John denver was so talented when he was on earth but he's now entering the lord up above us and watching all of us sing his songs in honor of him wow this song is so heartfelt that it almost brought a tear to my eye, John's legacy is still alive 2day. RIP John thanks for the powerful music you gave us throughout the years
Thank you Michael Murphey for this wonderful song. I love to hear your versions as well as John's. Love it when you do it in concert and give John credit for boosting your career. Love you both!
THANK YOU for sharing this concert !! I had it on VHS but unfortunately lost it and all my OTHER recordings of John in a flood. ( Well, we lost EVERYTHING, of course. Insurance can replace furniture but not a 50+ yrs's collection of albums and video tapes of concerts and TV appearances.) So again, THANK YOU !!
When I was young I became a John Denver follower and have been since then. I really miss John to. If John Denver was here he would be very happy for the concert that you guys did in his tribute. An excellent job and concert Colorado Music Hall. JD fan. Thank you all.
Thank you for posting this concert. I hadn't seen it before and I loved it. I loved the two Jims singing Perhaps Love in this clip - in fact I loved everyone who sang on this Part 2 of the tape. And I thought Olivia did a great job of hosting the event - she is so beautiful and natural.
Jim Connor performs HIS song so Great! When I was a little bitty boy just up off the floor We used to go down to grandma's house every month end or so We'd have chicken pie, country ham Homemade butter on the bread But the best darn thing about grandma's house Was the great big feather bed It was nine feet high and six feet wide And soft as a downy chick It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs And a piggy we stole from the shed We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun On grandma's feather bed After supper we'd sit around the fire, the old folks'd spit and chew Pa would talk about the farm and the war And granny'd sing a ballad or two And I'd sit and listen and watch the fire till the cobwebs filled my head Next thing I'd know I'd wake up in the morning In the middle of the old feather bed It was nine feet high and six feet wide And soft as a downy chick It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs And a piggy we stole from the shed We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun On grandma's feather bed Well, I love my ma and I love my pa, I love granny and grandpa too I've been fishin' with my uncles, I wrestled my cousin I even kissed Aunt Lou, ew! But if I ever had to make a choice I guess it oughta be said That I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road For grandma's feather bed I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road It was nine feet high and six feet wide And soft as a downy chick It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs And a piggy we stole from the shed We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun On grandma's feather bed We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun On grandma's feather bed! So wonderful...John was there especially On 'Perhaps Love'. He'd be really proud of this concert. It was way too short! It ended abruptly ..was that the end?

When Jim Curry began to sing I started to cry. Really.
My tears came in the middle of the song. Great
Just realised that there was an extra verse to 'Grandma's Featherbed' that John left out! 😮
We wore out the 8-Track as a kid listening to Grandma's Feather Bed

When I was a little bitty boy just up off the floor
We used to go down to grandma's house every month end or so
We'd have chicken pie, country ham
Homemade butter on the bread
But the best darn thing about grandma's house
Was the great big feather bed
It was nine feet high and six feet wide
And soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On grandma's feather bed
After supper we'd sit around the fire, the old folks'd spit and chew
Pa would talk about the farm and the war
And granny'd sing a ballad or two
And I'd sit and listen and watch the fire till the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I'd know I'd wake up in the morning
In the middle of the old feather bed
It was nine feet high and six feet wide
And soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On grandma's feather bed
Well, I love my ma and I love my pa, I love granny and grandpa too
I've been fishin' with my uncles, I wrestled my cousin
I even kissed Aunt Lou, ew!
But if I ever had to make a choice I guess it oughta be said
That I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road
For grandma's feather bed
I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road
It was nine feet high and six feet wide
And soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On grandma's feather bed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On grandma's feather bed!
