I love how organised James is. True pride in your craft, I love it!
Best board install ive seen so far from any UK electricians.
Very good job.
I'm sure James will be very happy to hear that!
James is really good on camera! Love his tips too.
There are probably ladies (or lads, no judgement) out there that love his tips too 😂
Thank you James for pointing out that "the next guy" could be you a few months from now. Doing a neat job helps everyone, including yourself.
"Pay it forward", simple but effective, how many boards have you taken the cover off and cursed the sod that installed it or touched it last? Seen a few vids recently were they show off the purely pornographic boards that someone has taken time on and there's never enough of that.
Tom will forever be the number 1 RUclips sparky god
only thing id change about how you do your mcb/rcbos is leave a small loop down behind the breaker instead of straight into the top, so handy having spare length , i normally group all my lives into a bundle and loop it down behind the mcbs and bring them back up and bend back on itself into the mcb, that way they can basically reach anywhere inside the distribution board
could we swap the gromet strip for a wallace? 🤷♂️🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣

We love James 🤗 he's great -- a real asset 👍
loved the outtakes at the end, should be more of them, and yes, he does do a lot with his hands lol. but nice to see he takes such pride in his work at the end of the day, well done James.
Glad you enjoyed!
James and Tom are both expressive with their hands, the thing that caught my eye more was the lighting James had where his hands cast shadows while moving around.
These videos get better and better, great tips of 50,962 😂 and I likes James’s systematic approach to his fuse board is best I’ve ever seen. Awesome outtakes and best for last with everyone deserve a good laugh. Great video 👍🏼 can’t wait to see next one.
James knows a hwll of alot for a 16 year old! 🤣🤣 On a serious note though, the channel is quality...way ahead of the other YTers!
I really appreciate this attitude, the opposite of the usual “fk the next guy”
YOU ARE the next guy. You’re ALWAYS the next guy.
A very good addition to the Nagy team. Thank you for presenting young James. 👍🏽
Nice to see a fellow Taff making a neat job. I served my apprenticeship in 60-70s thats how we were taught, well done.
James makes a good presenterr and shows his enthusiasm for the wok. The team seems to be working well and I think you look far more relaxed so the direction your taking works!
James, What a top lad 20 out of 10 💯👌💯
Young James did a great job there. Sounds like he's from the South Wales valleys, to me, rather than the big smoke😉
Really evident James takes pride in his work, and does a great job for the customer too. Very natural on camera too. Love him
I love neat cabling. There are few things as satisfying as sitting back and looking at a just completed perfect cabling layout on the back of a rack of audio/video equipment. Nice work James.
Nice job James, numbering of cables 👍
Do more videos with James please. You both do excellent work.
There's more of all 3 of us working in the coming Nagy weekly episode, make sure you don't miss it ;)
Quality work James
The amount of work that goes into all this is amazing , always good to watch and to be fair with it was on channel 2 or something
Loved This one great tips thanks James👍🏻
Great stuff James 👍🏼
Tom when that moustache has reached maturity I'll get the Magnum PI music cued up :-)
10:15, I appreciate the great advice James! The intimidation factor is something I go through so often 😩 but these words will resonate 🙌🏽
Thanks for the tips, always trying to improve my boards 👍
Another great video has always Thomas 👍
Really well explained board change.
That moostache is ridiculously well suited for him. Keeping it may be in order
Very neat job! The numbering is a nice touch, like he said the next person to work on that board might be you.
South Wales maintenance born and bread James boyyyyy
Super tidy job, and all the effort well justified.
Love how far you have come, well done on all the hard work, and keep the videos coming!
59868 useful tips. I counted them. Thank you really well explained and useful!
Full marks James, I'm 82 & still learning 🇮🇪
More of James please 🥰
Tidy install James 👌🏼 you seem like a top lad too 👍🏼
You look like a great bunch of lads to work with..fun, pro and pride in your work.. 😎👍 love the outakes as well, funny...
Glad you enjoyed it
What a lovely order of tips you got 🤣🤣
Great video. James is a very good presenter. Love to see capital letters in channel name :)
;)
Great job! I'm from Adelaide, Australia.
I use RCBOs all the time. The only main difference is most of our Distribution Boards are plastic. We only switch the Active on Main Switch.
Also our wiring colours are your "old style". Actives: Red, White (pre 80's yellow), Blue. Neutral: Black. Earth: Green/Yellow (pre 80's Green and also uninsulated). All our Twin & Earth cable have insulated Earth so we dont need Earth sleeving.
Our cables are all stranded.
We use 1.5mm for Lights, 2.5mm for Power, 4/6/10mm for heavier loads.
Main supply is normally 16mm or higher for larger installations. Main earth normally 6mm.
Love the outtakes 🤣😂😂😂😂
James is awesome 👌
Great video guys, loved the out-takes. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Nice one James. 👍
Smashed it lad.
Love this channel.
great video. The lad comes across really well. Saved this video
Your channel just keeps getting better ❤️🩹 love the funny with the educational, the consumer unit install was brilliantly explained.
I also thought the Mexican moustache suited you until you became magnum. 🥸
Keep up the good work 👍
Great video - nice to see youre developing youtube stars Tom! Thank you!
Let me catch up on episode 3 - and I’ll big back…. Few hrs later .. 😁
Brilliant video 👍, outtakes should be on a separate video 😁😁
Are you back yet ?
@@MOTO_LEW 😁😁 not yet mate
Such a great video! You will go far in your career. Great advice and very informative. More of this! 😊
Thank you so much!
Awesome job on the fuse board James - OCD is both a blessing and a curse :) I have never seen a zip connector like you had on those fly leads at 13:38 - that is brilliant!
It's quite a common hack on you tube, I have seen that method used as a cable tidy
Great work lad
Piece of art, nice work!
Would like to see you perform on a huge 3phase board, that would be nice 😎
excellent video
top job indeed james - Boddingtons do supply insulated inspection mirrors btw
I really like any tradesman who takes pride in their work! So thumbs up for that 👍 I’m not a fan of those clip on cable markers though! They have a habit of pinging off and getting lost. I do like the idea of marking up the cores though.
Woohoo new vid 😊
Thinking of the next person who comes to my fuseboards I always try and leave more length than that, but it compromises neatness.
Nice work! Board wiring reminds me of working with Dornier techs when installing lithotripters many years ago. The techs were all trained to lay cables as if in an aircraft. A bit more time to install but very helpful tracing faults and understanding the house in the future.
How do they lay cables in aircrafts?
@@tommymack3210 with extreme neatness and organization. Obviously in a confined space like that you can't afford a lot of room for cabling so it's all bundled very nicely and very concisely.
Okay first, James your savage neat, love that, am sooo pernickity and especially when it comes wiring. Out takes are brilliant lads, it really looks like a great company to work for and that's really rare these days. Thomas is so like myself , gadgets and toys...lol
Great tips 😎
What's the point in using metal boards, just to cut a big hole in the top. That plastic trunking isn't goin to contain a fire very well.
Thought was shit using copex for the Socket and wouldn't ever use impact driver on bakerlite type box 9 times out of ten smash it
Loved this vid. Great helpful stuff and really well presented. Can we have more like this? Top job. Thanks
Thanks, will do!
Really great job super neat, I love to take my time on my own jobs but no way I would be able to come back the next day at work would be expected to do that board in a day or less shame that so many companies just want the cheapest quickest work I mainly do offices and industrial, and a lot of the work I see is utter rubbish keep up the good work.
Cracking lad.
I just connect the blues and whites without the trimming and crimping I’m 50 and past giving a fuck
Great info and awesome job by the James , And can you guys explain , two - way and intermediate switching . ⚡️👊
Also very neat.. but you should consider spacing for the rcbos for heat dissipation.the zip tie trick is a good idea for reducing gouping factors.
What cable stripper was that you used and is it any good on LSF twin cable??
So those ferrules, the way those are crimped do they actually hold onto the wires properly? All the times I have seen em they are usually squished down into squares or octogons.
it's always good to spread the load :P
Do you have recommendations for the most premium and well thought out boards/ trunking , clips and breakers i think abb is the best but is there a better option?
Hi.
Just a quick question where did you get the blue drivers from.
Thanks Charlie.
New one yayyyyyy
Ah, bloopers.. and Time codes, good things come.. a good video has bloopers, 2-3 ok , more.. even better :D
I'm glad you noticed :)
Well said ... I have been a master electrician going on 40 years ... I am still learning ... the more you learn the more you realise how little you actually know.
Whats the brand of the cable strippers that you used to remove the outer sheath please?
Great vid. Link for screwdrivers by any chance?
Just curious and maybe a topic you can talk on Tom.. The top of the consumer unit was slotted and plastic trunking above, I didnt see any attempt to seal the slot following cable installation, what method was used?
Also re: Cable ties inside CCUs, is this now an accepted practice as I always thought not? I’m out of touch with latest regs so maybe you can explain?
Nice job James...quality...what part of Wales are you from...from a fella Welsh spark.
The screwdrivers for mcbs are called modulo
Instead of using '0' on the rings, use A & B and for the sake of a few extra quid get an insulated mirror just in case...
Insulated mirror?😂 wrap it in electricians tape bruv
Would also recommend the insulated mirror
Top geeza
I might have missed it but did he torque up at the end I assume he did but just didnt mention it.
I have the bigger fuse box for the garage itself. 5x24 per house is such a reasonable start.
Yes good tip to put washer on to reduce cracking of plastic boxes. Another tip is to use plastic "conduit" boxes where you can. They tend to have plasticiser in them to give a bit of flexibility. Hate to tell you : coz it looked as though you intended to bring in the MEC in the opposite corner to the tails; but regs say the earth should be in same hole as the tails. God only knows why. difficult to see how you would get high current on the MEC of a modern board, other than a Line tail popping out and touching the case.
Nice board
Tom reminds me of MR faulty from faulty towers with the stash
I’m in the marine electronics world, we would usually crimp bootlace ferrules with a square crimp. Is there a reason you crimped with a U crimp?
I would love the 'boy' to take on a panel wiring...
Tom, How about a video on Metering ie impulse electricity meters through to SMETS2 Smart meters ?
i have one question... after you have stripped all the cables. and lost the signing.. do you still know what every cable was for?
That consumer unit was a work of art. I think whoever did ours was busy in the middle of an earthquake.
I've seen a few where the best solution would be to rip it all out and start over.
Re the screwfix delivery
They only work if you’re in a Sprint area but be interested to see how that pans out when you do it as we just pop to Electricfix to collect stuff
Hi Mate, can you please share a link for your wire stripper?
James/Thomas? have you the link for those MCB screwdrivers please?
