I think it also depends what you teach. I teach English, Film and Philosophy - all of these subjects allow me to be as weird and creative as I want, and that helps me to encourage my students to be the same way. I have taught myself how to buckle down and be organised... that doesn't mean this organisation extends to other areas of my life, but I'm learning!

I love this thanks for sharing... in saying that, what age are your students ( what year level ) and how do you teach students to be wired in English? i love kids and I taught before and I truly loved it. There are some about children that are just so challenging and yet adorable all at the same time. I love learning about them every day and finding the best way to teach them to me is the best feeling.

I'm an ENFP who quit elementary school teaching due to a bad case of imposter syndrome. Some years later I learnt from the teacher who replaced me that I was my students' favourite teacher and being in my class was the highlight of their school career. Now I can see that I was comparing myself to SJ's and crucifying myself for not being them. If I went back to teaching - and I want to - it would be with the knowledge that I will not fit the mold - and that's actually OK.

I'm an ENFP music teacher in a private school. I love what I do. Not a fan of the public school beauracasy setup with so many rules and regulations with a side of red tape that I never completed my official certification however, I continued to attend classes and workshops, taught private music lessons and learned as much as I could.
My degree is in Bible/Music Ministry with vocal performance. I started working in daycare with young 🎉 moved to begore/after school with Kindergarten enrichment then moved onto becoming a band director/general music and kept going. It's ok that I don’t hold an official education degree. I learned more from my experiences than sitting in a classroom. Teaching private lessons is also wonderful because every 30-60 minutes, I change to another student with a different instrument.

As an ENFP French teacher for 30 years, I could TOTALLY relate to what she was saying! I use a nontraditional method and the variety helps keep me sane. And take a few years of doing something else before starting a teaching career. We need to experience the world to understand ourselves.

OMG! I'm an ENFP high school teacher and it's so eerie listening to Elizabeth & the similarities in our stories. I'm fortunate that I teach in a large district, so I've been able to change schools and keep it fresh every 6-7 years. I've taught for 20 years but I'm definitely feeling the ENFP restlessness. All these things I thought were strange to my story seem to be just what I needed to be successful.

I'm an ENFP and a certified K-12 art teacher. I went to art school at 18 and decided to become an art teacher my second year. It was a rough start for me as a teacher. I had a really hard time with consistency, organization, behavior management, project management, and stress management. I ended up becoming a day-to-day substitute teacher while getting two masters degrees online (MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology) & (MA in Organizational Management). My plan was to switch careers at some point. I've thought of doing many things like animation, interior design, graphic design, etc. but I lack experience and education in those fields to get hired. I've gained a lot of experience as a substitute teacher that has helped my ability to teach A LOT. I'm still learning and growing as an educator. Now, I'm thinking about going back and teaching K-5 elementary art. I think being an art teacher does support an ENFPs love of innovation and creativity and there are a lot of types of art making i.e.) painting, drawing, animation, sculpture, etc., but yes, you do need an administration to support you and it still can be repetitive and confining. I love drama and film as well so maybe I can incorporate that into my curriculum somehow. I think ultimately, teaching is the best option for me at this time and looking at all the options available to me but everyone is different. ENFPs should know the inherent struggles they will face being teachers for sure. I'd love to do a video explaining what it's like to be an art teacher specifically for ENFPs! That would be a lot of fun and hopefully help some ENFPs! :)

What a beautiful Divine Feminine to feature on your channel! Teaching is perfect for an ENFP, we want to inspire & make impact, what better place to start than our education system! We are the visionaries, I believe we will restructure the entire system. I finished my business degree & am going back for Philosophy. Although that is not practical, Philosophy is the root. We want truth. Enfps, we are the teachers, we are the voices that inspire people to dig deeper.

I TOTALLY LOVE THIS. and now my vision and values make perfect sense. MAKING impact on the new generation is deep to me! this world is looking more miserable as each day goes by and my job as a teacher is not just to teach eng or math or science but teaching how to be a great human being is the best place to start! Thank you for sharing!

Sorry about the video quality on this one. I'll be switching how I do interviews in the future so it should be a lot better quality!

Making quality content is all that matters... Don't worry too much abt that Dan... I was interested in opinions of someone who is ENFP/INFP and also a teacher at the same time.

Oh my I relate to this so much. I went right into education but there was a lot of myself to learn and I had such horrible self-esteem I over-invested in my classroom and burned myself out. I didn't know how to work with adults and parents because I didn't have enough esteem to do so. The time I spent in other industries I feel has empowered me to understand my worth and skillset, but also empowers me to return to the classroom if I wish because I know how to balance a little better.

Loving to learn and teach the general population are very different. Managing a classroom with a handful of students that aren't willing to learn disrupts and drains a HUGE percentage of time. I love to teach to curious people. Public schools don't always provide the best audience. Special Education and working with a much less ratio with those type students is much more rewarding. One on one, create a program that engaged them individually... it's impossible in a classroom...you must teach to the majority.

I'm a history major, I had a lot of ups and downs with my career. I'm currently a master student in international studies with a focus on public history and I want to pursue museum work and potentially get my PhD. I want to wait now since this recession has happened. But my goal is to work in museums and do sidework as a adjunct professor.

Out of curiosity, why do you mainly focus on INFP, ENFP, and INFJ?

I’m a science teacher teaching 8th grade at a British curriculum school and I feel that teaching for me now is still amazing but the contemplation of continuing in this field is becoming real than ever! Is that an ENFP thing?

WOw, love hearing your story as an ENFP person ! I am also one and struggle greatly with science!
perhaps, you may need to consider other type of curriculum, changing schools and find new challenges in your teaching career!
