Thai Red Curry comes from the regions of Surin, Sisaket and Buriram, guess who is the majority ethnic group that resides there to this day? Not to mention that they were originally Khmer provinces during the reign of Angkor.
@@samwrought5650 Red Curry is from central Thailand (look it up it is common info.) and Khmer was under Siam rule for more than 400 years before French colony in 1863. It is not surprising that similar recipes will get passed down from Ruling Kingdom to the ruled.
@@TheDeciderGod we may agree to disagree on this topic, is not Thai or (Tai Lue or Thai Kadai) people originally from Nanchao region of China? Mon Khmers have settled in Southeast Asia the Irrawaddy and Mekong Delta before Tai Lue, and we’ve traded with India where many of these ingredients like turmeric come from.
Ah yes, because in the culinary style, measurements are used so that it can be accurately repeated… almost like a science experiment. 😂 However, from my understanding, because Khmer uses a lot of fresh herbs and produces, and the flavors are supposed to compliment and or balanced, the fresh herbs aren’t always the same as sometimes you might only have older ginger and it’s not as strong or limes that aren’t as sour. As such, it’s done best by taste.
