Sigourney Weaver And ‘Aliens’ Cast Reunite 30 Years Later | TODAY
Sigourney has aged gracefully and beautifully. No ridiculous plastic surgery, a real classy lady! 💞
SW has always been a spoiled rich kid. No stress, no money worries, **NO WORRIES AT ALL**! (Thanks, Dad...)
She aged really well.
@TheColdWish
Got me laughing.
I'd Sigourney...her, Weaver? Wait, I'd weave her Sigourney? Sigourney Weaver is hot. 😐
@@CLASSICALFAN100 And no heavy lifting. Is that the reason? You're on to something CLASSICALFAN100.

Definitely one of the greatest!

Sadly.... i ask myself that almost daily. Hudson gave voice to my mid life crisis lol.

"With those things running around!!" we won't last 17hrs!
Bill Paxton was such a loss; I really am sorry that he passed away, I love all the characters he played... he was such a high energy, talented actor, and seemed like a really nice person.
x
GREAT ACTOR .. 👍.. MISS THAT GUY.
They know which ones are Jesus
So sad, his passing at a young age. I totally enjoyed his performances in every film I saw him in.
Game over man, GAME OVER!
Rip Bill the only person to fight Aliens, Predator and Terminator!!
Also Lance Henriksen
Plus a bunch of tornadoes!!
And he had 3 wives in the hbo show big love, rip bill.
Ah I keep forgetting he was in T1. His character in Predator 2 is awesome, and he's probably my fave, most often quoted character from Aliens. We even used to paraphrase Hudson at college when discussing cutting class "What with Dr Lockwood running around? You can count me out!" Good times.
...and loose to them all...
"Pre CGI. No fancy computer effects..." That's why it looked so good.
Indeed
They also said an era before green screens but Star Wars was using blue screens years before this. Aliens uses a ton of rear-projection, as did The Terminator, which accomplishes the same thing. Of course King Kong used rear projection in 1933.
It's not just looks, there were also much, much fewer self-contradicting and plain dumb stuff in the plot, and no idiotic characters like in recent movies of the franchise.
@@FanboyFilms I know that Green Screens are preferred nowadays (& for certain things I think they are better) but I kinda prefer Blue Screen shots. At least for outdoor shots.
@Donald Trump first time I've agree with you on anything.
I never get tired of this movie. Paxton adds so much humor and life to the movie. A classic!
I watch it every year on my birthday lol.

RIP Bill. What a cool actor.
Yeah, RIP...heard a podcast with him, and he seemed like a genuine, down-to-earth dude...and he was stand out hilarious in Weird Science! lol

Yep. Sometimes you had to look twice or look again to see that it was him. Like when he played the Sgt in Edge of Tomorrow.

The practical effects made the movie more timeless! CGI is great but practical effects bring films to life.
Still one of the all-time greatest films ever made. The cast was phenomenal.
The greatest sci-fi movie of all time!!!
RIP Bill Paxton.
" Game over man"

Bill paxton when bishop uses the knife it isn’t funny man ..
Ahahaha, my brother and I always say that line. Too funny. lol
Justget Onwithit of course! 😂
Great unscripted one liner.
One of the greatest movies of all time. I still can't believe Sigourney didn't win the Oscar.
It was PC night again. They had to give it to the deaf mute for basically playing herself.... Not a woman who hates gun and just so happens to be the strongest female action hero ever put on film.
She should have got it. No doubt in my mind!!!
That was a crime against all logic. Such an utter shame.
She should have.
I don’t think it had anything to do with being PC back then. The Academy simply didn’t give out Oscars to Action/Sci-Fi actors or directors because they didn’t consider these films to be works of serious art. Ignorant thinking but that’s how it was. Especially considering the caliber of acting that Sigourney did in this film. That kind of bias is also why Spielberg, despite all his incredible films in the 70’s & 80’s, never won an Oscar until he did Schindler’s List.
The Lady who played Newt was perfection!
"They mostly come out at night. Mostly."
Before watching this, I thought "it's a shame Bill Paxton died and missed this reunion". I was so happy to see he was still alive and made it to be a part of this.
I said the same thing and that had me looking him up on Wikipedia. Actually this re-union and its posting was six years ago, and it's coming up in our suggested viewing is all.
Wish Jeanette Goldstien who played vazquez was there she too was iconic
Yeah.
I couldn't tell... whom did they NOT talk to in that cast group? Was it Bill Paxton?
As for me they all were a perfect team. Aliens is my desktop film. Very often I turn it before going to bed.
I get that, but for me, Newt's constant screaming and mindlessly getting into trouble mars it deeply.
Well, she is not white.
Somebody said Aliens...she thought illegal aliens and signed up...
Saw it three times at the theatre in '86
Still my all time favorite movie
R.I.P. Bill Paxton
How'd you see it in a cinema in 86 if it came out in 79?

That’s dope
Fun fact, Aliens, the Terminator franchise and Tombstone all featured Hicks and Hudson.
I wonder what kind of reaction Bill Paxton and Michael Biehn gave each on set of Tombstone. Hey I remember you.

theo9952 Yep! She along with a few other actresses chose to age gracefully and still looks great!
theo9952 wow 68, didnt know that. Still looks very nice. Lance looks old now, cant believe how they have aged

I loved the original and the second Aliens movie the most. Sigourney truly lived her role and made it immortal🙏! I can never tire watching both the movies.
She sure did
I remember walking out of the theatre when I seen this movie telling my dad "Wow! That was amazing!"....
Agreed - I went to opening night with friends of mine and I was BLOWN AWAY. I went with my dad and uncle about two weeks later and they also loved it! I STILL love it and will have it on at least a couple of times per year - it's become a kind of comfort film.
Nice
I always liked Michael Biehn. It's a shame he didn't get more opportunities in Hollywood.
Yah me too he was an awesome actor I love all his work
He's phenomenal, one of my faves.... I agree, I wish he got better opportunities, but most Biehn fans don't realize how many great roles/movies are on his list.... most just think Hicks, and Kyle Resse..... If you looks at all his roles/films he's got a lot...
Terminator being his best to me
Aliens
The Abyss
Tombstone
The Rock
Navy Seals
Time Bomb
The Seventh Sign
Planet Terror
Deadfall
Also just announced he's gonna be in Mandalorian season 2.
Tombstone!
He made a god-awful spy thriller with Patsy Kensit in the very late 80s early 90s which was so bad it had to be seen to be believed. Much better as a character than a lead.
@@HighlandMike325 Are you kidding me? To each their own pal... Time Bomb is an awesome movie, and Michael Biehn is great as the lead.... totally, totalllllly disagree. Extremely underrated film. Also Terminator is arguable who the lead is.
No CGI, yet the effects are mostly excellent. Maybe Hollywood could learn something here.
Perfect way to put it.
R C Nelson 100% agree there
They are mostly excellent at night, mostly
It's the reliance on CGI and no motivation the cost to create practical effects that is massively sad.
*Aside, the Stranger Things monster would have been aces if it was practical.
Ray Harryhausen set the bar for realistic and spectacular special effects dating back to the 50s.

Reborn8303 True. The CGI in Jurassic Park was excellent and perfectly balanced with real models.
+Neoquaker1 And men in suits like Godzilla ;)
Terminator and The Thing are from that era too. They still hold up today.
Sigourney had the "BITCH, PLEASE" face before flaming the nest :D
OMG that's what I thought too!
Ripley looks at the queen and realizes she's trying to trick her. The queen gestures her warriors to back off so that Ripley doesn't go off with the flamethrower while at the same time has other warriors sneak up from the sides.
That's when Ripley goes "... Bitch please". Not some indecisive bullshit "like "should I or shouldn't I".
Wtf, Michael Beinn! How many times did you NOT watch this scene??
I think he thought the same, I think he was hoping others would cue in and that he wouldn't have to suggest this expletive, but he realised they weren't sure what exact moment he was referring to.
Actually what happens is the queen gestures the guards to back off. The queen allows Ripley and Newt to go. Then Ripley gives the look and flames everything. An act of vengeance for all those human lives the aliens had taken. So Beihn has it right.
A Jalapeño Actually what happens is first the queen seems to let them go when Ripley threatens her with the flamethrower (by shooting a flame in the air and then pointing it at an egg), but when they try backing out one of the eggs suddenly opens, showing the queen is actually treacherous - that's why Ripley gets pissed and flames the nest.
The queen can't magically make the eggs open, right? Eggs hatch on their own. If it were an "ambush", the queen wouldn't open an egg right in front of Ripley; it would be behind her instead. It just so happened that an egg hatch. And that triggered Ripley's fury.
I find it hard to believe these "reporter" ladies would sit through even 1 minute of this awesome movie
Agreed! Always makes me cringe!
RIP Bill, still one of the best movies ever.
Just watched the film again today (lost count of how many times I have). Even though I can probably cite the dialogue line by line, it still never gets old. An all time classic.
Alien and Aliens are classic sci fi. Even classic horror. Arguably the best in the genres.
Could watch all day every day absolutely fantastic legend 👍
Me too. And I´m not aglosaxon speaker :)
When you guys keep saying classic, makes me feel old 😂
One of the absolute best Horror Sci-Fi movies of alle time.
Starship troopers novel came first. And the original Alien is better leaving much more potential in its sequel that was wasted. But too bad the sequel ended up being a starship troopers refix
Everything 1-4 is great in it's own way, but first two are definitely masterpieces!
Corporal_Hicks 1977 AMEN! They kept adding more and more aliens but never recaptured the camaraderie of the first cast and the shock of our first encounter with the Face Hugger, Chest Buster and grown up alien. Kudos to H.R. Giger!
No, Alien was. Not Aliens.
Absolutely LOVE this move & Cameron is a genius but also remember people...if there was no Alien & Ridley Scott there would be NO Aliens. For those who don't know, Ridley's also the guy who gave us Blade Runner & if u haven't seen Prometheus yet do it! Ridley hasn't lost his touch & imo it redeemed the Alien franchise...
The young lady is Carrie Ann Henn ( the little girl Newt), she only made Aliens and became a teacher. Sigourney Weaver still stays in contact with her and brings her to many events.
Bill Paxon made his character, Hudson, so memorable. He had the best lines.
“Game over, man, game over!”
Why don't you put her in charge?
@steelhound duncan lol that makes sense. It did seem spontaneous and in retrospect I can’t see a writer actually writing that kind of line into the dialogue haha. Thanks for the information.
I can't believe Bill Paxton passed away 😭 so young.
Rest in peace...
RIP John Hurt and Bill Paxton
Both great actors. John Hurt's last memorable roles in my mind are in movies Icebreakers and V For Vendetta.
And of course, Bill Paxton as the drill sargeant in Edge of Tomorrow.
They are both great actors and now they are both dead. Learn to read English well.
RIP Harry Dean Stanton & Bolaji Badejo
Manny Lugz well then I'm gonna go RIP Charles Chaplin and Clint Eastwood, wonderful actors.
lazyatthedisco lol seems some ppl dont have any idea that John Hurt and Bill Paxton both appeared in an Alien movie. John Hurt was the unfortunate scientist in Alien 1 who got facehugged and then the alien later bursts out of his chest.
Of course Bill Paxton is the talkative marine Hudson in Alien 2 /Aliens.
James Cameron has always made gems. Perhaps the director of all time.
Did you know he stole the story of Terminator from an author? She forced him to add her name to the credits by law. James knows a good story, like Avatar for instance. But it is the tale of Pocahontas, thinly disguised.
He does direct well, of course, and I am a huge fan. But never put anyone on a pedestal.
@@christianzillare you talking about Harlan Ellison? Honestly in that case, I think Harlan was taking it a bit too far by claiming plagiarism. Cameron was clearly inspired by his works, but didn’t outright plagiarise them

Nobody has nailed it like that since. T2 was pretty close though.
No mention of Stan Winston.... The only man to bring these amazing monsters to life... RIP Stan Winston.
"Remember this was pre-CGI. No fancy computer effects or green screens existed"
Yeah, proper film making.
The lady that said that is a moron, There was CGI + Green + Blue screens it is common knowledge-Look it up
Somehow George Lucas ignored this.
There was no CGI. Nothing like there is today. Processors were not power enough, and there was nowhere the memory needed to do Computer Generated Graphics. They used miniature models. Computers back then were mostly text driven programs and crude stickman graphics. They had no power to generate graphics you see in today's movies. Even within the Alien movie at the beginning, you can see this in their supposed future control panels guiding the Nostromo. The only graphics they had, even in the imagined state of the movie, were mostly text driven. Even "mother" was text driven. As for Green screen, it was crude and even in a finished movie you could tell it was green screen because everything in the foreground had a black outline around it. George Lucas, in his star wars movies used stop action photography to make his "Walkers" vehicles move. In later releases of those star wars movies he did add computer graphics though.
thats true, but when cgi is done properly

Bill Paxton and Lance were in Near Dark together. A different kind of vampire movie that many people haven't seen.
Alien and Aliens were simply amazing and unmatched for many many years even now most sci fi horror movies fail miserably to come close to these.
Having watched "Alien" today, I noted that as much as the picture is beautiful, the plot (in the second half of the film) is more than confusing and inconsistent. In the best tradition of Mr Ridley.
@@alexpetrov8871 Itr's a haunted house type of movie, it's a very different kind of movie compared with Aliens. I like them both equally, though Aliens obviously is a bigger budget movie. "Aliens"inspired me to enlist during a time when women were supposed to sit back and let men do that. My military experience many years later helped me to help others during 911 in NYC and Superstorm Sandy that destroyed nearly all of New Jersey. Thank you Sigourney Weaver for teaching us girls as children that we matter and that when there is a will there is a way!
For all those 2nd wave feminists that complain that there arent enough strong female characters and try to solve it by ruining Ghostbusters, I say.... LOOK AT ALIEN and ALIENS!!!

Didnt matter she was female! What an inspiration to me.
I'm not a woman, but yeah ripley is very inspiring. I hate it when everyone is like captain marvel is the first female hero, when there's wonder woman, ripley, etc.
And she did it by rising up against the odds, not by insulting those around her. There are days where it seems that if a movie/tv show wasn't made after 2010, journlists and activists pretend it doesn't exist.

mickeybunts I never thought of her that way since she was portrayed as an ordinary person and not a bimbo. She just reeks with class though and that is very attractive.
i never realized how tall sigourney weaver is. she seems to be an inch or more taller than all the men around her. a high elf warrior princess, good with miniguns and flamers, with extra points in strength and endurance . . . and charisma!
As a young girl, Sigourney Weaver became my hero and role model. For the first time, a woman was the strongest of all and even smarter than an alien creature. Absolutely brilliant!
Not strongest... just more acute and driven to survive... and being all that without having to bash males for whatever feministic reasons. Great character and how a female protagonist should be.
Yep, and don't forget a great leader.

Dude (or sis? Whatever ;-;). The entire point and reason we watch movies at all is for the "what-ifs". To get as far away from reality as possible and let our minds wonder. Sure, it's great to succeed in real-life and all, but successes in fiction are successes in fiction for one simple purpose; to be better than the successes in real life.

@@xenomorph3066 ~ i meant your username “xenomorph”, as i am a huge fan of most of jims works (even though he annoys me that he wont release an updated quality blue ray or digital version of ‘the abyss’). i also have fat respect for giger + his phat work! i love ridley + fincher too.
so i love the proper noun xenomorph (specific to the aliens franchise), but also xenomorph as a general film genre.
I liked this movie, but honestly the first one surrounds a lot of more mistery and takes you beyond the usual science fiction dimension
I feel the same way. I LOVE Aliens, just like I LOVE Terminator 2 (both Cameron's). But they are over-hyped action sequels, not the beauty, mystery, and darkness that is the originals; Alien and Terminator.
Лучший фантастический фильм за всю историю мирового кинематографа!!!
one of the best sci fi horror films ever!!..to my friend al matthews rest in peace, he was a great guy.
RIP Bill
You were the ultimate badass
RIP Private Hudson.
Bill, you were great.
Imagine being a part of a movie that is still iconic even after four decades. That's a real privilege for the cast.
Nice summary. Would love to have seen the whole interview. My second favorite movie of all time. Right behind my first.
i agree. disappointed they didn't show more of this. For goodness sakes, they got so much of the cast together and then what 30secs?
One of the best movies of all time
Best scifi action horror of all time by far
