I don’t have problem with CVT. I do long drive and very economical. My first CVT had 80k miles and no problem as long as you maintained it and careful.
I waited for the QX55 with my 2016 Q50 Red Sport, which I did enjoy. QX55 has CVT, recycled parts (again), no sale, traded the Red Sport for a Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, it kills Infiniti in every way, the QX55 is a band aid for a brand in quicksand.
@@kirstysmith1763 I agree with you. If it doesn't have a cd player - that's a non starter for me. I make my own cd's of my favorite old school music and jazz, so a cd player is a must have. I loathe casting music from my smart phone😎
I got one of these for loaner and I absolutely hated the driving dynamics. I do love design. I think they nailed it. But the 268hp with CVT absolutely kills the driving dynamics. This car should have come with same trims as the Q50. 300hp or 400hp, with updated 8-9 speed transmission. People do not want pay 61k with a CVT and an engine that is technically 8 years old with a feature they won't even understand. This is why im cross shopping German companies.
@Mr.Lambert777 Same here. I had a 2018 Q50 that I leased and then bought out due to the crazy prices when the lease was up. I really wanted to like the QX55 but couldn't get passed the cvt. I ended up buying a preowned x3 m40i.
I drive an Infiniti Q40 , my car is currently going through a few standard repairs , I was given a 2023 qx55 for a loaner currently, driving the qx55 I don’t want my car back 🤣 it’s really nice , if I had the extra money I would definitely get one , and I like driving an actual car not a midsize suv or crossover so is it worth the money ? I think so
As someone who has owned 2 cvt cars. I would never pay this much to own one. CVT is not bad but it definitely isn’t great. Anyone with a cvt trans knows what I mean. That lag is one of the most annoying things ever when you’re trying to overtake or speed up entering a highway/parkway/freeway.
It's astonishing how both Infiniti and Nissan have managed to kill their brands over the past decade. I've been with the Nissan family since 2004. I bought my 2011 FX35 in 2014, and this month I took it to the Sewell Infiniti of Dallas service shop for 120k services and a brake job. Pricey but good people there. This time, they loaned me a QX50 for a few days. I know the QX50 and QX55 are successors to the EX and not the FX, but after having driven multiple Q50's, QX60's, and QX50's, I'm convinced there's just no muscle, personality, or connection to the road in this Infiniti generation. I love my FX35 so much that I decided to buy a fully stock 2020 370Z 7AT as my weekender, which is essentially a fun-sized FX35 with the same 14-year-old tech. It just works, which is more than I can say about the glitchy screens and drive-by-wire feel of the late model Infiniti's.
I feel the exact same way. I’ve been with infiniti since 2009, FX35 then 2012 FX35 limited edition beautiful blue paint I should’ve bought that one out those cars still look great today. 2014 QX60, 2015 Q70S another solid great sounding car, 2017 Q50, 2018 Q50 red sport a beautiful powerful car but I had to add an Infiniti exhaust to give it some sound sadly because they should’ve made the car with the good sound like the old G35. After my red sport I went to BMW for myself. When they did the release on the QX55 I was in disbelief. We still have a 2020 QX50 that will be up soon that may be when we cut ties this qx50 has given us so many problems from the infotainment rebooting itself getting stuck, AC sucks, forward collision warnings going off an breaking on its own without anything in front of the car just a POS.
They were great in the 90s and early 2000's. They lost their mojo thereafter. Whoever is in charge of product development needs to be fired. CVT in a luxury car is unacceptable.
I test drive one of these today and it didn’t really impress me. The CVT seem like it had a delay when accelerating from a dead stop. At highway speeds, it seems competent, but it def had some torque steer which I wasn’t a fan of. Infiniti needs to really update the specs and interior if they want this to be a true contender though.
Is this the same cvt that's in the qx60 models? If so, this beautiful car won't be on the roads long... such a shame. I really like these coupe suv designs.
The tech is sadly obsolete…. And especially that stupid CVT! If no CVT and better tech and digital tachometer then sure! But damn Infiniti asking wayyyyy tooo much!?
It’s hard to justify Infiniti’s prices for their vehicles because while the outside looks really cool the interiors are literally just enhanced Nissan interiors. Infiniti really needs to just overhaul their interiors to make them more premium and luxurious compared to the Nissan counterparts.
Comes with and aging gauge cluster and infotainment system. Has the worst display and backup camera resolution and it comes with the troublesome Jatco CVT transmission. Money better spent on a Lexus or Acura SUV.
Please DO NOT purchase this vehicle. I did. Worst decision I ever made. The CVT IS AWFUL!!!! The sensors malfunctioned and I drove into a wall. The apple play does not connect. The SOS button was inactive for weeks. If you value your life, I imagine driving into something worse than a wall ( -a human) while blindly trusting sensors would be catastrophic. Save your money and invest in a Different model please. Oh despite contacting Infiniti, and being assigned a case # nothing came out of it. I’m stuck with a horrible car for 3 years. I’ve owned 6 Infinitis ( leasing) and this is the Worst model. Nothing but buyers remorse. Invest in other compact SUV’s. Just not this one.
I don’t have problem with CVT. I do long drive and very economical. My first CVT had 80k miles and no problem as long as you maintained it and careful.
Beautiful SUV…..But horrible screens and Terrible sunroof ….why no panoramic Sunroof….nissan needs to redesign that GPS it’s REALLY OLD
Agree about the panoramic sunroof. Why doesn’t have one 😑
Nissan and Infiniti needs to ditch the CVT transmissions!! Go back to a real automatic and I will consider your brands again.
The CVT is one of the best Transmissions ever made
So should this be the reason I choose Audi? Or do they suck too? I’m lost
I wish the dash was digital but still a nice car

That's not true
No. USA - 2022 sales - Genesis - 56,198, Infiniti - 46,619. Its just a matter of time before a decision will have to be made about Infiniti.
Still using the same Infotainment layout since 2014 from the Q50.
Man that’s sad as hell for Nissan/Infiniti
I like it. I can still play my old cds in it!

Exactly. I got rid of my 2020 qx50 after having it for 2.5 months ( lease) went an got a 23 BMW x3M also a lease and I LOOOOVE IT!!!!

I was thinking of purchasing one
The QX55 and QX60 looks great. Like the 55 looks better. The 60 nice size

Who pays $61.5k for a rogue?
aquatic swimming backwards arm strokes explain limited intertwined window trim
nice looking , pass front wheel drive and CVT not for $61,640
It's AWD standard, but the CVT is a bummer
Is this the same cvt that's in the qx60 models? If so, this beautiful car won't be on the roads long... such a shame. I really like these coupe suv designs.
Are CVT's as reliable as regular transmissions? If not now, will they eventually?
If the cvts are made by Toyota or Honda then yes
Otherwise probably not
they are not nor will ever be, but they get better gas mileage so companies like them due to emission laws.
They had problems years ago but they have gotten a lot better. Many people are still living in the past.
They are not, i have a Honda with CVT
I love the interior
The cvt transmission is not of old. The technology has progressed.
There are new videos on RUclips describing the differences.
CVT is not the same as VC-Turbo which is in this vehicle. I can understand the confusion though....
Did you add gas?!
Beautiful and comfortable car that is very responsive and sporty. This isn’t your dad’s CVT.
not compared to an x5 or x6 its more similar in size with bmw x4
Idk but that bih clean!
It is….
Infiniti has been pretty solid to me, I want another one.
At 60k+ for a fully loaded…. Hell no!
Why the heck would they put a cvt in it !?
752 Hamill Ridges
The tech is sadly obsolete…. And especially that stupid CVT! If no CVT and better tech and digital tachometer then sure! But damn Infiniti asking wayyyyy tooo much!?
the monitor looks small to me
Black trim around the fender and bumper looks terrible. Why not paint match these parts.
-cvt would consider
Dope exterior but is unacceptable that we get the same infotainment quality as their NV 200 van! 👎🏼
025 Marks Fields
2.0 turbo a centra motor for $60,000 crazy will keep driving my fx35 much better 3.5

Beautiful SUV, the CVT is a terrible addition.
It’s nice, but CVT.
I'm sorry but $61k for an outdated 8-inch touch screen and a CVT transmission is absolutely unacceptable for a luxury car in 2023.
A super responsive rubber band transmission ? HUH?
0814 River Mews
A 2.0 L engine coupled with cvt @ 60k... yea a no go for me. Infiniti do better!
That’s the same garbage infotainment system from 2014. You have to step up to the QX 60 if you don’t wanna be left with 2014 technology.
I like the old entertainment system because it allows me to play my CDs still. Yeah, I've got a lot of em.
$61k? Id get a lexus
You lost me at CVT
Want to see who is going to buy this for 😂60 k? When you can get RDX, rx350 or an X3 at this price. Dashboard and gauge doesn't fit for a luxury brand

dude mitsubishi outlander hasmore features and nicer interior than this. and drives better!

Ypu talk too fast and slur your words.
The person doing the talking needs to slow down, enunciate his word. He speaks like he has a mouth full of mush. Not a pleasant experience!
A waste of money
61 k for this? no thanks. Buick Envision drives better than this.
cvt is crap. nissan needed the 7 or 8 speed in it, and a turbo 6. we all want a new FX, not this cvt fake fx
