Tried this badboy at the range the other day and it was a monster... luckily it was so expensive I couldn't justify the impulse buy and quickly ran away 😃
Recently bought the TSR2...but also like the feel of the Ping. Love to be able to have both in bag if I can, but had to choose only 1, so the TSR2 was the winner.
So I just had a driver fitting yesterday and both of these made it to my final three. I ultimately went with the G425 Max because it was much more consistent. As a 7 handicap, I average a 110 mph club head speed and generally hit it about 280 yards, but the TSR2 and TSR3 were significantly more difficult to control. I’m not sure why, but was disappointed because the new Titleist drivers are sexy as hell. Unfortunately, they just didn’t fit me well. However, the G425 Max was long and surprisingly consistent. But I hate the sound. 💯
I actually went in to get fitted for a driver the day the TSR was available for demo. Really nice club, but I ended up going with the G410. The TSR would probably be the better choice if I was a better golfer, but I’m still new and the ping was easy to hit.
@@jayfron6012 Yeah, I’m in the same boat. I really wanted the TSR or TM Stealth to fit me best, but we all struggled with the TSR. Even more surprising was how incredibly easy the Ping was. I’ve never owned a Ping product, but this driver is fantastic and I can now better understand why MyGolfSpy rated it the number one overall driver for both mid Swing speeds and high swing speeds.
@@BuffaloBarber24 Ironically, the Stealth was the driver I wanted going into the fitting, primarily because my brother was recently fitted into it and loves it. Admittedly, the ball speed was consistently better on the stealth, which equated to longer carry and total distances. However, nothing appeared to be as consistently straight as the Ping, which is why I went with it. As a side note, the TSR drivers, Stealth, and Callaway Rogue ST all had higher ball speed numbers than the Ping, at least for me. But if my choice is hitting a ball 5-7 yards further overall versus being in the fairway, I'm going to want to be in the fairway. I think it's also important to note that, in my opinion, there is no best driver for everyone. Rather, I believe there is a best driver per person. And what's best for me may not be what's best for my brother, or you, or another person. So, as much as I loved the look of the TSR, and as much as I loved the sound of the Rogue ST, and as much as I wanted a swanky Carbon faced Stealth driver, I just couldn't in good faith NOT choose the G425 Max, no matter how bad it sounds, because it's just so incredibly easy to hit accurately.
the thing about the g425 max is its the most forgiving driver ever. the reason so many people have it in the bag is because they know even on a bad swing they will hit the fairway. yes other brands make faster longer drivers like titleist but for the average golfer nothing competes with the g425 max. its the most sold driver in the UK for a reason.
before all the stratch players hit me up just realise, only 1% of people who play golf hit scratch and make full use out of a driver. a lot more people need to hit the fairway than reach 115mph clubhead speed.
I’ve been playing the G425 Max for a year, and I don’t find it much more forgiving than any other driver. What I have found is, it’s shorter than other drivers I’ve tested. I just switched to the TSR2, and I feel it’s just as forgiving as the Ping, but longer by 7-10 yards.
What shaft were you using in the TSR2? If it’s the 1K, IMO it’s a superior shaft to the Ping Tour. Far more stable and would account for the better strikes. Up until this year, 1K shafts we’re a $350 upgrade. The Ping tour is stock.
I've had the Ping G425 Max on demo recently and hit the TSR2 on the range last Friday. The Ping goes very well, very stable - it just feels dull and sounds muted. If you can get over that, the Ping is a beautiful club. My TS2 (with Tensei blue 55g shaft) actually went better than the TSR2 (with Tensei blue 55g shaft) on the range, possibly mostly down to my mid-size grip on my existing TS2 mitigating the low draw. Otherwise the TSR2 sounds and feels exceptional. I'll very likely buy it - with a mid-size grip.
I also had the Cobra LTDx and LTDx LS on demo, with various shafts. On the first round with them, I hit my longest ever drives on 4 of the holes on my local course, that's in 2.5 years and without trying to smash it. They go miles, and are at near identical price to the TSR2 (at least here in South Africa). I think they're worth looking at if you're looking at the TSRs.
I saw amazing numbers with the TSR2 head over my TSI3 gamer. Want something that is more point and shoot, 2 head fit the bill. Approached 180 bs when I went at it.
13 handicap I moved from the 410 to 425 LST 9• and my number changed pretty significantly. Super consistent and straight to little fade. Increased BS and distance 15-20%..such a great club
Were you playing the 410 plus? I currently have the 410 plus and want to upgrade so bad… it’s treated me well, but I’m sick of it and its high spin rate. I’m thinking of either the 425 LST or the Qi10 standard.
Today I had a driver fitment to replace my tour edge c721. I tested the Aerojet, the paradym, g430 max, e723 and the Tsr2. On average I could swing the Tsr2 at 110mph 3mph faster then the rest, and the Tsr2 had 5mph better ball speed on average at 157mph. It was second in dispersion to only the paradym that had a tight group 20m left of centre. The TSR has 2 down the middle and 3 left of centre 20m. First off I hit my driver then all the others to narrow it down to the paradym, Aerojet and tsr2. Then had 5 with each of those to pick the winner. Tsr2 took the win for me giving me gains of around 7mph in ball speed and on average 15 metres of carry and 18 metres overall.
This is why such RUclips channels are nice to see, but gives me no relevant information because mid HCP and massive inconsistency is something different
tested this TSR2 and it flew about 5 yards further than my Ping G425 max, would i say its better than the Ping maybe but for me the Ping felt more stable and i was left and right with the TSR so will carry on as normal.
Played with a friend that is a very good golfer and he plays the new Titleist driver. I game the Ping G425 LST and I am a high handicap. When I hit my Ping well we would be sitting next to each other in the fairway.
Count me in the camp of Ping sound is non-starter. I’m looking at the TSR3 as even my Mizuno ST220G is just too loud and tinny sounding. Quiet and solid wins every time.
I had the TSR2 for 2023-2024 and it was an improvement from what I had, but I never had that "wow" moment. In May 2024, I traded the TSR2 for a G425 and it was a revelation, I could swing as aggressively as I wanted and knew I would be forgiven for the mishits.
Im doing all the research possible on the Ping 425 max or the lst was of scratch in 2019 but playing 6 @ the moment always had problems with driver so stuck to the mini drive original 1 , but with ping being as forgiving as the y say I may buy a second one G425 YOUR INFORMATION was valuable for me 🤙

Have a look on TXG ...
You’ll be surprised with the test Ian done on ball speed
What’s the point in ball speed if it’s in the trees…
The difference between the two : CLASS. Titleist has it, Ping doesn’t………..
is this a 2023 model compared to a 2021 model , good comparison . :)
Not sure about this. More information needed as the average golfer would never reach these figures with any driver.
PING #1
I like PING!
I don't care how the Ping performs. I find the looks off-putting and can't get over it...
But the ping is so forgiving so I’d sacrifice the few extra yards
Ping sounds and looks horrendous, much prefer the tsr2
Seems like the Rogue ST Max took the crown as the most forgiving driver. Do you think the TSR2 beats it?
Did u try tour exoctics c721 driver .best driver I've hit in a long time .didn't expect it either .
New one is better. There is a surprise.
Strange that you don't wear a glove
That ping driver is honkin
Bye Bye G425Max, your sound will not be missed
Would love the Ping but just can’t stand the look of it.
About 95% sure I’m buying the TSR3 🎉
Why would anyone go with the Ping?
It’s down on club and ball speed, shorter and sounds shite!
Titleist all the way, no brainer.
i will say this ... smash factor is the biggest over hyped thing most of you guys talk about , it means very little
Please explain….
