have went with 3" on the single pipe. Whenever you go from 2 pipes to a single, rhe single should always be larger, look at all factory y sections. It will work, but reduces horsepower. Sounds great though.
Sounds great and I really enjoyed watching the process.. you make it seem simple. Merch idea maybe? Do what you can, with what ya got! 😁 it's like a DIY Anthem
i was fucklin around adn builind my exuahst i ran into so many problems let alone the fitment was a main problem becasue i didnt measure but at thje end of the day i got it all done and it looks and sounds so much better
Brooooooo You’re famous now!!!!!! I was just looking up how to do a good exhaust & you piped up! Fantastic Job on everything!!! Hope alls well bro! #Deanrd
You’ve inspired me to redo mine. As a welder, seeing the welds that I paid for upsets me all the time
What type of machine / machine would you recommend a beginner use for something like this?
@@solidsnake1120 tig welder
exactly the type of system for my '93 chev. pickup, thanks
I done my first year and feel I’m capable. Quick question. Do you you think a little flux core Amazon machine is decent enough for the job
@@williamdon3442 no go with either tig or mig the flux will burn trough and it gives ugly welds
Your the first you tuber to explain the mathematical theory on how to make a custom y pipe thanks for doing that!!
if you wrap a large zip tie around any pipe, straight or curved.. and mark it with a sharpy.. you can cut nice clean straight lines around the pipe
solid pro tip for us newbs, won’t deflect like tape
One piece at a time... looking forward to seeing this build in it's final form
If I get a 3in exhaust do I use a 3in band clamp? Or 4in????
I can't find this info anywhere.
That math made my head hurt, not because it was hard, but because it was so wrong lol😂
How was it wrong?
Lol
IMO. One of the last good people on RUclips. You and jimmy 👍🏻
She sounds good with her new exhaust. Can't wait to see her completed. Great job so far.
Ae 86' SUPERB motor had same one for 12+ yrs wish i still had it OH well , still got my 21yr old B16a2 working on it right now...well done fella ..

Your video and production quality is amazing, I still can't understand how you have not blown up.
Now heres a video for the average DIYer. No special tools really for the exception of a welder. Nice clean job, and well presented.
B/V must stand for BEAST VIDEOS i love watching you work man good stuff
envision it and make it happen!! that's why I love this channel and especially this build!!!!
I can't wait to see this thing completely finished
Sound great man. Gonna trick some people who don’t know cars very well hearing that sound coming from a Honda.
First like! And first view. Now I’ll watch the video!
I just ordered a kit like this a few days ago, hasn't even arrived yet, then you doing Wago helped me find this channel. I look through your videos and found this! Good job BTW I hope mine comes out as nice as yours.
Such a kick ass build! Keep up the great work!
Sounds so badass!!!! Super clean install man, legit.
Great job fabricating. I would recommend a flex joint somewhere and also not making the entire exhaust 1 piece. Sounds mean 💪🏻
Thank you for this. I'm just planning a 2" center exit exhaust for my Renault Clio.
Thanks so much for this video. Am upgrading my exhaust system, but definitely not to this level and getting a shop to do it. Just bought down pipes and an x pipe to improve the sound and performance.
You can learn so much from your experience and your channel. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait till your Ls powered Honda is ready to rip

This car will be a masterpiece
Very helpful. Great video and I like how you make your thinking visible.
it amazing how you did this, everyone else would have gotten a bender. you are skilled
Ik this is a year later but I finally got my equal length headers done. I get alot of people stunned because of the huge bulge of pipes poking out behind the front wheels, I love it they make my cam sound even better
On jackstands, proper DIY, impressed you got the car up with the jack in one lift - takes me at least 3.

Outstanding logic and work. You inspired me to do my own exhaust, this is the type of thing I know I can do if I put the thought in.
Just ordered the same piping kit, excited to try it out
Where did you get it from?
This is really awesome, can’t wait to see what’s next!!!

8:29 CHECK OUT THAT GAP!! 😜 ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO WATCH A BODE VIDEO.
Liked your Y piece method, very cool! 😎
Great work nice and simple flowing exhaust
You are a badass fabricator, great skills!

Nice work brotha 👍🏽.
It sounds so good, super aggressive!
That's a much smoother exit. Nice work!
Great video and great to see a new one each week were going to get you to 100K if that will let you work full time again and that will be great.
13:04 - jack stands holding on for dear life
Keep up the good work. Been dying to see what you would do next.
Loving the videos! Im still waiting for the paint video! Always doing excellent work bro!
Always enjoy your content man, wish you could come back full-time. As a wise man once said, "One day you may God damn it" RIP Rich Piana.
I’ve got argon for weeks, a tig rig and more 2.5” stainless than I know what to do with, think it’s time for a project

I thought I was watching Taylor Ray with the no flex pipe lol
@The DREadEd fam Taylor Ray only needed a flex pipe because his system was built out of titanium.
You did a great job, and it sounds fantastic.
Loving the stop light 😁
Workin with what we got, Amen to that brother 🦾

That was awesome to do It that way and to show everyone it can be done. Hell yeah 😀
Dont you think a single 2.5 pipe will restrict the flow ?
Nice cut with that grinder man!
Why did you decide not to use the cutouts? Doing an ls swap myself and am contemplating putting them right after headers
It came to me what I am thinking I will do. Get a section of flex pipe form it to what I want, then copy it to ridged .
damn dude, i learned a lot just by the pipe measuring!
Very nice setup Adam. Maybe still a little loud, but who cares! Dutch regards, Nico.
Good video!
Is your piping aluminized and what kind of gas are you using?
Bradley
I'd recommend a flex pipe before the Y. You don't want your welds to crack.
Wicked looking build but will the floor be okay with the exhaust pressed against it st the first y split

I think a center exit exhaust with a defuser would look fresh and clean.
COOL LOOKING Y PIPE..NICE SET UP..
Nice job! I picked up a couple of layout tips from this.
Nicely done! Sounds good too
Sounds so good... love the way its coming out .. keep up the good work 👏

Awesome build, but things have obviously changed a lot since the days of my apprenticeship. Back then, half of 2½ was 1¼, not 1¾...
As soon as he said that I did a wide eyed "What?" head shake. 😂
He got it in the end.
Great video and great job ive been thinking of doing one on my van thanks for sharing
I know I'm 3 months late but I think a boom tube style exhaust tip would look great with the rectangular bumper cut out
Love the video bro!

Isn't half of 2.5= 1.25? Or is there something more to the math?
Thanks for making this video. It helped me
Thanks for the video Bode dope as always...
I have that same welder what is your setup for doing exhaust?
I’m probably going to fabricate a exhaust at college, in my industrial mechanics course. Should be sick and they have more then enough tools to do it.
Very clean work!

lol far from famous but I appreciate it! OG stanced DC5 back in the day! These kids have no idea that we did this nearly 10 years ago!
