A great start to 2025 with a cracking restoration. I think Jeeves will be sacked for leaving the Rolls in such a state 😂. Nice colour choice top marks with the details. Window trim is the icing on the cake. All the best. Cheers Chris 👍🏼🇦🇺🦘👍🏼
A fiddly little fart, but you got it done and dusted in beautiful blue, very nice. Thanks for showing it all. You and the crew have a wonderful New Year and we'll keep watching and learning with you. Cheers, Martin, take care!😁❤👍🎉🎊✨
This Rolls Royce really needed some help! Blue paint and chrome look great, pearl looks really good. The little details came out very nice. Thanks for showing what paint you used, always appreciate learning what different people use on their projects (same with glue/polish). Awesome work as usual my friend, complete transformation! Hope you have an amazing day! 😁👍👍
Great work, Martin and thanks for creating this video. Interestingly, these were referenced as 'Chinese Eye' Rolls Royces by the classic car trade up until six or seven years ago. I guess the PC police caught up with the trade and the term has now disappeared from their description of them.
Thanks Simon, yes I did read that and thought you couldn't say that now because someone would get offended, who wasn't even Chinese. All the best Martin
Happy new year to you and the family, great restro again, thought it was one of the paint your own kits when you picked it up,only had the hurricane in those but great cheap kits.
Another great restoration Martin. This is an excellent video to start 2025, I think the 1950's to about 1970 models were peak for both Corgi and Dinky with rubber tyres and great detail. I agree those bonnets are a mare to fit without scratching the paint - I had the same difficulties on a Dinky RR Phantom V restoration. Fantastic finish as usual Martin, Happy New Year to you. 👍👍
looks great again, the blue is just the right colour for a Rawls. :) I'd have repainted the interior a bordeaux red, but that's just me. as you said, your resto, your call.:) another example why we should admire the assembly workers from back when. patient and crafty, as I'm sure a lot of their tools and aids were made at the assembly line because "them engineers" forgot about that, as usual. XD Happy new year! :D
Thanks Lothar, funny you should mention the interior colour, I was going to go a bit darker ,but then decided against it .in the factory, they had a lot of jigs made to help with assembly. It would be great to find a few .they must be somewhere . Wishing you and your family a happy New year my friend
A fantastic looking car.Martin, the Colour makes it look classy like a Rolls Royce should, looking forward to seeing your next restoration all the best for the new year to you and your family.
Very nice restoration Martin, great choice of colour too, it looks great with all the chrome. I'm not sure I would've had the patience that you had to rebuild this model. Happy New Year to you and yours, and looking forward to all your videos in 2025. Best wishes. Peter.
Thanks Peter, yes you could have done this it always seems hard on camera than it actually is ,because your concentrating on two things. Happy new year to you and your family
Great way to start off 2025 Martin, Honda Blue on the Rolls is a beautiful choice👍,this car was a ugly duckling & you brought the details out of this beauty👍, the doors , split hoods & grill was a bit fiddly , you conquered 👍. My friend I hope that you & your family had a great New Years Day, be seeing you on your next diecast adventure 😊, take care ol friend.👋😎🛻🚚🚒🚗
Happy New Year mate, wow she turned out very flash indeed. I love the dark blue and the gloss on the paint is great. I don't know how popular those twin bonnets would be with mechanics though. I remember when I used to work at General Motors Holden in South Australia. A top of the line statesman car came down the line and someone put the wrong paint code on the front of it. I was painted dark metallic blue but when it got to the trim shop where they put the seats and interior in, the seats were dark burgundy so it didn't quite match.🤣🤣So the car had to be stripped back down rubbed down and repainted white.😂😂 See you on the next one mate.👍🏻
The beginning what a mess, the end result perfect, I personally would like to see a windscreen restoration, I struggle with this part and never get a good result, Happy New Year Martin.👍
If memory serves, that model was available as a kit, too, with a screw in the base - not your, clearly, with the rivet.. but by 7 minutes in, I though you'd be passing it on to Kev's Bangers! And 'Gently Bentley' on a Rolls Royce? Whatever next! Terrific colour choice, but you glossed over the remade Spirit of Ecstasy: that looked a bit neat. A new year, Martin, and you ain't lost it! Congratulations!
Thanks Fraser, it might have been the phantom that was in kit form. The spirit of ecstasy was sanded, and made slightly smaller whilst still on the doner car ,then cut and glued on the RR . After being dropped several times .all the best Martin
Wow, nice result. Great job Martin. That's a shiny toy! For the BumperGrillPivot, I was thinking a way to do it would be to fill the rivet hole (JB Weld?) then drill and tap it for a screw. Then replace the post on the base with a hole. To put it together you could just push the BGP in, and fasten it with a screw. Just a thought for the next one. I should talk. I am always driven nuts trying to reassemble most opening doors on these toys. Cheers, Timo
Sounds like an interesting plan, timo thanks for that. It's certainly a juggling act when you have multiple opening parts , I would like to know what happened to all the original assembly jigs thay had back then. All the best Martin
What are fantastic job Martin on the Rolls-Royce silver cloud. Could we see some Matchbox model of yesteryear cars being restored on your channel please😊
Happy new year to you, Stanley, the wife and the rest of your family. Enjoyed watching although the hour long videos are difficult to fit in with everything ese. Do you clear coat after you've painted?
Happy New Year to you, my friend. Yes, I clear coat after painting the main colour ,but paint the details lights, etc, after the clear coat , All the best Martin
Squeaky bum time putting it back togrther martin its the most nerve racking bit of the restoration for me all that work can be ruined with one chip or glue smudge looks great though really love the colour
Another great resto Martin, if this hobby teaches us nothing else, it teaches us patience, LOL
Thanks Steve, yes patience is a must at times when doing these things.
All the best Martin

A great start to 2025 with a cracking restoration. I think Jeeves will be sacked for leaving the Rolls in such a state 😂. Nice colour choice top marks with the details. Window trim is the icing on the cake. All the best. Cheers Chris 👍🏼🇦🇺🦘👍🏼
Thanks very much Chris, yes the window trims needed doing on this one, to make it stand out .
Wishing you a happy New year
