You get the best touchpad, best display, one of the best builds, best keyboard, best processor, best battery life, best integrated GPU, best security and highest speed RAM and SSD that you can get at that price point, not to mention low power consumption and no fan noise. Not to mention that the device is from Apple and that too in India. So it would be WRONG to call Macs overpriced after 2020. You shouldn't compare midrange windows laptops with Macs, you should compare it with Dell XPS which is far more expensive and slower and runs hot compared to Macs. Yes, Macbook Pro M1 is overpriced and I agree with that but definitely not the Air. Those ssd speeds are mediocre. My laptops running at 5Gpbs with a 980 Pro (pcie gen 4) I think base Air is a good deal, might I say it's cheaper than some equivalent windows laptops. But 8Gb ram is a joke, this is a laptop. If you need ram you need ram. Suddenly that 3k upgrade to 16gb ram makes your MacBook Air 107k from 77k 😒 So if your needs are fulfilled by base model, only then it makes sense. This is so limiting. I'm too confused myself.

my 5yrs old macbook air (2k17) runs buttery smooth till date . In this 5 yrs I hardly restart or shut down my macbook 5-6 times .The system is extremely stable . Before mac I used dekstop pc with windows 7 ,it ran fine for 1 yr after that the system became so much painful to use...
Me still on 2014 15 inch mac book pro. Battery is down to 2-3 hours but still runs smooth. I will upgrade in 2022 when m1 chips are more developed. I hope new ones are just as long lasting as mine almost 7 year old macbook pro.

Yes i have m1 too but But Many windows soft dont support m1 chip yet.. Previoulsy support on intel chips.. U can runs windows on m1 chip via parallel windows 17 Parallel windows 17 requires to run latest soft. On m1 chip . Windpws run smoothly but ask administator permission many times it is irritating cause cost ur time when ur moving items to another locations. If u r new on m1 mac u will need continious support . Go for 16 gb ram 500gbstorage at least Ram is not upgradable!!
Yesterday i got macbook air 1 and switching from windows , i was super confused but i learned quite few things and i feel that it is very fast and smooth . I just installed 2 things , zoom and chrome till now and i opened 30 - 40 tabs in chrome and no difference in performance . Its simply great and i have a lottt to learn about it 😁

But at least they have this feature where you can open one photo and view all the photos by using arrow keys. Mac doesn't have similar thing. Only thing I could find is "preview" in which neither I can zoom pictures nor smoothly go to next picture just by using right arrow key... everytime need to figure out if to use right arrow or down arrow.
We cant use Swift in Windows. Swift is a programming language used to design apps for iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, etc. Java is for Android. Xcode is software like Android Studio. In the case of Programming, I love MAcs. It has most languages and is awesome.

@Neel well. I do a lot of video rendering. And all MacBooks have a issue where the cooling system is junk and can't help the cpu to sustain full performance after just 2-3 minutes of 1440p video rendering the cpu drops to like 200-300 MHz rendering the computer unusable .this happens with my sister's 2018 macbook pro even with fresh thermal paste and happens on both Windows and Mac OS and I not a Mac os or windows person I'm an Linux Guy.
@Neel well M1 is just a cpu that uses the same architecture used in phones and many Chromebooks and surface pro x use the same architecture as the M1 so it's not a very big problem to make those
Windows is best when compared to Apple. It is easily upgradable & very good for developers & gamers. Has something for everyone for all in every budget range. The only reason I would use Mac for is when doing graphic related content (like Photoshop & Effects, Maya etc).

I have faced horrible experiences with windows , when ever i tried to run heavy softwares the blue shutdown pop up screen shows, but i have nice experience with linux and macOS they are great in terms of user experience, first few I have struggled with Linux and windows but now its smooth but yeah obviously you can play game smoothly on Mac and on linux, in terms of that windows hands down best but I have coding related work so for me both linux and macOS best 😌.

I would say In your college days prefer “windows” so that you can experiment it as much as possible. After college use “Mac” for consistency and stability.
As an experienced user of multiple laptops. Windows: Reset Windows for every 2-3 years. Cleanup programs just work for few weeks. HDD gives worst performance after 3 years, go for SSD. Mac: M1 is worth it. Any incompatibility will be fixed in a year. Already lot of things fixed. You've to buy extra monitor, developers/creators, they need big screen, 15.6" is very costly in Mac laptop. Upgrading is costly, as only official stores has parts & rights to fix it within warranty. Try to get from outside India, as they've better configs & pricing.

Yeah but it's a relative thing...based on purpose of usage
One thing which is very annoying in windows 10, their photos app, movies app are way too slow, it takes time to simply open an image.
But at least they have this feature where you can open one photo and view all the photos by using arrow keys. Mac doesn't have similar thing. Only thing I could find is "preview" in which neither I can zoom pictures nor smoothly go to next picture just by using right arrow key... everytime need to figure out if to use right arrow or down arrow.
I would love if you could solve my problem.
Lol i bet you have 30K laptop, dont compare a 2Lakh mac to a 50K windows
Just falls behind the long legacy that windows and mac have established, but I think the DIY capability of Linux does make it easily adoptable...

We cant use Swift in Windows. Swift is a programming language used to design apps for iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, etc. Java is for Android. Xcode is software like Android Studio. In the case of Programming, I love MAcs. It has most languages and is awesome.

People who are complaining about Windows Performance. They should know that it's not the problem with Windows. It's the problem with their Hardware specially Hard Drive.
If you want to get good performance with Windows then you should have:
1. Minimum Core i5
2. Minimum 8 GB Ram
3. SSD (Never Hard Disk)
4. Remove Bloatwares
5. Disable useless program on Startup.
what is your opinion on getting a mac and installing windows alongside it? Because apparently the best windows is the dell xps and that does not even come close to the m1 in terms of performance and price. I think a 512gb mac could do the trick.

Android studio runs very smooth in macbook and i did not face any difficulty to operate the Android studio in mac

@Neel well. I do a lot of video rendering. And all MacBooks have a issue where the cooling system is junk and can't help the cpu to sustain full performance after just 2-3 minutes of 1440p video rendering the cpu drops to like 200-300 MHz rendering the computer unusable .this happens with my sister's 2018 macbook pro even with fresh thermal paste and happens on both Windows and Mac OS and I not a Mac os or windows person I'm an Linux Guy.

Windows is best when compared to Apple. It is easily upgradable & very good for developers & gamers. Has something for everyone for all in every budget range. The only reason I would use Mac for is when doing graphic related content (like Photoshop & Effects, Maya etc).

I have faced horrible experiences with windows , when ever i tried to run heavy softwares the blue shutdown pop up screen shows, but i have nice experience with linux and macOS they are great in terms of user experience, first few I have struggled with Linux and windows but now its smooth but yeah obviously you can play game smoothly on Mac and on linux, in terms of that windows hands down best but I have coding related work so for me both linux and macOS best 😌.

I am a Linux user. I have tried Ubuntu, kali, linuxmint, linuxlite, manjaro, pop os, elementary os and Zorin os till now and i love ubuntu kali and manjaro.
i recomment to go with light weight linux distro and customize theme and you will get best performance.

As an experienced user of multiple laptops.
Windows:
Reset Windows for every 2-3 years.
Cleanup programs just work for few weeks.
HDD gives worst performance after 3 years, go for SSD.
Mac:
M1 is worth it. Any incompatibility will be fixed in a year. Already lot of things fixed.
You've to buy extra monitor, developers/creators, they need big screen, 15.6" is very costly in Mac laptop.
Upgrading is costly, as only official stores has parts & rights to fix it within warranty.
Try to get from outside India, as they've better configs & pricing.

Great explanation…No comparison between Mac and PC. PC is far cheaper, lot of flexibility in hardware and software. With some ingenuity, you can get many softwares free for pc. Mac is good for people with deep pockets, little computer knowledge and graphic professional. Yes, also as a fashion statement and for show off by actors in movies.
