Hello everyone! My name is Jannie Lam, and I am a self-taught cook. I mostly learned from watching my mother and grandmother in the kitchen while growing up. I never knew that my passion for food and cooking ran so deep until I auditioned and competed on Season 9 of Fox's hit TV program-MasterChef. From that show came my nickname “Vegas Vixen," which at home with friends and family became "Vegas Vixen in the Kitchen." Thus, my new weekly RUclips series was born. So tune in each week as I cook, talk about food, and share different aspects of my culture overall life. Enjoy my take on classic recipes as well as my own culinary visions.

Thanks for the recipe. Looks delicious. Im going to make this today.
Traditional chicken curry looks delicious Jannie! I had that dish multiple times in my life.
Great recipe, absolute hit amongst our guests. We call it "Khmer Borshch" 😉
Great video, love seeing more Khmer recipes on RUclips! Love the video work and your explanations. Very thorough and succinct at the same time.
It's good to see the young generation still cooking the traditional food. Keep up the good work. Stay true

209! Nor Cal
Thank you for this!!!!
Love it
I like how she doesn’t have a specific measurement. That’s how I cook. I just eyeball some ingredients to my taste.
It’s the best way!! You just taste and add what you need, but because I have to put the recipe I make the recipes a few times to make sure it’s right so viewers can make it the same way.
@@JannieLam your last name Vietnamese right ✅
This is how i cook too but a LOT of ppl get really frustrated if there are no specific measurements lol
Yummy, making this tonight. Love your cooking style.
This is just constructive criticism only because you are doing a cooking channel. It would help for you to learn the specific names of all the vegetables and not just use a generic name for them. Otherwise its awesome that you are trying to teach more about your traditional cuisine. Keep it up 👍
Duly noted 📝🤗
Is it common to put star anise ? Ive seen a diff adding it ?
What the brand name of your food processor? Yummy. Thanks for sharing
Cuisinart
@@JannieLam thank you.
I always wanted one of those blenders what is it called and where can i find them??
It’s a mini cuisine art food processor. You can find it on Amazon or places like crate and barrel or Williams Sonoma
I like it with beef personally
Where did you buy your food processor from?
I believe the one I’m using in the video is cuisine art brand. I now have a mini kitchenaid food processor.
Does this curry taste spicy with that pepper paste ?
Not spicy at all! It’s more for color and flavor

About how much Kroeung are you using for this recipe?
Jennifer Sherrick about 1 1/2 - 2 cups
Lingn kreung oyh shñoyh! 🤣
Grill Wasabi Sushi Channel have to!! Lol
What size pot are you using?
Carol N sorry for the late response, I believe it’s either a 16 or 24 quart pot? I just used the biggest pot I have for room.

Wazzup baby I wanna hug you in my arms.
Blend curry paste . But using curry paste bought from the market. Bring curry. This is fake.
@suarsivapong Where in the video did you see store bought curry paste? You’re showing how dumb you are by not paying attention because if you’re taking about the red chili paste, it’s rehydrated dried peppers that I blended. Sorry I bought dried peppers from the market like I bought every other ingredient. Get your facts straight before commenting. Idiot.
That's the Mexican dried red chili that is soaked in hot water and blended. The curry paste was made fresh with lemon grass, shallots, garlic, turmeric, and galangal. The store bought red curry paste isn't as good as these fresh ingredients.
You're so ignorant lol
