    Hello everyone! My name is Jannie Lam, and I am a self-taught cook. I mostly learned from watching my mother and grandmother in the kitchen while growing up. I never knew that my passion for food and cooking ran so deep until I auditioned and competed on Season 9 of Fox's hit TV program-MasterChef. From that show came my nickname “Vegas Vixen," which at home with friends and family became "Vegas Vixen in the Kitchen." Thus, my new weekly RUclips series was born. So tune in each week as I cook, talk about food, and share different aspects of my culture overall life. Enjoy my take on classic recipes as well as my own culinary visions.

    Ingredients:
    2lbs of boneless chicken thighs
    48oz of chicken broth
    1 can of coconut milk
    Olivia oil for the pan
    9 dry chilies rehydrated, deveined, and minced to a paste (I used a food processor)
    1 tablespoon shrimp paste
    2 heaping spoonfuls of chicken powder
    2 little palm sugar circles
    For the Kreung: 3-4 stalks of thinly chopped lemongrass
    6-8 galangal root slices
    13 garlic cloves
    5-6 turmeric roots
    1 shallot

    This is just constructive criticism only because you are doing a cooking channel. It would help for you to learn the specific names of all the vegetables and not just use a generic name for them. Otherwise its awesome that you are trying to teach more about your traditional cuisine. Keep it up 👍

    I like how she doesn’t have a specific measurement. That’s how I cook. I just eyeball some ingredients to my taste.

    • @JannieLam
      @JannieLam  4 года назад +1

      It’s the best way!! You just taste and add what you need, but because I have to put the recipe I make the recipes a few times to make sure it’s right so viewers can make it the same way.

    Blend curry paste . But using curry paste bought from the market. Bring curry. This is fake.

    • @JannieLam
      @JannieLam  Год назад +2

      @suarsivapong Where in the video did you see store bought curry paste? You’re showing how dumb you are by not paying attention because if you’re taking about the red chili paste, it’s rehydrated dried peppers that I blended. Sorry I bought dried peppers from the market like I bought every other ingredient. Get your facts straight before commenting. Idiot.

    • @ravenkim83
      @ravenkim83 10 месяцев назад +1

      That's the Mexican dried red chili that is soaked in hot water and blended. The curry paste was made fresh with lemon grass, shallots, garlic, turmeric, and galangal. The store bought red curry paste isn't as good as these fresh ingredients.
