Just picked up my TSR2 yesterday. 9.0 degree loft , Hzdrs Red CB 6.0 50g shaft. This awesome video covers everything, terrific! Just last month I compared G430 max and Paradym to TSR2 and my old gamer 2016 M2. TSR2 had the best ball speed, smash and most consistent back spin. Love the feel/sound of the TSR2, g430 max was second and Paradym was my least favorite. Ordered my TSR2 on the spot with a -2 g back weight since I had 2ndSwing install my midsize 43g Winn Dri-TAC LITE grip which is about 10g lighter than the stock grip. D3.5 is the final Swingweight also custom ordered it with the cog set at C4. After 2 years of playing my 2016 M2 it was time to retire it.
I'm not sure what testing both Drivers in their standard settings actually achieved other than demonstrating that neither Driver was optimised for your swings? In H2H comparisons it would make more sense IMHO to test them in their optimised settings so that you set what happens when they are both maxed out.
Had a driver fitting a few weeks ago and I was coninced I was going to end up with the Ping G430 but ended up with the TSR2 It was longer and for me much more accurate and the more I hit it the better it gets. So I am certainly with Dan on this one and it does look beautiful
Wow- whatever works. Now you have to go play a half dozen rounds or so and confirm you're still hitting the Titleist as well as you did at your fitting. Then you should certainly know you have what works best for you this year! I wanted to ask you why you were convinced you were going to have the best results with the Ping?! I'm scheduled to be my fitting next week for this year. Haven't hit any of the new drivers. I ask because I've been fitted to the Ping since the g410 & G425. I love both of them. I have the best numbers with Ping and maybe even more importantly is how forgiving they are in terms of being fairway finders. That's pretty big for titleist that you were more accurate with the Titleist. Been Pretty well-known how accurate and forgiving Ping drivers are finding fairways. Maybe it'll change for me this year from Ping to Titleist. I always go into my fittings with an open mind
@@BuffaloNickel9 The best driver I ever had was the Ping G30 but unfortunately it split on the hosel. so know how good Ping drivers are. I hit the G430 really well but then my Pro said try other drivers Stealth Paradym etc, Then the Titleist TSR2 and it was longer and more accurate. It felt absolutely great in my hands. It is preforming well on the course. One of my playing partners had a similar experience. I can honestly say its been the best driver I have ever hit so would suggest you give it a try
I still can't believe this channel hasn't got to 100k subs. The RUclips algorithm is woeful at times. The amount of effort that goes into your vlogs deserves a push.
I bought g430 last week. I had g410. Played through week just fab, no matter we’re hit it goes straight. Something you haven’t talked is size of ping. It just give so much confidence. I will by the g440 in two years time.
G430 LST went in the bag a month ago… main reason was not top end distance which was easily Stealth 2, but dispersion L to R and also front to back.. none of the other drivers got near to the G430 for consistency.. as 1 handicapper this was more beneficial to me than the extra 5-10 yards the other brands were giving me.. 💥💥👍👍
I just bought the Ping 430 LST with the Ping black 2.0 shaft. There was a 1000 spin difference between the 430 max with the red hazadous shaft and what I bought.
TSR3 with Tensei AV Blue S-flex 67 gram in 10 degree. I wanted the adjustable back weights. 10 degree may not go as long as 9 degree, but the loft is somewhat easier to hit. I will give up distance for a little easier to launch straighter and higher.
Great review gents. I will be scheduling a driver fitting this spring and unfortunately I won't be testing either driver. They look great and have wonderful stats, but at $800+ CDN, they are not in my price range.
Tested Ping, Callaway, TM, Cobra and TSR2. Found the extra inch on the TM shaft a pain (I’m short), didn’t like the feel of the cobra and it didn’t work for me, ping was good but didn’t feel as good, callaway and TSR2 performed the best for me, but went on feel and looks in the end and went with the TSR2. Did have to give into age a little and move to a 10 degree but carrying it to where my old Sim Max used to finish and can’t wait for the dry hard ground to see what the TSR really has in it.
I agree I have the tsr2 and I absolutely love it it’s certainly the driver I’ve had the best results out of and I’ve tried lots of drivers before settling for the tsr
Put the tsr2 in the bag. Most forgiving driver I've hit. Game improvement driver. Fitter added some lead tape behind the toe to improve moi with toe hits as that's my miss. Working well.
Just got fitted for G430 max driver 5 wood and hybrid moved from Wilson waiting on clubs to be delivered but I’m gaining yards and I was fading the ball instead of slicing so let’s see how I do on the course biggest upgrade I’ve done
I'm going for a fitting soon, and these are the two clubs I want to try out, I've hit my mates tsr2, and it really comes off the face quick. I had the first ping driver with the turbulators, and that went well. I tried the 425, but the noise was a put off, so it'll be interesting to see what the 430 is like. Really good comparison video 👍👍
Just swapped into the TSR3, was in the Mavrik. TSR3 is just stunning 😍 had to have it. The sleeve is really annoying though, Callaway is certainly the winner there. Once I'm sure it is set up right I will get the shaft reset. Annoyingly though, I do like to change settings when I'm playing a particular course, e.g. windy links. 👍
Love my TSI3 that I have had for a while. Took a TSR2 out on the course at my club and really tempted to change. Just that bit more forgiving and I still seem to get the distance.
I went to the TSR2 Driver 10° Mitsubishi 55 regular flex from the G425 Alta CB 55 regular due to the fact that the TSR2 lowered my spin to around 2150 rpm average from 2700 rpm with my G425 ( which helped this old man to pick up about 8 - 10 yards off the tee)...that said I have a TSR2 5 wood and TSI2 4 hybrid but changed to the G430 5 (set minus 1° to 17°) and 7 woods as my decent angles with the Ping fairway woods were more condusive to holding greens and the distance differences carry wise were within a yard or two. As you gentlemen have stated not much between the two and both are very good Drivers.
I have the Ping G425, tested the 430 but gained nothing, sound and looks don't have an effect on the ball. I stand over a drive feeling like I can put it in the fairway, that is what is important to me. Crooked and short off the tee is not a good combo, so will stay with the Ping.. still short but rarely crooked.
Nice comparison DHG. As an opinion we are all different. Some like the pear shape of the Titleist some don't. Some like the sound etc. From a personal point of view my experience of both brands is very different. Titleist stuff is for better players who find the middle more often than not. Ping are for the masses, they are forgiving and when we find the middle they do go well. But when we don't the ball still goes quite well. Not tried either of these drivers and probably won't. Not in the market for a new driver but if I was potentially I would try them.
I gave up a little distance for accuracy I got the Ping G430 SFT Ping Alta quick 45 senior flex 10.5 set at 11.5º of loft, it got rid of my slight fade and gave me a slight draw that I have with all my clubs. My driving stats are 81% of fairways hit 3% left 12% right just looking for that little bit more my home course left is safer. I'm 70 years old my driver carry is about 215 yards and I'm fine with that. The Ping replaced a Mizuno ST190 hl Fujikura atmos red senior flex 10.5 set at 11.5º of loft. I actually got fitted into a full Ping bag G430 max 3 wood, g430 4 hybrid, g430 6 through 54º irons.
The TSR 2 and 3 are super amazing. I also bought the 3 and 5 wood TSR2 Fairway woods. Best golf purchase ever besides my Scotty Cameron putter and Vokey Wedges.
I have the Tsr2 in my bag. Best looking driver and I love it. Played sim max before and this one is miles better. Tried the g425 before I bought the Titleist and I hated the sound.
I still use Titleist TS2 I cant better it. I would not chage the Titleist surefit design I like the consistency. If I did get a new titleist driver I would want to keep my Hzrdus Smoke shaft so its an easy swap. My golf mate has upgraded to the TSR2 and i still out drive him most of the time i dont see much difference at my level. Thanks For the video. Mike.
Dan’s most interesting number to me was the launch angle difference. Is it the shaft that causes the difference? Ive always found the Ping to launch high, perhaps too high. I’ve heard that Ping head is a little heavier than most, which explains why Lee’s speed was down v the Titleist.
Anyone with a foresight knows when driver spin drops sub 2200rpms the "algorithms" calculate a boosted carry distance, most noticeable when comparing directly vs trackman.
The tsr2 looks much better than the tsi2, but by no means does it look as good as the tsr3. I hit them both in my fitting and fit into the tsr3. They both look good, but the 2 spins too much, and the 3 looks and sounds better while spinning less and keeping a lot of the 2's forgiveness.
I was fitted for the Ping430, must be the only player on the planet that didn’t get on with it, too spinny and insipid, might have been the fitting. Purchased a TSR2, and immediately gained distance, great dispersion both ways, easy to hit and looks the dogs, bye Ping. Luckily Ping drivers hold their price, so used it for 3 months at £50 cost, and purchased the TSR 2 for only £290 so quids in, happy days.
I used g425 which is good for accuracy but hitting sound is horrible. I took into account to pick between g430 and tsr2 but finally, i choose tsr2 because the shape and sound are much better than g43o. ecpicially I bought tsr2 for only $350 which is good deal.
Testing with the new drivers still puts my TSR2 with a GD Tour AD DI-5S longer than the G430, even with the same shaft in the G430. The stock Ping Alta Shafts just suck.
Hi Dan, just a thought. What if the ball changes going forward at elite level. Can we call our local pro a pro as they would not be playing on an equal footing. Also would the average golfer be happy not being able to play there hero's equipment but still having to pay premium prices . Good video
I was playing g425 LST(because i didn't like the sound of the MAX and wanted more distance) and i found that with my average club speed of 95-100mph, if i wasn't hiting the ball in the center of the club my distance payed the price. So this year i got fit for the g430 MAX for more forgiveness(and better sound 😁) I've tried the g430 LST but again not enough club speed(95-100mph)for distance, and i was fading alot with LST. The g430 MAX is the perfect fit for me for distance, accuracy and forgiveness. 😏🏌
Big fan, I have the white ones and used them is Spain in my last trip, just waiting for the weather to improve ☔️ to get them back out. You getting some ?
The Ping max is not a low spin driver, especially for your swing speeds, a better comparison would be the Ping LST, I swing 90 mph and not much difference except accuracy on the max and at that speed my spin is about the same on both Max and the LST...I vote for a rematch using you two hit the LST this time, and try the Tour version stif shaft that comes with LST and Max.
I'm not sure why Titleist can't make their adapter into a dual cog system like the Callaway. I've heard Callaway has a patent on that tech....might be wrong??
Really I found the ping drivers awful like a can on a stick which totally put me off. The turbulators as well are not a good look tbh far too busy and probably achieve nothing to make them worth being there.
@@midhc5072 all marketing bs to sucker people into thinking they will gain clubhead speed/distance. It’s one of those things no one can really prove or disprove so they stick with it.
I think it’s because they are all pros and it’s something they have in common. Pro at my club is the same. Average guy,gal should put performance first in my opinion. I have a g425 sft fairway finder. Thank you Ping.
Subjective no empirical value to any of these tests as you would need a robot to validate these results.Too many variables impinge upon the real world statistics of any golf clubs ,it’s down to the person hitting it nothing else (end of rant)
Damn good rant because it's 100% true at the end of the day it's down to the user. Every time I've seen a *robot test* comparison of the newest drivers, they always come out *within 1-2 yards +/-* The coefficient of restitution (how hot a face can be) was *reached well over a decade ago.* Meaning by #'s no driver has a hotter face than another one. (Not enough to matter anyways.) *Distance lies in the user,* each user will have different variables in swing speed, spin rate, shaft, height, flexibility, impact, etcetera, etcetera. What that means is I could hit the ( results from last yr) Ping G425 290 carry, Titleist TSR 286 carry, and only hit the Stealth carrying 279 same day, same balls, same shaft. The next gentleman could come up and carry the Ping 273, Stealth 276, and the Titleist 280. He'll likely choose the Titleist whereas I'll choose (and I have) the Ping! The third guy could come up and hit the stealth longer than the other two.. he's likely going to choose the Stealth. Done. Whatever works for you is what you should choose! I'm a good bit longer with the Ping, & I find the *Ping by far the most forgiving driver in the game to find Fairways.* Now, I think Ping's forgiveness has been proven by robot tests. It was a no-brainer for me last year I'll repeat this process again this year at demo day for a 2-hour session on trackman next week to see if anything changes. I welcome whatever driver gives me the best numbers. I'm only taking drives that hit the Fairway to give me my numbers.
That's the whole point. We are not robots. Adding some human error into testing is giving it a more credible outcome imo. Especially when you have 2 testers on the same day that deliver the club pretty well, but not perfectly.
The TSR line is still the best in class even in 2023. I am gaming the TSR3 8 degree with the Ventus black 6x. It is an absolute ball speed machine. TSR is the Darth Vader of drivers destroying all foes with no remorse. 🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥🥷

Mid spin not high spin
Callaway opti-fit has that technology

My tsr will be here this week 😁

That was great. I hit a draw with the ping g430 . Sound is much better and a Ventus tr shaft in either of those drivers is a good fit.

True but I gave a very fair review and Titleist know I am happy to talk up or down their products 😉
Without watching 8 would assume it’s not the Ping
You will have to test tHe titleist against the new ping 10k
Dont believe there 10 yards difference I test these club plus the st rogue with same shaft and there all the same. I like spin around 2500
No apples to apples, different shafts, end of story
Subjective no empirical value to any of these tests as you would need a robot to validate these results.Too many variables impinge upon the real world statistics of any golf clubs ,it’s down to the person hitting it nothing else (end of rant)
Good rant
Ping user I’m guessing?
@@awalsh8011 To be fair the low spin shaft is always going to go further
Damn good rant because it's 100% true at the end of the day it's down to the user. Every time I've seen a *robot test* comparison of the newest drivers, they always come out *within 1-2 yards +/-*
The coefficient of restitution (how hot a face can be) was *reached well over a decade ago.* Meaning by #'s no driver has a hotter face than another one. (Not enough to matter anyways.)
*Distance lies in the user,* each user will have different variables in swing speed, spin rate, shaft, height, flexibility, impact, etcetera, etcetera.
It was a no-brainer for me last year
I'll repeat this process again this year at demo day for a 2-hour session on trackman next week to see if anything changes.
Im getting tsr
How can you compare the two. Everything needs to be the same, ESPECIALLY the shafts! Sheeesh 🙄
Low spin shaft vs high spin shaft. Not a fair comparo
Do you feel like there's a gap with forgiveness between the these two? 👍
5:30 HIT THE BALL, stop talking. Your reviews are getting extremely long winded.
The TSR line is still the best in class even in 2023. I am gaming the TSR3 8 degree with the Ventus black 6x. It is an absolute ball speed machine. TSR is the Darth Vader of drivers destroying all foes with no remorse. 🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥🥷
