    The difference between Sexuality and Identity is something very simple yet something alot of people dont understand. I remember my mom being very very confused that if your nonbinary how could someone be bisexual. Or the difference between Bisexual and Bigender. So really, pay attention to the word "sexual" and "gender" at the end of every lgbtq+ labels.

      @@rsky812 it's because people want to describe their sexuality in a word without needing to explain the whole concept to the person. And if you figure out you (for example) like boys, girls, etc. then just find the term for your sexuality. It's easy and that is why most people like it.

    • @spaghetto9836
      @spaghetto9836 7 месяцев назад

      @@rsky812Because it's useful for clarifying to & interacting with others. And bc human beings love naming common things. We aren't islands.
      If I existed on my own, I'd have no need to have a name for myself, but friends, family and people who crush on me are going to ask why I'm not interested in anyone, or when I'm getting married & why, to which I'll have to clarify my asexuality. Which is important information since I live among them and want them to stop asking in a way that satiates their curiosity.
      Or if you're in a setting where mating is the goal, clarifying who you like (e.x. "bisexual") helps categorize/narrow down options more neatly to find & be found.
      And finally, it gives a sense of relief and self-realization after years of confusion when you figure out what you are. There's an element of expression to it, the same reason why cavemen invented writing & singing.
      I don't like when people, straight or queer, say there's no reason to label your sexuality. There is. You can not prefer it yourself while acknowledging it's valid for others.

    I’m not sure if I’m ace or not. I definitely feel attraction and I’d like to cuddle maybe, but I just don’t feel sexual attraction. So far I’ve been “the only straight child in my family” (Bi, pan, aromantic, and me). I want a relationship, but I’ve always classified things like hugging as romantic and don’t hug family members because hugs are about as special as I can be with a person. My family thinks it’s some weird PTSD, which is why I’ve been so skeptical of if I’m actually ace or not. I mean, I was young when the incident they’re referencing happened (11-ish), it was long before a person would feel sexual attraction. I’ve never been able to convince my family and friends that I’m actually ace because they know about “the issue.”

    I'm gonna finish the video. lol

    This is a great video! I'm panromantic and asexual; I first identified as asexual when I was around 13, and at the time I had trouble differentiating between romantic and sexual attraction (which can obviously be explained by the fact that to this day I still have never felt sexual attraction), so I identified as aromantic as well for a short while. Most of the people around me would generally dismiss me when I came out (gotta love ace erasure), and around the age of 15 I had convinced myself that I was a panromantic pansexual as a result of both my internal difficulty differentiating between orientations as well as others' expectations of me. I only recently embraced my asexuality again in late 2019, and it's been quite liberating to allow myself to use labels I'm comfortable with rather than debate with myself like I have been for several years now. Everyone, please remember that romantic and sexual orientations are completely fluid; if you don't feel comfortable with a label for yourself, that's entirely valid. Don't force yourself to be someone you're not, and please stay safe in the process. :)

    When searching in web for info, the more I read I more is feel stressful and dizzy. I know what I want and feel, but describe it need lots of words.
    My parents not much care and simply reply 'labeling is bad, no one is always fit. person are unique. just live happily'
    And I went dial to LGBT+ support hotline, the guy on other side said, "labels will not make your life easier and happier. and your parents are right. since you have no issue with ppl around you, just live whatever you want"
    So, I am not exactly coming out, also not really in closet. But I feel a bit insecure about these. Idk what I am. I fear I will hurt my future potential partner if I meet someone good. I feel so hard to explain. I worry that maybe all my issue is just me having too much fantasy. Or, I just sub consciously want to be special? I just mess up. my mind mangled.

    That was one of the most perplexing videos I've ever come across. A lot of TV media has broadened my horizons on different sexual orientations, but I prefer dating men. Besides, I've never been in a serious relationship with one, because I can be slightly timid around people I don't know well.

    I’m a girl (at the moment- I’m struggling to figure out if I’m non-binary or not), and in-between sapiosexual and pansexual, because sapiosexual is liking people based on their intelligence, and pansexual is liking girls, boys, non-binarys, etc., but I like people more on their personality than their intelligence, so I’m not 100% sure what I am.

    This helped, I have always had the idea that as a cisgender female most words were labels, and they box you in. Reading the comments and watching this video kind of relieved some of that tension. Still not sure about identifying my sexual orientation yet though. I really HATE labels. But, as a friend of a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community, this video is amazing. I think I'm for now just identifying as a bicurious lesbian, and see where I go from there.

    my sexuality changes all the time where even i am suspiscious of myself now. it went from straight - pan - bi leaning to girls - bi leaning to boys - suddenly not feeling any attraction.
    it also doesnt help that i am very young. it makes me wonder whether im really a part of the community of just "following the trend" (which should not even be a trend AT ALL)

      hi you two! okay, so you both should be getting notifications for this
      there’s nothing wrong with having different attractions all the time- that’s actually called abrosexuality (i think)! you should probably look into that, but also, there’s nothing wrong with exploring! you could either be that or be trying to figure yourself out, and that’s perfectly fine.

      I get it! I'm young and started sixth grade this year and middle school is usually when hormones bubble. I found out I was Bisexual and Non-Bianary in 3RD grade I was depressed and decided to try something new. My mom don't support me but that's fine I don't care. From one Bisexual to another it's easier to just experiment and try until you feel comfortable with the best Sexuality that fits you. If none do and you wanna support LGBTQIA+ That's what's called straight ally. Your straight but support the lgbtqia. So the point is experiment and get comfortable. I support you no matter what ✌️

    heyyy I keep scrolling through videos because I’m struggling with finding out my sexuality.
    I’m a Christian cis female and have kept switching between bi, straight and ace. A big part of my attractions are that I’m not sure whether it’s platonic or romantic. I say that because I’m a shy person and whenever anyone gives me attention, I automatically go to thinking I have a crush on them.

    I want to come out to my family and friends, but I just don’t know what I am. I’m still very young, and I’ve never really given myself a label for my sexuality. The only thing my friends know is that I’m not heterosexual. Should I just go with that for the rest of my life? “Not heterosexual”?

    • @plagiaprism
      @plagiaprism 3 года назад +1

      if you don’t know what you are, you don’t really have to! labels aren’t important (ironically, there’s a label for not wanting a label), so you could just say you’re attracted to [gender] and thats it. of course, if you want to do some digging, google’s a fabulous place to start!

Like, I've been told I "give off" lesbian or bi vibes, and I've been kinda exploring to see where i lie. I've only dated guys, and never had feelings for a female. Even so, I end up didpising the thought of having a relationship with any guy and get sickened by it. I'm still a maturing female, so I hopefully have time to figure myself out.

    i might be asexual because idk...i love people but im not thinking of dating anytime soon...plus asexual is not just showing no attraction, you can show a little, which i do :)
    straight because i find some people attractive, so when i become a teen, maybe i can! But time will tell

    I am Non binary and asexual. I only discovered the term non binary about 2 years ago, but I always knew I was it, just didn’t know there was a word for it. I found out when I was looking online, as we do, I was trying to figure out my sexuality, as I assumed I was just a tomboy.
    I was about 21 and had been thinking I was a lesbian, and that was only because I hadn’t felt any attraction to any guys and I was a tomboy so people assumed I was a lesbian and I started to think that must be it. But after a while of trying things out, I hadn’t felt anything towards girls either. And then I googled it and went down a rabbit hole. But after about 2 years of figuring stuff out, I’m pretty sure I’m just ace. People still tell me I’m just a late bloomer, but I know I’m not. And I am okay with that,it took me a while, but I learned to accept me as me. I’m still learning every day and decided not to hide me anymore. I know that if someone had told me that being non binary existed when I was a kid, I woud be over the moon, to know that I’m not alone, so I hope to be that person to someone else.

      Same. I just learned the word non-binary relatively recently and have only been out for 2 weeks now to some close friends. However I have always felt like I’m neither fully a woman or a man, now I just know what this term is. I feel like a fraud since I didn’t come to terms with being non-binary until I was 19 which was recently for me. I’m also asexual and I’ve kinda known all along. Originally I thought I was bisexual since I thought that boys, girls and enbies are cute but I recently realized that I’m only experiencing romantic attraction to people, not any sexual attraction.
