Insym, you need to read the vandalism. It tells you the type of vandalism. Sometimes it wants you to fill the house with trash, that's why the milk works, sometimes it's just destruction, and sometimes it tells you to break windows in an apartment with no windows. Lol
@@dylanmaxey5197 it's really funny that he hasn't seen it. When he plays games he normally reads all the documents but in this game he keeps missing something so obvious. He's gonna head smack himself when he finally sees it. Lol
@@yarndragon1380 LOL so he has a bad habit of being very detailed about most things but occasionally he will form an assumption about something and then completely overlook something important and then continue to overlook that important thing.
Something I found useful when playing myself, was to make a new empty case to pin important addresses like ur home, city hall, shops and sync disk installation places for quick and easy navigation (especially useful for larger cities).
Just wanted to share this tip for anyone who might need it :) Great game and amazing series c:

Well I did just find out that if you select no case (the circle button on the top left) and try to pin something to the case, the game will ask you to create a new case allowing you to create infinite cases lol :))
You can also stick people's information in there, it's a bit cheap but you can have the finger prints of the entire city on hand if you want lol.

I think you might the right choice on the medical perks.. though I picked the 3rd one myself, I think you misread it slightly. They PAY you when you get knocked out, but only if it's not your fault.. Which I imagine comes down to slipping, falling or being mugged. I imagine it counts being killed for intruding as your fault lol.

I did read the comment about how vandalism works in this game, but I couldn't help imagine someone knocking on a neighbor of the target's door and asking for milk politely in order to trash an apartment. 😂
You want stories. Broke into suspect house was 1645hrs, picked up work schedule. Finnish time of 1700.. crap gotta get moving rushing frantically around, searched and didn't find the file damn 10 past 5. Left apartment and waited, and waited.. better check across town at the persons business. Approaching I see many speech bubbles. I get to the door. 3 people laying on the floor in a pool of blood. One guy running around with a rifle shooting the shit out of everything. Another 3 running around screaming. And one guy opening the door, going out locking the door. Unlocking Going back in and repeating forever. 😂 Omg I love this game.

Sometimes the murderer does not leave evidence, and surveillance cams can be a great help. There are cases where the killer does not show up on the specific cam, but you can see them going up or down the stairs on another floor. Also, a great way to solve a case is to ask neighbours for anything unusual they have seen. Sometimes neighbours on the floor above or below the victim's apartment can give a description of a killer, and sometimes THEY are the killer. One time I occassionally checked the door of the victim's neighbour and found the killer😆 I was very lucky because I had not found any significant evidence on the crime scene

I'm a bit late to this series, but I think the game doesn't generate murder cases if you have a full case load... You can only have 5 open cases, and murder cases force a case to be opened, so if there is no room for the case to be opened, they don't happen... just a theory, but I'm pretty confident that this is what was happening.

I haven't seen much of this game yet.. Can you play it like Thief Simulator? Just casing random people and robbing them? Is it a viable alternative playstyle?

Today I also got a murder in the streets for the first time - poor guy blasted down by a shotgun in broad daylight. I wait for the street to clear and open the local CCTV, and find around half a dozen folks in the area. I print photos and pin them all, then start asking around nearby for witnesses. I get someone who says they saw someone "short" who was suspicious looking. Only one of the people I saw on CCTV was short, so I pinned them as my prime suspect.
I decide to go to the victim's house, and I scan his front door for fingerprints to get an idea if he has a partner. Don't see any other than his, so I get ready to start picking the lock ... when his partner shows up. She opens the front door and goes inside, and I immediately knock and ask her questions. She's super nice, talking lovingly about her now deceased partner, and invites me in to look around without any issues. My head canon at this point is that she either has no idea her partner was murdered in cold blood, or she's just in shock and cooperating because of it. Regardless, I canvas the place, and hold myself off of stealing anything out of respect for this poor woman and her now dead partner. Still, I do take a look at her files and get a copy of their address book - you know, the usual.
I don't see my prime suspect in their phone directory, so I think 'coworker' might be the next avenue, but the weather has cleared and I want to canvas the area for a shell casing since the victim got blasted with a shotgun shell. When I arrive, it looks like one of the local factory's crew is undergoing a shift change, so I ask someone leaving if they saw anything suspicious. They also saw someone short, but this time they provide some more info - they looked like they were angry, and running away from the area(!). So I think to ask her if she's seen my prime suspect (A man named Arjun Kane) and sure enough, she gives the exact same description! Short, angry, running away from the area. I beam with pride and think hey! I think I found my guy! And I'd never really used the local CCTV, nor relied on witness canvassing much. 10/10 game.
... only to then discover a crumpled note at the crime scene instead of the shell casing I was hoping for that said "LETS PLAY" and had "NAKAE" as the letters to unscramble. *facepalm*
Still, 10/10 game, really just needs some polishing and some more features and I can see myself enjoying the crap out of this for hours and hours on end.
And I wouldn't have found the game without you, Insym!

I'm loving this series and game! So, my latest was the 'Date Night Reaper'. What's funny was the first of the murders I accidently happened across trying to solve a stolen item case (which hasn't resolved because it won't take the item in the mailbox.) But they became a serial killer, but I solved it cause the third victim mentioned red hair in their email (started to check the emails for the dating stuff...which was funny cause the name in those emails was the person from the theft case above), and it mentioned red hair. And the writing on the walls CAN be useful, because I got a first initial and looked through those to find the murderer.
What was weird, and I'm guessing early access jank, was the fatal wound was slashing...with a low caliber gun (I did find the utility knife that was the weapon)...but the third victim was poisoned, which the murderer had on them. So a change in MO there which was weird, and I did get the murder weapon wrong since I picked the poison over the knife.
The murderer also just casually had a skull in her apartment.
I assume people give you information not cause of upgrade only, but cause of your social level as well, it got quite high
Like, isn't it what social credit exist for?
You did say devs would improve social level feature, so, i assume they did do something, just not as obvious
Oh i Had the most frustrating murder in my game but it was also interesting i was going through the business floors looking for someone for a photography case and suddenly got a murder notification as someone started stabbing me and i 100% thought it was warning me of my murder but no apparently they killed someone on the floor above me then started stabbing me while running away XD but then the enforcers cornered off the hallway on the next floor so everytime i tried to walk to a business up there they attacked me because i had to walk through the murder scene lol

I had a mass murderer in my game. Killed 4 people before I cought him. So I investigated the first murder and found fingerprint P at the crime scene. I talked to the neighbors and got nothing. Broke into the neighbors houses and kept seeing fingerprint P. Even at the victims work was fingerprint P. It was my first stalking case. Then another person dies and there is fingerprint P, but it matches NOBODY! The third murder happens and I literally saw the guy right with the victim but when I checked him out he didn't match the elusive fingerprint P. So I told myself it can't be him. 4th murder happens and I catch him on camera again so this time I've gotta go with him. He doesn't match the fingerprint but it's too much of a coincidence. It actually was him! He was just a low life guy who lives in the basement and was killing women that lived in the same building. I never did find out who that fingerprint P belonged to.
Loving this series as much as you Observation Duty series, which is saying something.

I'm so obsessed with the series and this game, it's so fun and replayable, I think this is the most interesting and well-done project in recent months. Can't wait for future updates, they will make an already great game even better!
btw, I'm not sure if Insym has figured it out, but you can quickly find all the information about your apartment if you open the map on the case board and press the middle button in the upper left corner of the map window. I hope it will be useful to someone, because I lost my house and couldn't find it for a very long time until I discovered this feature lol
Insym, LOVE the series but could you do something about the ads? There's ads every 7 minutes and for me it ruins the immersion completely :/
Hi Insym. I think the different price for the diamonds u sold are based on their weight, just like with IRL when u are selling gems, their value are based on their weight :D

I played this on sandbox mode and when I sat on a bench to wait for my target to leave his appartment.....I just got teleported in a closet between the wall and a air duct (inside the closet, yeah). Guess who did not save ? :D Gotta start a new game now !

I did the math. If there are atleat 300 people in this city, and there are 26 letters in the alphabet, when you divide those numbers, you get 11.6. The 12th letter in the alphabet is L. So, if you were to get all of those fingerprints, the category of fingerprints you would end in would be L(whatever letter in alphabet you get to. So, once you get to the L variations in this city, you are home free. Anyway, I literally love this series. It is so fun to watch, and it is even more fun to see insym enjoy it
In my session last night I found 2 murders just in the street one after the other right outside the sync clinic lol. The second one I found way before the murder alert even happened so by the time the alert came through I had almost solved it haha.
I'm on my own seed on day 1/10 and haven't had any murder besides the very first one. I've since decided to roleplay a world renowned traveling detective and going to new cities to solve murder cases. plus I like the challenge of not knowing where everything is or who anybody is. So every now and then i start a new game to do a murder case lol.

So... I failed to resist temptation and got the game. And thus the brilliant detective James Moriarty arrived at New Amsterdam!
Their first victim was Jaquin Mathews, a filthy rich company director of Albion Inc, who lived in a penthouse with an annoying lack of vents. He was shot by a small gun in the middle of the night, clad only in his undergarments. The killer left fingerprints all over the safe, which was emptied of its contents. Due to the aforementioned lack of vents, the detective was forced to endure the indignity of squatting inside a closet while the police trampled all over the scene.
Anyway... The investigation led Moriarty to the victim's workplace, where (after a bit of venting) they found several alarming emails between the victim and their colleague. A person called 'Judge' was mentioned as someone to beware. The same person had also called the victim right before their death (possibly making sure he is alone at home?), thus the detective pinned them down as a primary suspect and decided to pay them a visit.
After some buttering up, the suspect was willing to let Moriarty into their apartment, but departed right after. Matching fingerprints were found all over the suspect's home, confirming his involvement in the murder. And so while the genius detective Moriarty was diligently digging through a trash can in hopes of locating the murder weapon, the killer was off tying up loose ends - that is, silencing the poor, well-meaning colleague of the first victim. When Moriarty, dissatisfied with the lack of finds in the killer's home, went to have a chat with said colleague, he was greeted with a fresh corpse surrounded by police officers. A potential third victim's name was found in his v-mails, but the detective would not let another tragedy happen!!! Immediately running back to the killer's apartment, the detective arrived right before him and hid (again) in a closet. (ha! he should have taken the elevator instead of the stairs! Only a serial killer would walk all the way to the eight floor!).
Here, I would like to warn anyone against saving the game while inside an elevator. It may just happen that when you try to load it, you and the elevator will not be loaded into the exact same space, which could lead to you taking a nasty fall and waking up in a hospital. Thankfully, I had several saves ready.
Back to the arrest. Killer arrived and went to bed, which provided Moriarty with the perfect opportunity to handcuff him. Unfortunately, while attempting to take prints, the suspect was instead freed of the handcuffs (it's left mouse button or right mouse button, who came up with that! QAQ) - and thus a fierce fight broke out, thankfully leading to the killer getting apprehended once again, this time for good. Even the murder weapon was found. Unfortunately, the motive was never discovered, for the killer didn't have any notes about his password in his home and had neither a job nor a safe. Based on the few clues, it can only be speculated that the first victim took part in some illegal activities alongside the killer and at some point became a liability - perhaps he wanted out and they wished to silence him? Anyway, the case was successfully closed.
Unfortunately the game had some issues connecting information about the killer, so it did not accept the fingerprints as a proof.
Altogether it was a really fun experience (despite the numerous bugs and having to reload two times) and I cannot wait for more cases. Thanks for introducing the game to me!
I got a vandalism mission to do cr2000 damage to their apartment. The only info i had was the perp was 37 years old and I had a writing sample. I went to the security room of every apartment building and pulled the records. Found 3 people who were 37 but none matched the handwriting. I had the sync upgrade that lets me know their age from a photo (also means when you inspect them in person you know their age). Couldn't complete the mission. I had the record of EVERY resident. How could they not be in there. There are homeless people in the street, but how can you vandalise a homeless persons apartment. I even started going through every business' employee records. Nothing. I swear, some of the missions are bugged.
My weird case right now, is a murder with one of those threatening promotion motives. But the business card with the treat only has the victim's prints on it, and the email they sent like, "no please don't do this to me, I need this job" stuff, is coming *from* the victim to the HR manager of the company. I'm not sure if the manager killed her, but there is no evidence linking him to the scene of the crime. It's almost like the victim killed themselves.
The troubling part is there's one of those messages that's supposed to be on the walls, but it's over the windows and curtains and is unreadable, so I'm missing out on some kind of vital clue. Idk, it has me stumped and they will probably become a serial killer.

It was my very first murder case. It took me a long time to solve it. I used CCTV, had 4 suspects and painstakingly narrowed it down to my primary suspect.
I was on my way to his work to find him when I saw him walking in the street. I decided to follow him home. I was going to arrest him when he went inside.
Only, he didn't go home. He went to his neighbors house, and slipped inside. I'm perplexed. Suddenly I hear silenced pistol shots.
I throw the door open in time to see his neighbor running past the door in his underwear with his hands in the air screaming for someone to save him. And save him I did. I don't know how I won a fist fight with him when he had a gun, but I did.
With the perp subdued and in handcuffs, and his neighbor safe and sound, I had a celebratory looting of the house. Payment for saving his life.
OMG Insym you didn't lock your apartment door when you left!!!! Imagine if someone came to rob you, that would actually be a funny mechanic to have that makes it more immersive with the realistic consequences
Finally played a character to retirement. Only took 8 ingame days, but now I'm going to play Insym's seed.
Oh and Insym? You can order food/drink from the menus on the tables if there are no employees around.
Insym: I keep the city relatively safe.
Also Insym: breaks into houses, steals diamonds and money, gets innocent people in handcuffs or beats them until they are unconscious and harass citizens by asking them for their fingerprints :D

I had a stolen case that had been done a week ago, and it literally took me like an extra week, possibly two to finally solve it, because I was busy doing murders and other side cases, but I finally did find it and I do think the motive was poverty, because two of her friends that had it were living like in the slums, and they were both unemployed, and just not doing well financially, while she lived in like a bougie apartment. Also, during that time I was investigating her coworkers to see if they knew something and I approached the one right outside her work she then tried to rob me I said no so she beat the crap out of me knocked me out drugged me and I woke up in the far empty room corner of this building. It was so weird. I don’t know if that’s a feature or a glitch because I normally wake up in a ward bed, but it was concerning
also, I'm a bit slower at the game, but i keep a custom case tab to keep track of different VIP info, like addresses (home, pawn, sync, bars, secret shops), people, code words, etc. It takes up 1 case space but its nice to have all that quick access info so i don't have to look it up.
Dont feel too bad about targeting the wrong person. I raided an apartment and using the sword 1 shot both people inside and arrested them. Searching for the evidence to confirm the murder weapon, I realised I went into the apartment NEXT to the one I meant to go to. Luckyily I didn't get suspended with pay
This game is fantastic. It's definitely in need of some work though. I arrived to my first murder scene and there was no body. Only piece of evidence is a business card that reads "didn't have what it takes" and writing on the wall "put a pin in it. There were two fingerprints, however the murder was outside so it really could be anyone.
The fingerprint system is way too OP. In reality a judge most likely wouldn't even allow fingerprints as evidence because it's very subject to interpretations.
This is the only game I've played where I ran into even more bugs than you lol. I constantly clip through the floor and fall several floors down. I'm currently working on a murder case where there was no body to be found.. was able to figure out who was murdered thanks to some initials on the wall. I think I'm gonna have to wait for another murder to be able to catch the killer though, because there are no spent rounds or fingerprints or notes, just the writing on the wall and floor.
Man the weather in these cities are terrible, I doubt anyone living there remembers how the sun looks like.
I just learned how to properly use the trackers for telling me when someone gets home so I don’t have to wait around all day and so I could track a person so I could arrest them in private so the citizens wouldn’t beat the snot out of me. It was interesting because I saw them go to a weapons dealer to prepare for his next murder. It still surprises me after so many hours of playing how alive the city is.
I wonder if you haven't gotten a murder case because you have a bunch of side cases open? I could be completely wrong, but I think its worth testing.
Mayby the game cant generate new murder cases because you always have 5 active. Also you can open one board just for miscellaneous notes, like milk house address:)
When you have the picture of the suspect you can just start asking randos if they've seen them, i had completely forgotten about that until i misclicked into that question and the 2nd person i asked gave me their building address, after that it was easy

I had a case where a lady was killed outside a diner. I checked the street footage and no one except her walked by the nearby streets at the time. Turns out, the killer worked at the diner, left while at work, shot the victim, then went back to work lmao. He left a toy car with fingerprints at the scene, that's the only reason I figured it out.
Assuming that the vandalism type matters as someone else caught in the comments, then I think the issue with the kicking down the door is maybe it tracks how you get in there in the first place - so you have to kick the door down to get in initially, and can't cheese it by lockpicking the door, relocking it and then kicking it down?
I've seen steam reviews that say that game is 'bugging out' after few days and murder cases no longer occur in the world. I wonder if that's the truth, and the reason why murders don't happen for you anymore.
Instead of beating the person up so you can enter wait for them to close the door the run at the door and right click. You will hit them with the door knocking them out and you can continue investigating. Make sure a second person isn't living there before barging the door.
I bought this game cus of Insym, and the first person I saw in-game ran away after i asked them a question. So I gave chase, just for them to run into someones apartment and stab them to death xD
