HARD DROP! iPhone XS Max with No Touch - How To Bottom Board Swap - Sandwich Repair

- The iPhone XS Max Logic Board is actually made up of 2 logic boards sandwiched together. The problem with this design, is that after hard drops, the 2 layers can separate. In some cases, the bottom board itself breaks & needs a bottom board swap.
So I will have to replace the whole bottom board & swap over Baseband CPU, WiFI & Baseband Eeprom data. This repair takes a while, so sit back & relax, cuz this is going to be a long one.

Thanks brother. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect as far as ripped pads. Being the bottom board was physically broken. Luckily it was an easy pad to fix

This isn’t feasible to do as a 1st or 2nd project, huh? I don’t think I have the tools, so I wish I knew how to ask a shop if they’d be willing to give it a go. I’m pretty dang sure my screen is good and the digitizer is connected, so this sandwich bump seems to be my problem. Thanks for the video; well done!
Definitely not for a beginner nor an intermediate level soldering tech.
Where are you located? If you're in the USA, I accept mail in repairs. If you're outside of the USA, I'd recommend calling repair shops near you and ask if they offer microsoldering repairs, and if they can do "sandwich" repairs

Actually, the front camera was fine. I was testing in my tester housing which wasn't the original cam. In the customer's housing, cameras worked fine.

Unfortunately no. The bottom board is physically broken in this case.
I have question about that:
If I use one half from another motherboard and the other half from the other motherboard, will the phone turn on?
for data recovery only ?
Yes you can use another bottom board for data recovery

When i do it from app store, it says zis version does not support zis app, n somethg abt IOS 14. I wld be very gratefull if some1 can help how 2 do it step by step as a new 2 an iphone. Thanks.

Wait a minute! So by board swapping to the icloud board the phone will still work for day to day use ? Like where is the icloud stored on the motherboard ?
No. the iCloud is based of the IMEI. I am keeping the same main board. This is not an iCloud lock device nor a iCloud lock removal process.

Nope. It uses the IMEI in BBCPU, which you cannot replace.
jesse is there anyway to copy over the eeprom data without that programmer? or using a different programmer with soldering wires to the board manually? i'd rather not touch the eeprom chip and risk breaking it!
yes you can use any eeprom programmer. run jumpers from the SDA, SCL, 1v8 and gnd pads to the programmer
