I picked a boxed one up at a Toyfair in 2019 it was in a clearance box for £10 I couldn't believe it was still there at that price! it's not mint but very near mint I've had some bargains over the years! Nice restoration as always 👌 👍 👏
Thank you for your time ☺️ good memories I loved the fire 🔥 engine when I was a little boy I was 5 years old 2 10 years old my mum and dad bought me for Christmas a fire engine so thank you so much loved the video well done 🔥🚒😷
Lovely job again , I have a couple of these coming in the post but what I do is just mask up the ladder , spray it then the reverse to do the body , also leave the bells on , just paint them gold , saves all that faffing about
What a superb old toy Martin. I would have been tempted just to clean this old girl up and leave the paint. The panel lines looked excellent. Having said that, she brushed up beautifully and the detail painting brought this cool old machine to life. One of your best, I'd say, and a good save with that bell.👍👌😁
Getting that base separated was a bugger hun Martin, humming a tune kept your patience 👍 LOL 😆 this fire truck has a lot of body details very well defined indeed and bring the details out makes it better, you did a super job on it. I hope that you don’t mind Martin, I took the liberty of mentioning you as well as others on Bob’s video for being good teachers, all of you to whom I tune in to are responsible for me getting into this interesting, wonderful hobby, thanks to you & all. Well my friend, take care & see ya on your next build.😎👍👍👍🚘
Martin, " Dared" And Succeeded Without A Blink!!! To Keep It Original And He Mastered It!!! Is Mint Condition A1 This No 999, Marvelous Dinky Toy Replica Fire Engine!!! Such Detailed Work Best Replica Ever Seen In History!!!
Beautiful job Martin! i loved the way it turned out despite the 'hells bells' moment. I also loved the tease of placing other cars or street sweepers in the background. I look forward to seeing them at some point in the future.
Ha ha you spotted it then, been after one for a while now so dropped on that one at a good price, its a bit complex but doable. Thanks for your support. 👍
Wow great job Martin we could have used this fire engine in Australia a couple of months ago. Now we've got floods and cyclones Australia beautiful one day six foot under water the next lol.
Lovely job Martin, came out really well in the end despite the set backs you had along the way, the ladder looks well all polished up rather than painted and well worth the effort. Congratulations on another beautiful restoration 👌👍😊 All the best, Nick.
Thanks nick yeah I was pleased with the results of the ladders too. We are getting the hang of this now nick ,looking forward to your next video, have fun my friend.
Turned out looking gorgeous mate despite it giving you a battle, shame the bell tower snapped off but thats the joys of zamac and its one way bend properties.... but you didnt give up .... cracking work as always
Thanks , yes it was a bit of a shock when it broke but like you said this stuff doesn't play well with others ,but luckily it went back with a little work. Thanks for your support.
hi martin this has to be your best restoration yet liquid smooth paint job great attention to detail and the envy of pew pew barney mcgrew Cuthbert dibble and not forgetting grub. top draw stuff yet again best regards.
Martin, Caustic Soda very very naughty stuff, please have a good read of the bottle instructions, suggesting you use a more friendly paint stripper, mate👍"I use Jollanite paint stripper in a bottle overnight" Top notch finish job 👍
Thanks very much for the advice my friend I used to use paint stripper but to be honest I couldn't find a good enough one ,so I will have a look for the one you have suggested.
To be honest Michael iam not sure what it would tow if anything, probably dinky just put it on as an additional option for kids. Thanks for your support my friend 👍
Just done one of these. That was a spring washer in the back. It was the tensioner for the swiveling ladder carrier. I left it & ground the pin off. Sprayed the ladders in plastikote chrome paint. Carefully drilled the pins on the bells from the inside. Tried going out the tops but wouldn't budge
O outro que vi restaurar ficou horrível, pintou as escadas de preto,os cromados borraram tudo, não pintou os sinos, você para mim é dos melhores restauradores do RUclips parabéns adoro velo , magnífico 😍👍♥️
Dinky painted it silver so I did it grey ,I had seen some real ones that colour so I chose that rather then the black witch was also used . All the best martin 👍
Hi, great job restoring, well done, can i ask where you got the tyres from, i found the same model while metal detecting in woods near me, i'm also going to restore it, the tyres are gone and the ladders broken, i can get a replacement ladder on ebay, but can't source the tyres, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
Hi Martin, been watching your restorations, one comment, supergluing clear plastic, not a good idea,if you get some on the windscreen itself they go hazy and you can’t get it clear again, better to use clear sealant, keep up the good work ,love listening to you nattering to yourself,Bill
Thanks bill yes I have been lucky so far using super glue ,I have some sealant somewhere I will dig it out. Keep the comments coming that's how we learn. I appreciate your support. 👍
Nice one Martin. Looks Great. That's how the ladders are on the real ones. When are you doing the commer breakdown truck? Or would you like another fire engine? 👍👍👏👏
Hi Mike, yes I thought thay would look a lot better. The breakdown truck is in production. And iam always up for a fire engine mike ,I have total respect for our fire service. All the best and thanks for your support.
Hello buddy, if you do another one of those fire engines check the rivet holding the bells on with a magnet you will find they should be steel pins. To take mine off I flipped the fire engine upside down and drill through the inside of the bell to release the rivet and removed the pin with a pair of pliers. By doing this you remove the bells without damaging them. Check out my dinky fire engine 955 must see video I show it on there. Love your work and have subscribed.

That's quite an early example. Later, it was rebranded as a Supertoy and renumbered to 955 to fit in with other Supertoy numbers. Nice job
Thanks Les, I did wonder why the number change, now I know.
Thanks for your support my friend
MORNING MARTIN. WHAT APPLIANCE WOULD HAVE BEEN TOWED BEHIND THIS VEHICLE? CHEERS MICHAEL. CAPITALS DUE TO LOSING SIGHT AND REDUCED COGNITIVE ABILITIES
