In this video, I'm taking you on a full room tour of my Solo Balcony cabin onboard P&O Aurora.
I stayed in this cabin for a short 3-night cruise from Southampton to Bruges in Belgium, and back. I've stayed in solo cabins from P&O Cruises in the past (on Britannia) so knew roughly what to expect from this room type, and I was really impressed!
Considering P&O Aurora is the oldest ship in the P&O Cruises fleet, she's ageing really well, but I'll show you more about that in another video.

This looks great, so much space for a solo cabin. This must be one of the cabins added when the kids clubs were removed as it’s lacking the sparkly pink bathroom that we love on Aurora!

Don't mind me, I'm way behind and just catching up...
That's a nice room! Maybe a bit dated but nice and clean, that's paramount for me, and has everything one would need. The fridge door should open the other way, that's an oversight that reflects poorly on them. I agree with you about the bed however, that size allows for more floor space and walking around room so perhaps that's why they opted for that since it is a room for one. I've never seen a balcony like that. I guess you won't be sunbathing on it but on the plus side, it is so private you don't need to put on pants to go out. 🤭

The cables are to pull latches to remove the TV from it's mounting. In an ideal world you wouldn't leave them hanging looking ugly!
Ahh, yes someone did tell me this onboard. It stumped me for days, haha!
Looks like a pretty good cabin-nice that they have a solo balcony cabin! Maybe a larger bed or a bedside table on the other side. Weird the fridge is right by the curtains, though. Those shoelace cables(!) Never seen that either, but might swivel the TV. Hooks are handy. Bathroom not bad, but that shower curtain…😂 will be interested if you feel a lot of motion at the end of the ship. I’ve never been on a sheltered balcony, but would come in handy in the rain. Nice cabin tour.

Emma and I had to share the biscuits - one packet ( which contains two biscuits ) was what they left us each day. Solo cruising has some advantages...!

Thanks for the tour. The strings hanging looked ridiculous. I read below what they were, but they couldn't stash them behind the tv? Too bad "American" lines don't have the option of a kettle in cabins. They probably consider us too stupid to not set things on fire. 😂
Ha, so they must be hidden normally but they hadn’t tucked mine up - it stumped me for days, haha! That’s so funny about the kettle - I would love one on american ships, and have always thought that’s just me being a Brit hahaha
Fraser, this bed is called a semi-double in my country, which 2 slim people can sleep together. The balcony window is cute. Is this cabin at the corner of the forward or aft of Aurora? June
