I bought a backup bottle of EC BP C923 due to all the hype and FOMO. I like A123 more. 🥃
A couple of people have said that. I was completely convinced I had A123 in second here. Still scratching my head. For me though, on this day, I prefered the C923 by a fair amount. Always just my thoughts though. Glad you have, and enjoy the A123! Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour At this point, C923 drinks too hot for me. Maybe it will change over time.
Another channel had two reviewers tasting all three of this year's ECBPs blind and the clear winner for them was A123.
@bethereagainproductions6534 wild! I sampled them again reading the labels and C923 I still my favorite. However A123 seems better than B523. I am worried my wife mis poured! That said. I still prefer C923. Thanks for sharing other experiences. Cheers.
Awesome video Jon. The A123 had a few months of being open before sending, and the C923 was a fresh bottle crack. Love doing blinds because you never know what is really in front of you.
Until you revealed which was which I had it A-C-B. These are all good whiskies and Elijah Craig really knows when to pull the barrel regardless of age.

I only have the A123 and it was my first ever ECBP. I like it but would love to get my hands on the C923 for comparison. Cheers and happy new year 🥃

Oh wow Jon. We finally had some bottles pop up at LCBO over the last 2-3 days. Not cheap but I've had curiosity about the ECBP so I grabbed a bottle and it is an A123. There are a ton of controversial reviews as you said. I suppose the time will tell if the ECBP A123 is worth the money. It is a 12 year and unchillfiltered statement so it sure sounds good :)
These are all good. My comments are only about the differences I could tell on this particular day. Let me know what you think of the A123 when you get the chance to enjoy it! Cheers!
Interesting note, as soon as you sampled the second one I figured it was C923 from your reactions but also noted that the color gold was associated with it, too bad we will probably not get it here in Ontario but for now we have A123 which I have not yet cracked but I have a feeling all three will satisfy most. These are really all good, and I'm sure the A123 will hit the spot! I love this GlenAllachie single cask PX. Pushing the sweetness a bit, but the strength and core malt keep it in check. I hope you have a fantastic New Years too!

Happy New Year, Jon. Was lucky enough to score an A and C batch this year and with some air in the bottle I found the A batch was nosing and drinking amazing this past weekend. Normally I can find the B batch more easily in my parts but based on what I’ve heard and seen decided to hold off this year. Perhaps I should snag one though if I see it. The C batch is definitely great stuff, at first I was slightly confused by the LEVel of hype around it - was enjoyable to me but nothing extra special - however it’s definitely been opening up with some time and offering more complexity. Delicious stuff. Always one of my favorite bourbons whichever way ya slice it despite the batch variation, as long as the price doesn’t get too crazy. Appreciate the review, thanks Jon!

Too many people have said the B523 is not great for me to recommend hunting it down. However, if these labels were right, on this day, I prefered the B523 to the A123. Just my thoughts though. One distillery, three casks, three bottles, three versions of what are (basically) the same spirit. That's one heck of a hook! Then multiply that by...well, we all get the picture.
The endless possibilities never fail to fascinate.
Tonight we're spending with dear friends, sitting in front of the fireplace channel, enjoying good conversation and camaraderie. Marvin surprised me with the 'Kildara' and the 'Cath-Nah-Aven' from Macaloney's for Yule. They're going with us to share. Haven't cracked the Kildara yet, that's for closing out the year.

Bonne Annee, Happy New Year Jon. Very good video as always. I am unfortunaletly unable to ever get my hand on a HCBP. It is not available in SAQ or in LCBO. When I try to get one from Alberta on line, they go so fast it is impossible to get a hold of one. C’est la vie I guess. Again, a very Happy new year to you and your family. All the best for 2024

There are still bottles of batch A123 available at some of the LCBO store locations in Ontario.

@@Rohit_M Bonjour. Here is an update for you. Following your information yesterday, I place an order last night with the LCBO and was able to secured 1 bottle of A123 at the Orleans, branch. It took me 3 hrs back and forth but I am really happy. I am reslly looking forward to take a dram of it. This weekend. Thanks a million and Happy New Year. All the best for 2024
