I just started my secondary education degree and honestly the pro that’s keeping me in it is the impact on students. During these times and this new generation they need someone they can count on someone who can help guide them to adulthood. That’s what pushes me is that I could make a huge difference in a young one’s life, that I can help them realize their dreams and how to achieve them
I came across your channel through this video-case studies are incredibly valuable, and I'm eager to see more in the future! Building wealth involves establishing routines, like consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for smart investments.
You're correct. I think the smartest way to go is to spread out your investments. By putting your money into different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and stocks from other countries, you can lower the risk if one part of the market goes bad.
That sounds like a good plan. In the past two years, working closely with a financial market specialist, I've built a six-figure diversified stock portfolio. Now, I aim to diversify even more this year.
Talking about a financial market specialist, do you consider anyone worthy of recommendations? I have about 100k to test the waters now that large cap stocks are at a discount... Thanks

Speaking as a teacher there’s no way in heck that we leave at 3. Our contract PAYS us until that time but in no way does anyone leave at that time! There’s too much paperwork to grade, lesson plans, meetings, messages to respond to from parents or conferences with parents or even phone calls with parents, never ending paperwork etc. etc. Most teachers I know myself included leave a good 1 or 2 hours after our contract to catch up in just one days work!
@@baheegdeek3138 It doesn't mean they are free to be disrespected. Of course, they choose to become one, but so do lawyers, etc. They also earn more respect. Teachers are the bedrock of society. In my country there's a severe shortage of teachers and this is already causing massive problems (literacy rates being the lowest in years); The root cause being that people find the profession unattractive.. I wonder why. .
Teaching is among the most important jobs in a society, but the pay is.ridiculous in comparison to the responsibility and the necessary qualifications. What good is it to be out of school at 3 o'clock, but having to work a second job? Therefore, definitely not worth the effort. Only in Germany and Switzerland teachers are paid a decent salary.
I don't know where you guys live? But here in Dallas, Texas we get paid pretty good, $58k annually starting out with 0 years of experience and you can make mid $60k's after 5 years. If you can't survive on $58k annually you don't have a money problem, you have a spending problem and a debt problem. Live within your means and you'll be fine on that salary
Do you think a history/art teacher would a Similar salary? I live in Grand Prairie, & I’m studying at a community college & going to UTA to major in history & minor in art. I’ve been very conflicted on being a teacher
Thank you for this video. I am a language Teacher (English). We know that every profession has its own prose & cons; most of us go by the most important factors that matter to us. At the end of the day it all comes down to many factors. The top 1 being Job satisfaction & financial security. So, I can say it's a great career. Thank you Love Joy Peace
Ill soon start pre university to become an english teacher in a couple years, im very hesitant when it comes to choosing a future career but i love learning new languages and teaching people about them, my original language is french but of course i speak english, spanish and while not perfect at all im currently learning japanese and soon after ill learn chinese. Im wondering if english teacher was the right choice because i have no clue what im getting into. I just know ill have vacation which is a very important thing for me cause i want a family, my pay, while probably not as much as it should be for the amount of work ill give, will not be garbage and will let me live at least without too much concern. And finally i want something that wont require me to stay in my office 24/7 having paperwork after paperwork. Ik this will absolutely require paperwork but the relationship i could have with my students could balance with that fact. Anyway, in brief id like to know your opinion as an english teacher if you still think as of today is becoming an english teacher a good idea?
Let me tell something that I am a person who is normally bored in life and the thing is that due to traumatic childhood I didn't enjoy my school life and I was beaten everyday and emotionally bullied as a result I am not suited for jobs as soon as I see work load I get what you call PSTD that means some of my bad memories come back and haunt me which usually leads to bad day so I thought of becoming a teacher money isn't the only thing necessary having bonds and students whom you impact is also great and most importantly changing lives of people like me so they don't have to grow up like I did
In New York where I live teachers can start off 80-100k if you start working outside the city in the rich suburbs but most start at 60-80k if they work outside the city
Jack Wilde I can’t speak for all teachers but I know that where I go to school at. A good amount of teachers told me that they made 6 figures and live good. but they have been working for the district for at least a couple years. If you just start you would be making less, so it depends based off your lifestyle and where you live and where you work. But for the most part you should be able to live comfortably if you manage your finances right, because you could be making 100k+ and where you live could be to expensive.
Going to school for teaching is amazing. Spent 4 years in the army, until medically retirement, so I already get 4k a month from the VA. So the money was never the issue. I had already gotten an associates in writing paid for by the army while serving, So I decided to teach, a change of pace, and I love writing and reading others writing as well. The job just feels right. Also the army is paying for the bachelors in education so another plus. Being able to impact kids lives and maybe catch their interest in writing is my goal and why I love the future of teaching.
Yes they do. They are just so used to staying late and working on grading or planning that they don't want to be the first ones to leave. We are the only profession that works after hours and at home for free. Whenever teachers find the courage to stop acting like they enjoy working for free the districts will stop expecting it. Been in this silliness 26 years and I walk to my car at 2:50.
Yeah band class starts at 7 at my school and teachers don't get to leave until 3:15 at the earliest and most stay behind until later. My mom is a teacher and she gets to school at 7 and comes home a little after 5:30
This is why a friend went into tutoring instead after majoring in Chemistry (and minor in food science) in university. Charge $5 per person per 1 hour group session for general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry. And $10 if it’s a day or two right before the exam. For organic chemistry ALONE 50-100 people will show up to be tutored about these damn reactions. Now do that 8 hours a day and you make a ton of money. Granted, it’s highly dependent on how many students show up, and summers and the first few weeks of spring and fall will be very slow income, but it ramps up really quickly. Can also make enough money to hire people to help you. I know this works really well with chemistry and physics, but I’m unsure if it works as well with biology, calculus, diffEQ, and other typically difficult classes
Actually in California the teachers earn good livable money. Many of my teachers earn 4.2k-4.5k or even to 5k a month and it isn't even in an overly expensive city
Tontoki Sadly that isn’t the case in MANY other states. And some people can’t afford to/don’t want to move-let alone to sometimes opposite sides of the country. Good to know that there are still well-paid educators in the country period! Waiting for the change to take the ripple effect! Thanks for the insight!

Wow ... so many misconceptions ... where to start? *(1)* Vacations. Yes, teachers do get many days off. But it's always the same days, they do not get to choose when to take off. It's nice to take off the summer, but realize that's when everyplace you wish to go is crowded and most expensive. The beach, national parks, camping, just about anywhere. And if you're married to someone who isn't a teacher it's hard on them as well. And trust me, if you're a higher level teacher (Chemistry, Physics, Calculus) weekends and evenings aren't your own; making up those tests and lab assignments will eat all those hours up and then some. *(2)* No Upward Mobility. This one is pretty much self-explanatory. Even if you wish to leave teaching there exists a stigma outside of education that hiring teachers is a no-no. Even if you pursue another career by going back to school, if they know you were a teacher they pretty much will shut you out. It is an unwritten rule --- no former teachers. They have the misconception that teachers do not live in the 'real world' ... whatever that means. *(3)* Poor Salary. Because teaching in many states requires you be in the teacher's union, your salary is locked to whatever is negotiated. And it doesn't matter how good you are, what you teach or anything else. The only way to make a decent salary is through years of experience --- if you can stick it out. And some districts will actually make it hard on teachers with higher pay so that they might leave to reduce district salaries. *(4)* You work around the clock should you have higher level courses. Yet you will be paid the same as everyone else. I can go on, but for now you should see that it's not all that you might think it is. Sure ... there are benefits, but they come at a cost. And that cost, unlike most everywhere else, is much more than just doing a good job.
Totally right. I'd like add that those off days and holidays are not enough compared to how mentally and emotionally demanding teaching actually is. Especially when you teach kids. Many parents find it difficult to only deal with one or two kids at home, let alone having to deal with 20 plus kids that are full with energy and hyperactivity.
If I’m gonna teach I might aswell go for a PhD and become a professor and make double or sometimes triple of what a Secondary Hs teacher makes... But I will agree teachers are underpaid on top of all the responsibilities. but the vacation time is very attractive..
Are teachers underpaid? Probably. But Depending on the state, you can get a starting salary of 60-80K(At least where I live) Now obviously that is the extreme, and most start at 30-50, but if you don’t live in a big city, that is very good for starting. In my state you get paid the more you work so if I went for secondary education and we started school at the same time, I’d be working 6-8 more years than you, and my pay would increase a ton. Obviously there are also tons of pros to getting a PHD. I’m not dissing you’re interest, in the long run DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. I’m just saying there’s two sides to every coin and both sides are both worth looking at
In Texas Dallas and Fort Worth/ San Antonio and Houston average starting salaries are around $43,000-48,000 for a high school teacher. It’s a live-able Income if you are really tight with money. I’m not interested in becoming a teacher and they’re underpaid in Texas in my opinion there are certain school districts that pay more but those are a lot harder to get in with as they’re known to hire “by who you know” southlake is a prime example, Keller ISD and some posh districts north Texas. Small town schools here teachers don’t even crack 40k after years of teaching...
It depends on the state as well as College/University. I am in Georgia and taught part time at the community college. My mentor (who had a PhD) was full time professor and even had additional designation so he should get paid well. But no, his annual salary is nothting compared to a public school secondary teacher with a Master's degree, and even less if you have a PhD. This is what discouraged me from going full time in that college for even as a professor its not worth it salary wise. Maybe in bigger universities.
Professors in community colleges are rarely full-time, they are part-time. They usually teach one to three classes a week. This does not give them benefits or much salary. This is what my professors tell me at any rate. Maybe it's different at four-year colleges
They used to give teachers in my district paid benefits for medical and dental. Now we have to cover the medical and they force us to pay for retirement. How much we make, is directly reflective of how important the state and federal government this the education system is.
I am in my last year of high shool and i have problems knowing which career I should choose now that i've told my mom i'm a little embarrassed to say it but i want to become a animator i wish to work in a studio where i can help make anímate movies, animes, cartoons and even make my own anime (i'm trying to make my own manga and write a book) i wish to do this because i wish that people would feel the emotion, the anguish, the story to be told but my mom told me that first i need to get a short carrer that would help me make money for living and will help me with the animation carrer, I'm thinking of becoming a creative writing teacher am I making the right decision? I would appreciate some advice
Many classes i took in school have nothing with what I'm doing now as a full time career. Only reason you need to know the useless classes is if you are going to teach it.
So I am a heavy diesel mechanic, I started right out of highschool at 18, I am now 20 and I hate my work and never am happy anymore, I used to think since my sophomore year of highschool about being a teacher but am worried that I’m too far gone, I’m about to be married and my fiancée is going to be a elementary school teacher but I’ve also thought about it, should I do it or is it worth it?
The negatives far outweigh the positives: 1. A parent have all the legal power and none of the responsibilities for their child's education. When a student fails a standardized test, the parent does not lose her or his job. 2. Many administrators are failed or burned-out former teachers who should be out of education. 3. Insubordination laws prevent teachers, including tenured, from speaking their minds on issues like busy work and being treated with disrespect by administrators. 4. IP's (Improvement Plans) can be given to teachers without any prior warning. The union will not stand for those teachers for public relation reasons. 5. Tenure means nothing when paperwork is being directed against them. It only gives them a year or two before they are terminated. STAY OUT OF TEACHING!
Nah that's bull, teaching is a stable and easy job compared to the average job. Sure there are some problems but making 60 k a year for the responsibilities of a teacher is generous.
generally well done video good points but do not agree on the point you made on a teacher having to work more than one job , that should not be happening to teachers that is not normal in Britain (Scotland) the teaching job is something your supposed to be proud of and well paid ..on average High school teachers get the salary of £39,900 and primary gets £36,900
Hi Cora, You are right, teachers shouldn’t have to work more than one job. But you would be surprised how many I know that work multiple jobs just to get by.
That's too vague a statement. How many years experience? What level of education does this teacher have? Where is this teacher working? What is this teacher teaching? ????
My suggestion please , choose Teaching field if you are interested .. Because you have to prepare at home and you won't get rest after coming from school , and also workload but if you work some office or any big company atleast you get rest at home ...so only choose if you like this field .. good luck , god bless you .
Hey 👋🏻 do you have any experience ? I have the chance to become a teacher because of my bachelor’s programme. I like teaching but I feel like all the other stuff like correcting exams etc. is such an overload. Also thought about starting to work right after the bachelors Degree and built on experiences and taking courses to qualify myself further.
Ok no, teachers do not deserve more pay than they're already getting. If you guys in the comments really think this job is harder than the average job you're dreaming. Plus the pay they get is good, if they have to worry about expenses it's because they are making poor decisions with their money.
I've worked in both teaching and high level research. Teaching is much harder. I've taught both advanced level science and math in both high school and college. I've also published technical papers in physical/chemical journals. Teaching IS harder ... by a lot. (At least what I've taught.) And the pay sucked with teaching.
I think it all depends on the school. I work at a small private school to pays 20K a year with no benefits. But the public schools start at 42K a year and provide good benefits.

Well explaimed
They used to give teachers in my district paid benefits for medical and dental. Now we have to cover the medical and they force us to pay for retirement.
How much we make, is directly reflective of how important the state and federal government this the education system is.
New York is the world's best country which pay alot and highest among all jobs!!! To teachers
Did you figure it out? 🎉
Thanks so much for doing this!
Many classes i took in school have nothing with what I'm doing now as a full time career. Only reason you need to know the useless classes is if you are going to teach it.
Lol
So I am a heavy diesel mechanic, I started right out of highschool at 18, I am now 20 and I hate my work and never am happy anymore, I used to think since my sophomore year of highschool about being a teacher but am worried that I’m too far gone, I’m about to be married and my fiancée is going to be a elementary school teacher but I’ve also thought about it, should I do it or is it worth it?
you should definitely give it a go you are do young too!
Awesome stuff!!! Very useful information that I can incorporate on my own channel. Thank you❤💯👌🏽
Just waiting until I retire ... I am so over it.
I feel I would thoroughly enjoy teaching but at the same time I wish I could tell a kid to stfu and not get fired.
How to get teaching jobs in Germany
Great video
The biggest reason I am considering leaving the teaching profession is student behavior.
The negatives far outweigh the positives:
@@jeffdachs9905 Nah you're full of it
@@lookout97 no I'm just someone with common sense.
@@jeffdachs9905 You need an "Improvement Plan" for your intelligence.
You forgot nowadays parents
generally well done video good points but do not agree on the point you made on a teacher having to work more than one job , that should not be happening to teachers that is not normal in Britain (Scotland) the teaching job is something your supposed to be proud of and well paid ..on average High school teachers get the salary of £39,900 and primary gets £36,900
Hi Cora, You are right, teachers shouldn’t have to work more than one job. But you would be surprised how many I know that work multiple jobs just to get by.
Most teachers I know work more than one job. I actually have a second job lined up for when the summer gets out.... lol
I found a BIG wall when I try to be a teacher.
My teacher be making 110k a year crazy
That's too vague a statement.
How many years experience? What level of education does this teacher have? Where is this teacher working? What is this teacher teaching?
????
@@thecarman3693 well 10 years of experience , masters degree and we live in California so yeah
My suggestion please , choose Teaching field if you are interested ..
Because you have to prepare at home and you won't get rest after coming from school , and also workload but if you work some office or any big company atleast you get rest at home ...so only choose if you like this field .. good luck , god bless you .

easiest shit ever
is it?
If you value your own health never work as a teacher .
Teaching is the most overrated and mostly unnecessary profession there is.
