When no murders were happening, I was just asking every citizen if they saw anyone suspicious. I didn’t expect anything of it until to my surprise they suddenly started saying they was someone angry and gave me an address. I rushed there and got to see a murder before it happened! I stopped it from happening and knocked out and arrested the killer to save the day. But alas. I got no money from doing that. So I left without saving, camped out outside the building, then waited for the murder to happen first so I could fill out the form afterwards and get money from it lol.

Imagine if they add a morgue and sometimes the body gets moved to the morgue before you can get there, and you have to break into the morgue to analyze the body.
Also, the "let's play" note thing should point to the next victim rather than to the killer.

    • @indigoeye3874
      @indigoeye3874 Год назад +28

That is a really good idea. I had a case yesterday where that 'let's play note' was literally the only thing pointing to the killer - they had absolutely no connection to the victim and I found her lying in the middle of the street with no fingerprints or footprints. Had it not been for that note, it would have been an absolutely perfect crime. The city hall accepted the note as the proof, but realistically that could have just been planted by anyone. Pointing to the next victim would have definitely made more sense and give it an interesting challenge of protecting the next victim.

Make sure to throw the unneeded briefcase away or into the ocean otherwise it bugs out the next time you're supposed to receive a briefcase at that location.
The door wedge is an under rated reusable tool. You can block people from entering into the room you're searching by placing it where you would normally peek and pick it up when done. It's great for the rare times you reach a murder scene before the enforcers.
Removing handcuffs bugs if you've knocked them out and placed cuffs on them so to fix it you save and reload.

    • @jakejosh12
      @jakejosh12 Год назад +6

From my experience, Enforcers can still barge down the door even with a door wedge unfortunately. I’ve mostly used it when doing non-murder investigations and I don’t want the home owner coming home while I’m searching it.

  • @TheCaptainEvidence

not sure if anyone mentioned these:
    - you can use TAB to open a minimap. vent system is there as well and it's updated real time. cameras, lasers, doors, electric boxes, vents are there too, if you can see inside the room.
    - you can lean with Q and E keys. this doesn't seem to move your collision box, so you can look behind corners safely.
    - you can peek under doors. the interaction point is at the bottom of the door. visibility is quite poor, but maybe you can use it to see if there's a light turned on inside three room.
    - there's a CONNECTIONS tab on any evidence card that has everything you remember about a thing (where person lives, who lives in a flat, who works there, what fingerprints you found on an object, etc).
    - you can be robbed, with stuff stolen from your flat (or maybe that's just items despawning) but items put in a safe stay, well, safe.
    - "sugar baby" disk, I found it quite an interesting addition. it puts quite a severe kola addiction on you, so you have to slurp it quite regularly (no need to finish a can in one go). as a side effect, you pretty much always hydrated and energized. you can roleplay that is not kola, but some meds you need to constantly take.
    - when going through an office you should logout and login again (if you have a passcode) because more often than not, not a correct person is logged in (look at this as an admin logging in after work to run update or something). this will also bind a passcode to a proper person.
    - another one for the office: there's always a code for camera room somewhere in the office. I personally often find it in the kitchen or a receptionist.
    - you can use irl numpad for phone calls and keypad panels. wouldn't recommend for computer logins, it triggers keybinds there because you are technically in-game, not menu.
    - fingerprints on suitcases all point to one person. I'm not certain whether it's a bug or feature, but yeah, scanning it is pointless.

I once asked the murderer (after arresting him) about the victim, and he said "Oh yeah, I saw them at [victim's address] at [time of murder]. They seemed to be in a hurry." Just oof.
By the way, something you can do with passcodes: You can pin the notes with passcodes on your detective board and when opening doors with codes you can open the note and click the passcode to autofill the code.

I've had so many crazy cases/bugs in this game. It's so much fun.
There was one murder case where the partner was just leaving the house when I got there, but I guess the cops thought he was trespassing and shot him dead. I had the Retired Reaper case that happened just outside of City Hall on the street and the killer was the Commissioner who left a word scramble calling card. I went to her house to find evidence and as I walked out, she pulled out a machine gun and started shooting me. I had an arrest case where the only info I had were fingerprints and that they worked in a factory. I had to sneak my way through the entire factory to obtain all the employee files one by one and then run their names through the government database to find a match.
Seriously having a great time with this game. Hope there's lots of updates/bug fixes in the near future. And I'm really enjoying your play through. Btw, you can close the blinds in offices so you're less likely to get spotted.

Had my own retired Reaper case, perp was 22 and a Janitor at City Hall. Decided to wait to arrest and do a ride along for their next murder. When they decided it was time, they ran from their basement apt. to the pawn shop to buy a syringe and poison, as id confiscated thier previous ones, generating a sales receipt. Then ran to their chosen victim, lockpicked their door and slashed them.
They then did something in a room of the new victims house, that I couldn't follow, calmly walked to the bar to buy a drink, then to one of the black market tool shops to use their restroom, before heading home and going to bed.
City Hall lacks a Janitor's closet, and their place of work did not physically exist.

1:27:30 - the reason you failed one case and “missed a call” is because you accepted two vandalism cases at the same time, called both numbers for the cases right after eachother, each of which gave you a different location to be in to receive a call about each job. Meaning you basically accepted to be in two different places at once to pick up the phone and yet you can only be in one place at a time. So you only made it to one of the calls, the one you just finished when the other case failed.

    Regarding Framing:
as mentioned earlier... have some calling cards point to the next victim
have them set up a fingerprint to frame someone, but be able to double check the surveillance cameras to see if the person with the fingerprint showed up
have people know each other through other things than work or address book, like gym memberships or being a regular at a restaurant
flavor only: differing food in the different restaurants
have people report they received a threat on their life and ask for protection
have "have you seen someone suspicious" point to an eye-witness sometimes instead of the killer so you can interview that person and they say what they saw
Make emails mean something rather than just be recycled stock emails.

Would be interesting if they added DNA as a way to catch someone, like hair or blood. Maybe the victim tried to defend themselves so there is a knife on the floor with the victims print and the perps blood on the blade. Ooo maybe attempted murder cases so you can get victim statements. Or stalking to find out where a perp is, because theyre in hiding. Or "find out if my husband is cheating" . So excited for future updates from the devs!!

honestly i think this game could make all the additions they wanted regarding mechanics to track and figure out the killer like fibres or different clues that could be dropped or left behind, maybe tracks of how they broke in and also background on why they did the murder to go all the way back to who did it, seems like as of right now fingerprints linked to a couple obvious clues are the only way of telling who the killer is but the game is at such an early stage, they have a lot of potential and room to improve and make this as close to what investigating in real life would be, there are a lot of fields to cover to improve the immersion and add more variety of ways to solve and also a bigger variety of cases

Veselý! I love to see the game having names from all over the world! This surname is from my country, Czechia, and means 'Happy'. That weird 'ý' thingy just means long y (the thing above the vowel always makes it long), and it's read as 'e' in english.
Also, yesterday when I played, I foound the killer just as she was about to kill the second victim - just like you said in the video, the crumbled paper was my only lead, I didn't even have fingerprints! I quickly jumped at her and handcuffed her. And then the to-be-victim, instead of thanking me for saving his life, punched me in the face. 😅 I quickly searched her while getting beaten up and found her gun. The victim saw it and ran away, still not even thanking me or apologizing. So rude.
And while investigating this case, I had to speak to the killer's coworker, whom I coincidetally arrested not even 12 hours earlier as a side job. It was a bit awkward and she refused to tell me absolutely anything. Which, fair. 😂

Just had my craziest case so far. Got a murder notif, went to the crime scene, inspected body, fingerprint, the whole thing. Next thing I always do is go check out the victim's workplace and get all the info on their coworkers. When I got there, the foreman of the plant was already chasing an employee around with a rifle, like 4 hours after the first murder! Thankfully I already picked up some handcuffs from the city hall on my way there and was able to run up behind her and get her cuffed... jesus christ that woman was on a rampage.

The theft perp in the case at around 1 hour in looks familiar because she was the first theft perp you had in this city...and she stole the same thing the second time, just from a different person! The first person she stole from was someone she worked with.

I think the fastest case I ever solved was when the murder happened in room 402 of the building I was in. I ran up to see the neighbor walk out and go to his room. Found his fingerprints on a crumbled paper ball and walked over before the police even arrived and cuffed him

"Even the slam dunk cases are super satisfying."
That's because the world is simulated. The game isn't doing any handholding, and its not doing scaling the difficulty up if youre doing well.
When its a slam dunk, its because you put the pieces together and it feels good. When you're struggling its because you missed something, so youre frustrated with yourself, not the game.
Every case feels satisfying because of this. The developer is so good, im surprised and i love it.

I think in the future, the game could benefit greatly from an "investigation difficulty" setting where killers do not leave as much evidence until they do multiple kills. Essentially doing a similar thing to how evidence is hidden in Phasmophobia.
This would reward people who can solve cases with less evidence but as they kill more, the killer becomes more and more likely to leave evidence so you will eventually be able to narrow it down. This will also benefit people who aren't as thorough as they will eventually gather enough evidence through multiple crime scenes.

Fun fact: you can hide under the bed and under desks. Idk if there are more places but that’s what I’ve found so far.
My first murder case, I was investigating my prime suspect’s apartment when their partner came home. I quickly ducked under their bed and he ended up going to sleep while I was under there lol. That case was actually pretty intense because I actually found some emails on her computer that were literally hits. I was freaking out because she’d gotten another target and I couldn’t figure out where she was because she was unemployed so I was scared she was murdering the next person. Ended up running into her in the lobby.
Another fun fact: if you’re following someone too close they will freak out.

I have recently started to play and, oh boy, this game is fantastic! One of my favorite cases for now, is when I got murder case. Arrived on place, took some intel but police came VERY fast so I haven't much. I had to run. I used vents and moved to other house but something feels of. I find out... second body in the same period of time and in neighbor house! The same ki*ler (corpo ki*ler or something). Off course I started to asking other people around and searching begin. First my suspect was partner of first victim, because he at that hour supposed to be home but wasn't. Later on, it wasn't him so I looked into job place of both victims and it was one of their coworkers. I have possibility to figure this out at that stage only because of body build of that person (that witnesses tell me about someone suspicious). It is still little junky game with some bugs and it is funny when criminals just telling you "yea I saw victim in their apartment when they were killed, it is me"but some updates and I think we can call it even GOTY. I never saw anything similar to this, this have so much potential.

  • @nairocamilo
    @nairocamilo Год назад

I feel like one of the additions that further updates should introduce is collected evidence when you do not get to the crime scene early enough. That would mean that clues are stored in some public (and preferribly defended) institution that you'd need to infiltrate as well, AND look for the evidence pertaining to the case you are investigating.
That could even cause you to "discover" and receive bounties for other cases you weren't even aware of before.
    One hopes.

In my playthrough I've figured out who the fingerprints belong to that are all over all of the briefcases. Turns out he was the owner of the underground gambling den in my city. Kind of makes sense that he is a sort of information broker, but it hasn't helped me link anything to the cases either so it's a dead end lead for me all of the times. I wonder who the mysterious information broker could be in your city.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but regarding the Arresting the killer and not having it fill in on the case sheet. If you run into that again just close the case sheet and open it up again. The game will then realise you have filled the full name in and tick the box since the killer is arrested.
