Thanks nick, yeah the 101 colour I had a look on Google images and blue in different shades seemed popular so I went with that .the caravan inside was an idea I have had for a while ,and I had some bits and bobs left over from some small room models that I have been doing ,so I used those parts . Glad you liked it ,I see your one on the back of a trailer, my very first car was the model before the 101 more rounded and full of rust holes . All the best Martin

I found drilling the posts out on these caravans is the biggest PITA. Some of them have a paper 'carpet' glued to the floor, I guess it got ripped out. Can't think of any other Dinky's that have that paper chrome on the window either. Love the colours on the Caravan and the interior is awesome, that little plant is stunning.

The dinky Austin 1800 had the silver effect window surround, but the taxi version 1800 did not. The early dinky 151 vauxhall victor 101, both yellow and that redish colour had silver window detailing with the C reg on number plate, but later issues with the D reg prefix don't appear to have it on the ones I've seen.
I was a bit busy last week and I'm trying to catch up with watching videos now. This restoration is absolutely brilliant, the caravan interior looks absolutely superb, and the 101 is a favourite of mine because my dad bought a brand new 101 Deluxe in 1966. I think even now in 2024 the 101 is still a good looking car. Hope your wife continues to make a full recovery. Very best wishes to you both. Peter.

Getting it moving isn't the problem stopping it is the biggest problem that's why thay brought out rules for towing, and stabilisation gadgets, to stop it from snaking, Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Martin what a lovely job that interior on the van looks fantastic especially the seat cushions. It's amazing this Vauxhall witch is made by England's cousin of the Australian Holden both GM company's looks a lot in the front and doors like a Holden HR witch I think came out in 67 it came with a high completion six cylinder 186 engine. Blooming hot here 🥵been in the 40s all week my poor plants in the front garden despite being watered every night are shrivelling up. I'm hopping they will revive when it cools down next week. And today the blooming fridge blew up and we are busy researching new fridges that fit in the space in the cupboards where it go's. GRRRRR 😣 I suppose I shouldn't complain we bought it new in 1991 and haven't had any problems with it in all that time. The fridge bloke recons he can't get the parts. 😭Oh well you look after that lovely woman of yours and I hope you have a wonderful trip in the van stay safe keep well over the left hand side and I'll catch you on the next one. 👍🏻And remember you never get lost towing a caravan there's always some bugger behind you telling you where to go.😂😂

I would say just about ,it's not so much the pulling of a van it's about stopping the thing ,if it's to heavy it would burn the car brakes out when going down hill or slowing down ,this is one of the reasons thay brought out safety guide lines for towing caravans and trailers .

The colour of that caravan is spot on for the period. Vauxhall 101's were big cars but seriously underpowered in their day.

Your best bet would be to look up the corgi vanguard range or atlas range ,both have a good model selection.
