- This was John's only time to be on ACL. He was there to be a part of the Will The Circle Be Unbroken, Volume 2 event. I love this song; the words are so beautiful and true. "Home is anywhere you choose to put your heart" is one of my favorite lines in the song. Unfortunately he never recorded this song on an album. We were glad to have been a part of the audience, which included our best friends, for this special night!
I'm 74 and have loved John and his music since back in the late 60's. I never got to see him in person I am sad to say. But he still sings me to sleep every night. His music talks to my heart and soul. Such a great singer and story teller. Never be another John.
He certainly turned into a butterfly, so handsome, he had everything, except happiness. RIP Henry John deutchendorf Jr, you'll always be the best......

Slight correction: though he never recorded this on one of his own albums, it’s safely preserved on “Will the Circle Be Unbroken 2”, which is where I fell in love with it. Thanks very much for uploading this marvelous live performance, which I didn’t know existed until this moment. RUclips is a great reason to be alive in these troubled times.

The Song was recorded on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album As listed above, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken, Vol. II" John's performance of "And So It Goes," and his performance of "Take Me Home, Country Roads" are both recorded..although not on one of John's own albums. ❤Such a handsome man! Glad he could ditch the glasses. Those cheekbones do much to reveal his German/Russian heritage.Thanks for preserving these performances for us.
