    FIRST: PRICE
From a BUSINESS perspective, it’s interesting to see how Tesla choses to price their cars…unlike most car manufacturers, you don’t have a lot of options with Tesla. This is done on purpose to be able to streamline the production process as much as possible for Tesla, keep overhead low, and build in as much profit margin as possible while they continue growing…and, I think it’s a great strategy.
    TWO: GLITCHES
Half the time I go to open the car door…it just doesn’t open for whatever reason. So, in order to open it…I have to unlock my phone…from there, it’s another 50/50 chance of it working…and, if all else fails, I have to sit there while the Tesla app loads on my phone…which usually takes 5-10 seconds…and then, once it’s opened up, the car will unlock. A little minor annoyance more than anything…but, still…I hope this is fixed at some point.
    THREE: PAINT ISSUES
In terms of paint quality…overall, I’ll be honest…it’s just okay, and while it’s probably GOOD enough…there are some areas of the car that needed attention. There have also been issues with under-spray between some of the body panels that were missed….now, in Tesla’s defense, NONE of these are actually noticeable if you aren’t looking for them…but, once you see it, it’s hard to miss.
    FOUR: FUNCTIONALITY
This car pretty much DOES do it all. Storage is absolutely incredible…you have the front trunk, which I have NEVER actually used…but, it’s cool that it’s there. You also have a HUGE trunk with seats that fold down anytime you haul stuff.
    FIFTH: SENTRY MODE
The small cameras around the car can used for recording motion, and then storing that footage on a memory card for you to view later. I WISH…however…that there was an option to LIVESTREAM the Sentry Mode from your phone just to check on things…that way, your car could almost act like a security camera wherever it goes…I also wish you could record audio with this, as well…so, while something is up to no good doing something, you could hear what they’re saying.
    SIXTH: THE TOUCH SCREEN
When you’re parked, the entire screen turns into an entertainment console where you could watch RUclips videos, go on the internet, check in on Netflix, etc.. UNFORTUNATELY…to have access to anything that requires the internet, you do need to pay for their data streaming, which costs an extra $9.99 per month…personally, I wish I just had the option to use my phone data and tether that to the car to use.
AND IDEALLY…at some point in the future…I’d like for the touch screen to be customizable, where you can re-arrange the icons depending on your own preference, similar to an iPhone.
But, on a more positive note…overall, my ownership experience with Tesla has - by far - been INCREDIBLY enjoyable. The minor annoyances are really just that…minor…and, overall, I LOVE the car, and in a way - it’s spoiled me from enjoying anything else. I literally wouldn’t get another car besides a Tesla at this point, just because I like it so much.
This is the only car, too, that just gets BETTER with time, as weird as it is to say. Tesla constantly releases updates every month or so that improve the features of the car, that increase its mileage, that maximizes its speed, and they’re constantly optimizing…so, this has only gotten MORE ADVANCED since I bought it.
HOWEVER…If I were to do it all over again, I do regret not getting the long range model instead…that would've saved me so much time from having to make extra stops at super chargers. And I should’ve bought the white interior…lesson learned.

Seems like a good idea yeah, but it should be advertised better to the car owner that way the feature can be turned on and off. It's a great feature for when you park at a charging station, not so much when you have your car parked in your garage though.

Year-over-year inflation stood at 6.5% in December 2022-the lowest that figure has been in more than a year. Inflation was in line with what economists expected and gave many of them a reason to believe that the peak of inflation may be behind us. I have approximately $150k stagnant in my port_folio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?

8:30 this ain't a glitch, i guess. Its a security feature. Its so that no one can remove the charging cable from your car except you. The paint coverage issue is not just a cosmetic thing, it's an important measure of corrosion protection if you want the car to last longer than 3-5 years (which you are lucky to not have to deal with living in SoCal). For a even basic tier car manufacturer, this would be unacceptable. For premium car company, this magnitude of lapse in process control is simply appalling.

The white interior actually doesn’t get dirty really. My model 3 has a white interior and I was honestly really impressed at how easy it is to keep clean and how hard it is to get dirty. I’ve gotten some pretty heavy duty stuff on the seats too - when I did lithography work I would accidentally get pure black, sticky, oily, heavy duty ink on the seats driving home. Didn’t have anything to clean it off at first so I had to leave the ink there for a couple days once. It all came of super easily and absolutely nothing that has gone on the seats while I’ve owned this car has managed to stain the seats or make them dirty at all. I was hesitant about white seats too, but they look awesome and are easy to maintain, I highly recommend them.

Another time I pulled into an 75 KW charging station with 50 miles left and charged to 125 miles in 10 minutes. You do not have to charge from empty to full. In fact it takes 20 minutes to go from 300 miles to a full 320 mile charge on my 3. Electric cars tend to charge very slow at 90% or above battery capacity. It is best to chargé between 10% to 70% of battery capacity to get the fastest charging speeds.

agreed- road tripping is not designed to go to 100% charge just get where you are going. -so use quicker charges. just get home or next charger, unless very bad weather then top off "just in case"

    • @joehemmann1156
      @joehemmann1156 4 года назад +1

True, but you have to dig to find this advice, electric car companies are always pushing their range, but for this exact reason I think there should be a "recommended" range that they also disclose that reflects optimal distance between charges that will minimize charging time while road tripping. This would give prospective buyers a better sense of how much extra time a trip home to see their parents 600 miles away will cost them.
Of course, your driving habits will impact range a lot too, and there's no way automakers can account for that. I drive like a grandma and get about 20% further range out of my B Class than its specs claim it can go, but I feel most drivers lean aggressive and hurt their range rather than help.

I would however recommend it be used separately as having it on the passenger where an airbag would be but then that would be dangerous. Instead allowing a screen to appear underneath a glovebox and slide out to then better position it to your liking. It wouldn't really be a great idea just for that reason and may be inconvenient.

What you do need consent for is posting it on the internet or sharing it with all your friends. That being said there is nothing wrong with using it as a security camera and giving that data to the authorities should you need to.
Edit: okay I was wrong, you can post online without consent as long as you conceal their identity.

I appreciate how this guy talks about "equity" for a *car loan*, so early in the video. It makes it clear that he's probably not worth listening to, so it's a nice time saver! Of course I'll never be able to hear about "building equity" with a car. Such a loss....

I chalk it up to Tesla still being in its infancy. Look at Kia and Hyundai back when they were new, quality suffered. Now, they're near the top of the industry in overall quality. I think in a few years Tesla will be up there too.
