The irony being.... there is really no superfluous action, unlike current movies that need to fill every damn gap with something, some plot kitbashed there for comitee decision, no dialogue, no music, just the sting from the unexpected encounter, nothing, yet, that's the best point. Focus on the action through simplicity. And the unbearable tension of the moment. Masterful

This is a fun interpretation. I never really attributed that amount of awareness to it, but I generally got the feeling that it basically just knew that something bad was afoot (loud sirens and such) and so it escaped to a quieter part of the ship. Your interpretation has a lot of scary implications about how the alien could know that. Does it get knowledge/memories from its host? Is it just incredibly observant (lots of layers of context for it to know that)? Or maybe it can somehow detect what its prey is thinking, could sense Ripley's desperation to get to the shuttle, and deduced that whatever danger she was trying to escape also applied to itself. It even tried to go to sleep like she did! But it's speculation like this that makes me absolutely love this movie, but fail to really appreciate any of the others. They explain too much.

    • @LanceVanceDance84
      @LanceVanceDance84 8 месяцев назад +9

@@helpmeimburning Absolutely. For as much as I love Aliens and its overall influence on sci-fi/action, I feel as though this is still the only film in the franchise where the alien actually feels like something "alien" rather than what's essentially an oversized insect that's part of a hive.
As for the rest of the films, I don't consider any of them to be canon -- _especially_ all of the movies that came out after Alien 3. However, I am looking forward to the upcoming Alien series being made for FX by Noah Hawley; his work on both Fargo and Legion gives me some optimism that it'll be more in line with the original film than any of the others, especially since he's already confirmed that he's bringing back the retro-futuristic look of the first film and ignoring everything introduced with Prometheus and Covenant.

By the time she saw the alien, she had 8 minutes left (3 minutes to abort sefl destruct and the 5 minutes to actual self destruct). She turned on the destruct and tried to get to the shuttle, but the Alien cut her off on her only escape root. She couldn’t go any further with that thing around the corner. So she had to turn back and terminate the self destruct in order to buy time and find another way to get the creature off the ship. However, she was too late in stopping the destruct sequence. She had no choice but to abandon ship and go toe to toe with that creature.
      Hope that makes sense

Activities oriented on not accented correct attitude to representatives of group of alive being, meaning some work of type that can be described as enemy destructive and based not on understanding of object behaviour, but oriented on revenge, or racists connected activities, and any kind of attitude that can be detmined as harmful for no reason, meaning same attitude even to won social group, make specific changes of entity. Brain, either body differences are connected to disharmoby with nature around, where any object is part of it. Thus, such parts of changes bring not harmonic difference in entitty, between such centers in brain and body, and more normal ones.
    - Intellectual activities and coordinations have conflicts inside and between.
So it brings changes of neck mechanismes, for examples. I can point on it by speech etc. making growth of discoordination. Changes you can see by tones of skin and more, having parallel lines, when it is enforced.
It is so, as organism changes colors in case of conflict, trying to find soe resolving through contrast optics as well. As it does while renewing organism elements, as it brings some disbalance as more as more differences to other elements or within element. Also strange inverse activites raise up disharmony. Like you do something for no reason, or in opposite direction. It can be very simple thiing.
    - Cats and tigers are very not bad specialists in it. And their colors oriented not simply on hunting.
Their colors enforce discoordination on deceased "aliens:, becoming enemy for themselves, own groups. Tones of hairs, skin of cats is very specific. So I use them a little as it is simplier... 😏
Cats feel in me abilities of much higher level. It is dangerous, but they look for a safety. Dangerous - because erroneous behavior brings reaction. And cat understands that object is more complex etc.
    So cats like me.
    - Deceased "aliens", not all of them are bad, change behaviour of social group, disharmony with growth bring difference in behaviour of group to not stabilized psycho. As such object can be manager. So it is spread more, with bigger influence.
Stabilizing of behaviour, or growth of danger towards some dangerous knowledge, bring separation of object with indicating him/her by deceases that appear without accordance to conditions these decease appear naturally.

I like to eat different food. Even with big wuantity of biological, and not only, toxigens. It requires some adapting in complex situations.
      - So my attitude to deceased objects is funny and very simple. As my immune system raises up changes of "consuming type". 😏
      To social groups and more...😏
