The Bentley is a beautiful car & you certainly made this diecast into a beautiful model, green is my favorite color of many, another great restoration Martin my friend👍,take care see ya on the next restoration.👋🐊😎🚚🚒🛻🛺
Oooh, I do like that Martin and it’s one I haven’t got, so I will keep an eye open for one. A beautiful sympathetic restoration my friend and looks stunning on the turntable - nicely done! 👏👏👏. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, thanks very much, my friend yes iam happy the way it cleaned up. Considering its age ,I have some catching up to do on your videos by the looks of things. All the best Martin
Not only did you start with one of my favourite car styles, from a great era of automotive design, you restored it to the condition it deserves to be in! Magnificent job, Martin! ☕🍁👍
Great job as always Martin. 👍 Thanks for showing how you do the painting, you made it look easy and straightforward. I must try some more spray painting on my models.
Great resto Martin lovely finish on it , would love to see the real version of the rover they look fantastic cars must have had a fair old engine in it , look forward to your next video
Lovely job. Thank you for all the good advice and demonstration of techniques that you use. The only little error that I noticed was that the replacement radiator grill is for a Vauxhall. The radiator grills on this range of Dinky Toys were all slightly different according to the shape of the grill on each marque.
Thanks, David. I will definitely have a look at that. I had 2 in the bag, and I probably picked up the wrong one . Thanks for spotting that ,all the best Martin
Martin, I grew up with very few Dinky toys as I live in the States. I'm much more familiar with Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Corgi and Corgi Jr, so it's a bit of a treat to get to see old Dinkys. Other than the Space 1999 Eagle, I don't believe I had any other Dinky toys as a kid. Anyway, this turned out great! Obviously these old cars are of thin metal which has become more brittle over time, so I think you did the best you could with it, and it looks fantastic! You made it work, and made it look like a winner!
Thanks very much loston, yes we were the other way round we in the UK didn't have hot wheels for years or some of the other great toys like tonka ,when thay did arrive here thay were not the complete range just bits and bobs .the Eagle is a good one to have had though. All the best Martin
Hi mate love it they certainly had style back then wonderful shape. I don't know if you saw Marty's matchbox makeovers but he uses those spring multi grips that have the turn knob on the end to adjust them and he grinded the tips so they were smooth. They seem to work well on the axel ends. Then he tidy's up the ends with a small cutting wheel on his dremel. It's getting flippin hot 🥵here in SA up into the 40s so are dreading it when we have to go out. My lap top is playing up 😫and I'm not getting notifications of new vids and comments so I apologise if I answer a bit late. Getting Juliet AKA THE WIZ to work on it so I hope she can fix it. See you on the next one mate.👍🏻
Hi Geoff yeah I watch marty when he puts a video up ,the tool we call it a pair of mole grips, unfortunately the axle thickness is a lot thicker on these the matchbox ones are thinner and easily squeezed together, unless like some do is to change the axle for a softer type ,I do have another idea 💡 but I need to try it first. All the best Martin
That is a lovely restoration, love the colour, a majestic looking stance to it on the old magic at the end. That front grill does look well made, was it from model supplies or did you get it on eBay? Lovely job, all the best, Nick🐸🐸
Hi Martin another good restoration well done did you get your gas bottle also where do you get your costic from as here in Cheshire shops cannot find any only off Amazon 😊
