Infiniti really fell from grace. It was the Japanese BMW in the mid 2000s. This vehicle has so much potential but it sadly falls behind with tech, design, and engine reliability. I'll definitely pass on this one.
I have 2 major gripes of this car. 1 the CVT and 2 the interior. The cvt is a horrendous especially for a vehicle in this category. To me it doesn’t sound good at all with this engine and the interior is pretty outdated in terms of tech. This came out around the same time as the new QX60 so it’s kind of disappointing to see that the new qx60 has Infiniti’s new interior design and tech and this doesn’t. The QX50 is already due for a refresh. The new QX80 has moved from the double screen layout and that’s like a decade old.
If Nissan can put a 400hp engine in the q60 and 400z along with their transmission they could have done that to this car. Sadly they flopped on making a true successor to the FX/Q70 line up.
I think it’s pretty darn nice! 🤷🏻♂️ Cvt’s drive just fine if you’re used to them. Having a steady foot and letting cvt do the work Vs fighting it from shifting makes it feel absolutely normal.
As a current Infiniti owner who moved to the brand from Lexus years ago because they were producing some of the best models on the market, it’s personally disheartening to see their current products so bland. I’m (sadly) planning to enter the market soon for something that isn’t under their moniker. - Dope review as always though; also hope you guys enjoy your upcoming visit down here to Nashville!
I feel that Infiniti just trolls the "luxury" class. They simply don't have a compass in building truly competitive vehicles. A CVT on a vehicle with sporty intentions? An interior that looks more Nissan than luxury? Sure, the styling is there(and I love the color of this example), but for the price, there are better options. I just expect better from the brand that likely pioneered the "coupe" SUV with the FX. That vehicle just seemed to have been a little before its time.
Owned and Drove the G37XS. Loved that freaking car. 300 horse. 6 cylinder. Handled like it was on rails. Beautiful acceleration and shift points. Great interior. Excellent leather gripping seats. Now heres where Im totally disappointed. Its 2024 and Nissan/Infinity has chosen to not update the vast majority of the interior components. They went to a Turbo V4 with CVT? So let down. Hats off, they made the V4 sound and feel very good with turbo and simulated shifting on the CVT but I just cant support that. Message to Infiniti: 1. Go back to a V6 2. Loose the Turbo 3. Loose the CVT (not good) 4. Interior updates needed majorly.
I’m just curious. What was that noise in the background? Was that like metal scraping against something because it sounded like it came out of a horror movie and it sounded obnoxious. But it was Drew’s reaction on his face that said everything when it happened a second time.
Love this review! Everyone is trashing the interior but I have to say at the pop-up tablet infotainment looks old to me as well. I like the 2 screens. That being said I think there are better offerings in the segment when it comes to price and tech.
Great job on the review. Infiniti really needs to upgrade the tech and powertrain. I wouldn't say the powertrain is bad, but they should make a wider variety of engines to choose from, and a different transmission would be great. As for the tech, its dated but at least works properly
I wish Infiniti would hire me!!! I know it's about saving money, but come on... I say it's 3 base elements to getting a vehicle right: the exterior, the interior and the performance. Infiniti has always been an automaker that gives us 1 of the 3, a nice exterior and a poor interior or vice versa. The new QX60 has them moving in the right direction, with a very nice exterior and interior; however, the performance shouldn't be on par with the Pathfinder. The QX60 should have come with the engine in the Q50, and the QX55 should have come with the interior of the new QX60 and the engine that's in the Q50; please drop the CVT. Come on Infiniti, I know you can get things back on track.
See I made a post about coupe SUVS on TT. I just don’t see the purpose in these type of SUVs. Yes they are very nice looking but they aren’t as practical as a “normal” SUV. Like that qx50 that was parked you’re better off with that. It’ll be way more practical than this.
Infiniti I was behind and it really shouldn’t be considered a luxury brand such an old interior and no moonroof. There so called technology a lot of other brands had them way before.
I would take my $57,800 and buy a Acura MDX because it’s no way I would take that amount of money and put it on a Infinity QX55 it’s not worth it sorry Infinity .
So I have this car and Infiniti definitely missed the mark on few items. No panaromic sunroof, all cars at this price point should have standard bose or premium sound system, and the infotainment system is outdated …
Everyone in the Automotive Industry knows that CVTs are a complete failure. Why Nissan Infiniti insists on keeping this failed design for their transmissions will be the end of the company. The only Infinti I drive has a 5.6L V8 with a REAL Automatic Transmission.
On the outside Xfinity always looks amazing., but on the inside they always look outdated. The cars inside looks like 5 years ago compare to others luxury cars. Terr Horrible 😣. Look at this one , small outdated screen. Everything looks behind the competition..
Why get this vehicle vs the Nissan Rouge SV Version. That’s the 2nd from the top and it has fish eye 360 cameras. Not to mention full moon roof. We spent 40k on a two tone with lumbar features and it’s simply not a Coupe. I wouldn’t consider this vehicle compared to the Rogue. Not plenty of height if you’re 5’ 9 sitting in the back. Definitely a great trim, but again I don’t see the benefits of this vs The Rogue. The Rogue would be less but currently has 3-6k delivery fees depending on where you live.
I LOVE this models exterior design...but Infiniti killed it for me by not giving it their latest center stack and infotainment design that they have inside of their other fully redesigned model lineup. Another example of where Infiniti completely missed the mark...by not redesigning the Q50! If the current Q50 had the Q60's styling, they wouldn't be able to produce them fast enough!!!
Dated interior, underpowered and overpriced. Car & Driver ranked the 2022 QX55 (the 2023 is virtually identical) 25th in it's category! Jag, Mercedes, Genesis and BMW rank 1 thru 4. Nissan has really ruined the Infinity brand.
Our last 3 vehicles have been Infiniti, but no more. Their ignorance of electrification have killed them for us. To pay this price and for it not to be fully electric is unforgivable. Their resale value will totally tank in just 3 or 4 years. Why on earth would anyone spend this kind of money on a none fully electric? Mercedes, Audi, BMW, and now even Cadillac have better all electric models. Not to mention the Genesis GV60 which embarrasses this model. And now Tesla is improving the next Generation Model Y with a new interior, suspension and quiet ride. And they have the biggest advantage of all -- NO DEALERS.
Talk about a dead brand driving. The brand barely moved a little over 10K vehicles for the entire second quarter of 2022. Genesis is now outselling Infiniti and they're literally writing Infiniti's obituary.
Still Outdated and a lot of missed Opportunities! The inside should look like the 2022 INFINITI QX60. Two split screens with inferior resolution is so 2012. And I was waiting on 2023 in hopes to see a interior update... SMH 🤦🏾♂️
WTF is up with the interior Nissan! I can see Nissan designers in a conference room saying, "Ok, what can we do to make this new car seem like a used car right off the bat?"
The birth of Genesis is the death of Infiniti. I owned 3 straight Infiniti's (G37 IPL, QX50 and Q50 Red sport) and hoped the QX55 would get serious horsepower, ditch the CVT, and stay out of the Nissan parts bin, none of which happened. Traded my Q50 Red Sport for a Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, wonderful crossover, everything the QX55 should have been. Infiniti is in trouble, sales are miserable, they need a complete overhaul...........
That 2008 interior is what kills this car
If Infiniti would simply stick their new interior from the new QX60 into this vehicle...it would be a winner
The armrest looks like a 1980s pickup truck. So ugly. How could they make the outside look so good and totally neglect the interior?
I wish the interior looked as beautiful as the exterior
Next model will definitely have an upgraded interior. The 2023 QX60 looks gorgeous “the inside”
Looks like a 2019 Kia Sportage the interior
The interior is not nice at all 😢
It looks like q50 😭
Really wish they would update the interior. The exterior is beautiful
This car looks really nice. Love the exterior and interior design. It’s vct engine is quick and smooth!
Interior update and a non cvt transmission NEEDED
The CVT is fine. Nobody is racing these things, people are driving them to work and the store. However, yes the interior does need an update.
@@TATTEDGAY ye the reliability on the cvt is questionable

Infiniti really fell from grace. It was the Japanese BMW in the mid 2000s. This vehicle has so much potential but it sadly falls behind with tech, design, and engine reliability. I'll definitely pass on this one.
The retro interior and CVT are big deal breakers.

@@naveenthemachine and they are surpassed by who in your opinion?
I don't think your opinion of the brand matters. Writing big ol long paragraphs for nothing lol

I love this car, and not a fan of the Lexus styling at all. To each his/her own I guess!
Go to Genesis! They are well above the rest and is killing it right now
Fantastic video guys!😸
:) If it had a Toyota or Honda CVT then sure... how is the Nissan/Infiniti CVT now?
I feel that Infiniti just trolls the "luxury" class. They simply don't have a compass in building truly competitive vehicles. A CVT on a vehicle with sporty intentions? Well tbh infiniti isn’t the only one who trolls the luxury class.
I think the interior lacks the wow factor and it doesn't appear it has much "punch" so to speak to the engine. Is it a bit slow?
Excellent review 👍
Good review, thank you. I would rather have the Nissan Murano with their V6 engine.
