Hi, former Tesla employee here. The buttonless design is for simplicity in manufacturing. I understand the frustration but it aligns with Tesla mission. 4:19
Also, touching on your thoughts on a heads up display, and I do think that is a missed opportunity, but I also recognize that it's not really necessary. And it also aligns with Tesla's mission When you make an EV with less parts, you can make them faster, and therefore more of them. It also costs less, and weighs less. Teslas Mission is to accelerate the worlds transition to sustainable transportation and energy, and the only way to do that is to get as many EVs on the road for as cheap as possible.
To an extent, I agree that the lack of buttons can be slightly distracting, but voice commands are actually surprisingly good. I no longer even think of looking at the screen for climate controls... it´s worth getting used to it!
3 years for me too! Love mine and absolutely no issues. I would add to this it’s a fantastic family car and always feel incredibly safe with my 2 little ones. Even after 3 year we love going for weekend drives as a family and it’s still exciting and fun. And yes the bloody windscreen wipers are horrible haha
Pro tips: -to set shown speed limit, you don't have to touch the speedlimit on the screen, just soft pull and hold the gear selector/autopilot stick for 2 seconds. - to disengage autopilot, soft push up the gear selector stick, instead of pressing the break pedal. Hold your foot over the acc-pedal to catch the regen braking from slowing the car. -if you only have the standard autopilot and want to change lanes, simply press the blinker in the direction, change lanes and activate autopilot again by double tapping. This will automaticly deativate the blinker. One movement less when driving. -keep charge between 40-65%. It will greatly improve battery health. Mine is 3 Years old, 70'000km and I have 2.1% degradation.
Have you checked out the model 3 highland? It’s the refreshed model 3. Same price but 100 more miles per charge and new look. Definitely look into it because that’s what I plan on upgrading too because it’s a significant change and it comes out next year
@@user-fi6yk4si3y Only base models with LFP batteries should be charged to 100% frequently. The Long range AWD and Performance still use the higher performance Li-ion batteries
@@VibesInMotionAlmost everything has a BMS which has low and high voltage cutoff. I can’t imagine that 0 is actually 0. So should be 100% fine to go to 100% and 0 every time. Of course when storing I’d assume it should still be around 70-80%
Month 2 with mine. LFP rear-wheel drive here in gloss black and it's totally changed my opinion on Tesla cars. Supercharger network also comes in clutch for road trips but I'm charging at home 90% of the time and our electricity bill is still in the negative thanks to solar.
Look for free charging options in your area too. The power company where I live put free charging stations at a bunch of libraries and grocery stores. I haven't paid a cent for charging in the 6 months I've owned the car.
I just got the 2022 model 3 base and it’s absolutely the car I wanted. As a newly grad student was the only trim I could afford, got a great with the tax credit. Below $18k with 34k miles. With the RWD on standard it’s putting out 0-6 in 5 seconds which feels really great. I love my car and pray it last the next ten years for me.
Great review. I own a 2021 Model Y and have over 25,000 miles on it and have no complaints. I have been on several long trips of over 1,000 miles and never had a problem finding a supercharger.
3 months for me. Love the car so far. First thing I noticed was how well it drove. When you turn, it turns with no weight or resistance. It drives quietly, but you hear every bump in the road. Love the quiet "space ship" hum of the motors. Love how the car can warm the interior while parked before you drive. Love the boom of the stereo. Wish there was a button for the lights and wipers. Takes me a while to find them while driving. EVs are new to me, so I want to stay positive and enjoy it. They'll be the norm in the future. Good to know there are many out there now with 100K miles and no real issues. Best car I've owned so far.
MY FAVORITE CAR I'VE EVER OWNED. Bought my Performance late 2020. Designed my own wrap, installed the Startech kit. She has never let me down. The most reliable car. The only issue i've encountered is the depreciation.
As a long term tesla skeptic I bought a Model 3 Sr+ from 2021. Im never going back to gas again and as long as tesla keeps building great cars then I will never switch from Tesla.
@@Hussain-bs5mu it's mostly bullshit. TESLA are just fine. Go sit in one and tell me how you feel with "low quality build" + put in perspective how much money you would save on fuel alone.
@@BSquare1989Software updates improve the performance of the car. A 5 year old Tesla has the same user experience as a Tesla that was just purchased today. Battery degradation is expected. Range is almost never an issue for most people anyway. Going from 270 miles of range to 246 isn’t a big deal. For most people, traveling 80 miles a day is a lot.
My 2021 M3 SR+ is terrific. The auto wipers work 90+% of the time. The most common “error” is I start the wiper action rather than wait for them to kick on on their own. Lack of patience… And I absolutely LOVE the lack of buttons, dials, knobs, sliders, and all those silly doodads - and I’m an old guy! 😂 No way would I want Tesla to change that (as for everyone else, I don’t care - never buying one those old style cars!) The plusses you mentioned are definitely advantageous. Good video.
@@Trust_but_Verify I am doing this purchase on my company as the benefits are pretty good, these benefits are only available for new models and sadly model X has been discontinued in the UK so I only have access to used models (I’m fine with this however I’d loose out on all the great company tax relief benefits) so the model Y is my best choice! Also if my budget stretched that extra 20k then the Audi RSQ8 would be on my radar 😂
@@Oliur dendrite forming battery degradation makes a small part of battery not recyclable. most electric battery are not being recycled, and they dont last as long as is apparent in low prices in used market for electric cars, lower driving range in higher mileage cars etc. combustion cars last as long as the metals dont rust, anti rust systems exist but arnt used, most combustion cars dont last as long as they could also because people dont change oil and oil every 5k miles and oil filter every other oil change (when its dirty). oil is recycled by us government , bio fuels, e fuels, hydrogen combustion, are all sustainable. current ev will rust and short circuit in wastelands under rain, moist air etc, they will not be recyclable even when they do somehow start recycling battery by weird materials science stuff without chemical side affects that would make such thing unworthy. if people really wanted to reduce emissions, they would use the limited battery supply to reduce emissions where they happen most, through all cars through all of time: in low speed high engine power situations, which is especially bad in traffic happening near people like crowds of people at sidewalk in a busy city street. normal hybrid cars already do this better than electric car approach, where you can make many hybrids out fo the same battery mass used to make 1 electric car. even better: have electrci assited turbo small single combustion chamber engine charging up pressurized liquid and or air and making electric energy with linear movement, the piston will be pushed back into place by hydrallic switch or something so combustion can push it to make energy , with something like linear electric actuator, which maybe similar to electric spinning motor then the power would be released as needed. they probably will need to use minimal amount of battery (assuming its meaningful to reduce emissions to such a extent). recycalable electric motor by mahle, but it needs transmission, subaru wrx high torque transmission, and toyota uses a first gear for high torque then continues the other gears with ContiniouslyVariableTransmission. such system will be easier to package than combustion and ready for switch out systems easier when a new technology becomes worthwhile, like maybe hydrogen combustion that isnt too hot so the only emissions is water or something, or electric hydrogen, or a proper electric car battery . consider tony heller suspicious observers, and tom nelson, etc in their takes on climate change... also see richard vobes on ulev expansion, romanian tvee video called why woke wont go broke, and see how they print money and give it to people like blackrock who can weaken people to make them easier to control fro power centralization, especially with printed money given my private corp called federal reserve, making money more abundant but it represents the same real wealth, causing everyones dollar to be worth less, whiel they have more... its stealing. blackrock promotes climate change narrative. they constantly get their predictions wrong, they apprently dont know what their talking about and i cant prove their narrative as even proabably correct either. they are taxing productivity and using climate change as a excuse to get ways to control people more in way that favors them at cost of us. look at hwo they put emissins laws retsirctions based on length and width of car but dont tax height, which makes cars unsafe in crash as i explain here, less areoydnamic, they tend to roll over more so less momentum preservation and less safe. they also set restriction based on engine size, which isnt fair because for eample, porsche used a bigger engine because it has less emissions per size than the samller engine which wouldve been less emissions. they also would tax weight of car, for reason i explained. theyd also not make it more difficult for small cars to meet emissiosn stansards, and not relax anti roll over standards and emissions standards for "suv" cars. but consider that burnt food feels bad like other things in nature that normally feel bad when harmful... similar to smelling smoking fumes like tobaco burning smoking fumes, such stuff causes cancer. such smoking wasnt seen as being so harmful until after so many people were moved to seed oils instead of natural fats as cooking oil stuff, which is known for causing health problems like cancer... and thats just 1 part of human health. so, you can argue its not all too meaningful to reduce emissions, but it definitely is better to lessen that stuff liek NOx, SO2, particulate matter (smoke), and heavy metal pariculate such as lead and arsenic, at least to some extent. maybe use CNG, LPG propane combustion.. more energy flow worsens battery degradation you can divide degradation across more battery cells to increase longevity, but the more you add , the exponentially more energy goes into and out the energy to move the car... because your not using all the energy stored in all that weight at a given average moment in driving, and the stuff is heavier per energy vs combustion. weight worsens natural wear damage of roads which costs resources and emissions to fix, heaviness makes car more damaging in car crash. making sructualy stronger part of sedan at same level of taller cars strong structure, protects upper part pf car (and people isnide it) safe from strong heavy parts of taller car, if the part in front of people is all fully crushed and tall car touches the people. nowdays is normally low to the ground to minimize tendency of car to roll over when turning quickly enough. sedan can rise quickly liek audi a8 air suspension, to get hit at a angle that minimizes damage, whiel keeeping car areodynamic and more able to preserve momentum around turns(not tending to roll over), while not being unsafe for non tall cars, by keeping weight low to ground. givign option to raise the car when user gets in, makes it easier for disabled old peopleto get into and out fo car and lift objects into car, by minimizing joign movement and msucle movement. it could give options to make ride less bumpy and stiffen up the ride to make it bumpy for preserving more momentum around turns by making it less tending to roll over. tires wear out emitting micro plastics that suppsoedly are endocrine disrupting, stuff goes into water supply food supply, similar situation with anti birth pill residue, etc, and its heavily petrol based. natural rubber from trees was used but gave far less grip, we could go back to using more of that with lighter weight cars, so less grip is used in dealing with weight, and more is used in gettting car to move and stop and preserve momentum for effiency and manual steering lotus elise style driving fun. rerember, this should be about lowering emissions of already sustinable types of combustion, not reducing combustion use. rear wheel drive means less regenerative braking, so less degradation, while making it lighter weight in rear mid engine sports car style weight distribution, for dividing weight across all the tires more equal, so front wheels dont get overwhelmed by too much weight and cause car to loose grip, rear wheels help handle more of the weight. same with not making outer wheels handle all the grip without as much help from inner wheels , when car is turning sideways and car is still tending to move in the direction it was moving when it was speeding in straight line. besides preventing traction loss for saftey, this also allows preserving car momentum around turns , so less use of regenerative braking (which is also not as energy preserving) , brakes, engine lubricant, combustion fuel, battery energy, etc, so more longveity of all those things . this would also decrease weight, so less road wear damage, less damaging in a crash.
Using the right scroll wheel gives most commands to the car. Just say what you want the car to do, lower temperature, start wipers, start heat seat, etc. take advantage of this easy fix.
Love that wrap. I've adjusted the windows on my 2019 Model 3. You have to take the door panels off to access the bolts to loosen to adjust them. Made a big difference in taming the wind noise. There are a few vids on YT showing how to do this.
If you press the end of the left hand stalk, you get an automatic windscreen wipe, and also a menu for Auto, 1, 2 and 3 speed wipes, so you don’t have to mess about with the touch screen.
My mum just bought one and completely changed my mind on ev cars. As a car guy every other guy deff needs to try them I’m convinced. I still wouldn’t do a road trip with it but definitely daily it
I bought into the FSD 2020 MY, and let me tell you, I love it. The first year was rough, but over the years, updates made a tremendous improvement, and to be part of the experience has been phenomenal, to say the least. I've been using FSD from my house to work back and forth daily (approx. 140 miles round trip), and it's worth it. Every day I look forward to the next update feeling giddy about it every time.
Agree on all points! I've had mine for five years now. I was one of the original reservation holders and the performance hadn't been announced yet. My only regrets are buying full-self driving, which is still absolute TRASH, and waiting a few months to spend that extra money on a performance model. And yes, the "auto" wipers drive me crazy. The wife's Prius Prime Advanced wipers are pretty much perfect. My Tesla's rarely turn on in light rain, run at mach 5 when almost dry after turning on manually, then run slow in downpour. What the hell, Elon? Not sure if you mentioned it, but the major software updates, especially at Christmas, is like getting a new car every year, that's another reason why you probably still have yours. I think back on where the software was when I bought it, and were it is now and the progress has been amazing. Still waiting on an "avoid highways" on the nav. Hopefully, this Christmas. Cheers!
I own a 2022 Model 3 RWD and the windshield wipers work pretty well on my car. They sense when the first raindrops hit the windshield and start working. If the storm increases, the wipers automatically increase their speed. They aren't perfect, but they work pretty well and adjust really well for heavy rain. That being said, Tesla released an update where you can control the wiper speed by pressing the left button on the steering wheel to the left, which is what you asked for in the video.
I have had mine for about 2 months now and I am so happy to be apart of the Tesla fam. I will agree about the safety with the speed thing it really does help get out of uncomfortable situations
About buttons... MOST everything you need can be done by VOICE commands. Once you begin to learn them its ez. For wipers you can say "wipers on one" and they come on or "stop wipers" and they stop. No searching or eyes leaving road. Very fair video. TY. It cost me here in NY at $0.20/ kwh so that's about $8 US to "fill up" at home. It's much more at superchargers but still less than gas.
Agree on all points, had my m3 for a month now and bought it used, so got a great deal on it. We dont have superchargers here, but there are plenty of fast chargers dotted around the country, so longer trips are no issue as well. A quick 15 minute stop and you're good to go. The savings are awesome, monthly basis I save around 400€ versus my previous diesel car. Several friends who I have shown the car are considering getting one as well. There is only one con to all of this, EV makes sense only when you have the possibility to charge at home or at work.
i would disagree with your last sentence. You can easily charge when you are going shopping for your daily food. A lot of supermarkets now have an option to charge while shop there. And thats with 300kw, so a fast charger. 20-30 min in the supermarket and your car is full. So you dont need to charge at home, even if its the best for the kwh/€ price.
Pretty much same degradation on my Tesla Model 3 (2021). I charge my car mostly on superchargers. It's been 2 years and 4 months since I bought it. I am ok with the degradation. But it'd be better if it has longer range as I drive high way a lot.
My friends got a model 3 thats done 120k miles its a standard battery (Entry level) model. Currently a full charge is 201 miles. So its lost around 50-60 miles from its orginal range. Which is a fair amount when it only did 260miles to start with. Its out of warranty now and he's got it for sale for 14k... Its a 2020 model. Something to keep in mind if you are buying something with higher milage. Your range will be pretty low if your buying a high milage standard model.
I picked up my model 3 LR last Monday the 22nd ! My first electric car . There’s a few issues nothing major and it will get sorted , but I have been pleasantly delighted with the car . Actually I love it , and the cabin build quality as good if not better than any German car .
I don't know how this can happen to Tesla owners. But you don't need to touch the screen when you want to change your wiper speed! When you tap once to wipe the windshield, a pop-up menu with four speeds and an auto mode for the wiper appears on the screen. Additionally, your steering wheel is visible in that window, showing < > on the steering wheel button. So, while that pop-up window is displayed, you can regulate the wiper speed using your steering wheel button (I'm not sure if it's reversed in the UK, but in Central Europe, I use the left button on my steering wheel).
You can now adjust windscreen or other functions by holding right steering scroll wheel and set it for what you want, wipers being one. Agree about that
In the issues section. Yes the wipers sometimes have a mind of their own, but this, along with your dislike of the aircon not having physical buttons is easily sorted by using the excellent voice commands. My Model 3 is the only car thats come close to following vocal commands.
My Model 3 Performance from March 2022 has done 47 000 miles, with no maintenance cost, 1 issue that was free and 7.1% degradation (according to Tessie). I save around 5000 euro on fuel per year compared to my previous 2liter Mercedes C Coupé.
I (quite) like the Tesla Model 3, I considered one for a short while, but decided to go BMW M340i in the end. Performance-wise the T3 is slightly faster in a straight line up to about 100mph, but the build quality and refinment inside a 3-series is on another level, the comfort and way it handles all noise and bumps is just amazing after test driving it.
really great review. It sounds very authentic and not forced. Nice quality and sounds very honest appreciate the work it took to put a quality video like this together.
Am I the only person that actually loves the touch screen? I just got one and I’m in love with everything in one section. I did turn off the windshield wipers but I just click the side button and roll it with the left button on the steering wheel.
Had to comment about the 3 years 25k mile on it. lol. I've had mine for 1.5 years, at 39k miles. No issues, only a parking sensor go bad but replaced under warranty for free. 2022 Long range.
you're first complaint was that the windshield wipers "are the worste windsheild wipers youve ever seen" but did not mention that it "has a mind of its own" when you have them set to Auto. Required when autopilot/fsd beta is enabled. There are 4 pre-set options for the wiper speed otherwise. Which is perfectly fine. Edit: Love the wrap though
Mine also now 3 Years in, 88k km on the clock. Front Suspension Bars were exchange under warenty, thats it, nothing else. My Cons: ride is to firm, i would prefer it a little bit more on the comfortable side, still some software issues with autopilot like slowing down in areas where it should'nt (Autobahn, 120km/h, Speed Sign correctly recognized but decelerating to 60km/h) and also to much warning beep when it thinks you cross a line. Other than that, best car ever, period! 🙂
FSD in reality is actually great. When you really test FSD, you try to test it in all different roads and scenarios, that is what it is meant to do. But on a person by person use case, for example you only drive from home to work, 5 days a week. And your particular road between those 2 locations is pretty standard. FSD can pretty much get you from point A to point B with zero issues in that person's particular use case.
Spot on review of the Tesla 3. Repeats what majority of owners see, think, and feel. Been enjoying a '23 LR since Feb. Wind noise still an off/on issue w/ front windows. Other than that, been a great ride so far. No dealer price hike BS to contend with during purchase process. Didn't spend 2-4hrs in the dealership while they F around w/ their buyers. Definitely could use a heads-up display. Would also like to see sonar come back and better implementation with auto wipers.
Markets outside the USA retain the sonar as well as the camera upgrades - I think the rumours of the new model re the removal of stalks are likely to be true - the latest SW release includes customizable steering wheel button functions - might be in prep for the updated model - generally I use voice for everything (incl. wipers and speed) but I think I would really miss at least a turn/indicator stalk - I could do without a gear stalk but turn stalk not so sure.
Push the windscreen wiper button and then you can use the left scroll wheel on you steering wheel to go right or left. There you go, you've got your button control now :)
It's the automatic wiper function which has a mind of its own. I've had it go on in situations where i didn't see anything on the windscreen, in mid summer without any rain. Also, I've had it not do anything during a full blown rainstorm where i was waiting for it to go on but it just didn't. It's my only complaint about the car.
I have the exact same model as you: M3 performance, gray, white interior, 3 years old. There aren't many of them on the road here in the U.S. either and I don't know why since it's such a great model.
You can change things like the climate control and wipers both by voice and also by using a long press on the left side thumbwheel (brings up functions).
I agree with the auto-wiper mode. I also wish they'd offer satellite radio, even if through the screen like Spotify. Streaming through the phone is clunky. You missed describing just how efficient the 3 is with space. Plus lots of cubbies.
I have an electric motorcycle and agree the speed is safer. If i need to accelerate out of trouble or away from a dodgy driver this ability to pin the throttle and gain distance is amazing.
FSD, while not worth the price, is incredibly useful TODAY. It handled my 1 hour commutes from a suburb outside of Los Angeles to work in downtown LA without issue quite often. If you ever take the car on long drives, it's incredibly helpful. And as a tech guy it's so interesting to watch the improvements which come out nearly every other month. That's just my 0.02.
A great summary for someone like myself considering buying a second hand EV and wanting to see what real world ownership is like - the telling comment for me is that you would buy another one again. My biggest attraction is not having to stomach the ridiculously high fuel costs currently, feel like I am doing my bit to move to a greener planet as well as moving to a company that is 100% about EV's they are not hedging their bets but I was worried about being an 'early adopter' and paying the price for it.
Had a near miss just the other day that I was able to dodge thanks to my M3P's speed! Have loved mine since getting it in September 2019, am a bit jealous of the updated MCU and heatpump but don't see myself getting rid of it for a while yet.
Drove a Polestar 2 today, very relaxing, audio was amazing, everything is spot on, but the price is insane 😂 if they were like £14K or less id 100% go for one, but the price is mad on these cars
You’re dead wrong about buttons. I fucking hate cleaning a car with 5 billion buttons! You can use voice control for all the things you mentioned, and the new left scroll wheel update as well.
Great video. I do think Model 3 owners need to be more honest about maintenance. Front Upper Ball joints are likely to fail within warranty and definitely will fail post warranty. The actual manufacturer of the coolant says its only good for 5 years, so a flush should be performed within the warranty period. Brakes should be inspected and cleaned every 1-2 years, as they will rust and corrode, especially in colder climates where roads are salted. I'm sure there's more points of interest. Just because Tesla doesn't put something on the maintenance schedule doesnt mean it wont need servicing.
I love the Model 3 but never liked its one-pedal driving. I just could never get used to it. It made me feel like I didn't know how to drive every time I used it as it doesn't feel very intuitive. I much prefer using two pedals. The one thing I do notice about driving the Model 3 over a standard car is that people on the road seem to have more respect for you. People let me out at junctions or pulling off whereas if I was driving a Toyota people would ignore me. People kind of treat you like a VIP on the road and that was the very first thing I noticed when switching to the Model 3. The only thing I don't like about it is that the charging port is at the back rather than at the front. I hate having to back into charging stations. I much prefer it at the front like the Nissan Leaf
What a great update, you were fair and balanced! I see some bitter people that just want a lot of views. You are a true gentleman! I own a 2018 Model 3 Dual Motor and I agree with all of your pluses and minuses.
i have watched tens and tens of reviews on the model 3 and this one is by far the best one. i was unsure about getting one but now i certainly will. i am just waiting on the release date on the new tesla 3 highland for the US market. hope it is very soon!
Completely agree on FSD. Such a waste when none of the features are really available yet. If you do want more features, Enhanced Autopilot is the way to go. Even then, at $5000 USD in the states, it's hard to justify unless you have the extra cash.
As my dad is in a need of a car, im trying to convince him to get a model 3 (long range/perfomance) but he always nags about them being really terrible build quality and that they are really unreliable ,when it comes to the software and when it doestn work, it doesn't. So how is it? Do the faults with the system happen, if yes do they happen regularly?, how much "cheaper" would it be to own compared to a regular car?
The car will tell you if there’s an issue. You go to the app and raise a service ticket. It can either be fixed three ways: - Mobile so a technician will come to you (home, work, wherever you provide an address) - Workshop which usually are heavier tasks - Remotely so software is sent to the car by the diag team to fix the issue The true cost savings come from the lack of Maintenance and being able to charge at home through an energy tariff. A lot of people mention octopus energy so look into that. I hear people fully charging their car costing between £5 and £10 which is crazy
I've only had my model 3 almost a week now and its amazing, I got the long range model, mainly because I drive across the country frequently. I love it, before this I had a Peugeot e-208 GT, that was quick, this is much quicker.
Awesome video as always Olier! Picking up a Model Y in a month or so! For your next model 3, keep an eye out for Project Highland coming later this year! Also, what sunglasses are those?
I agree with that, a very good car overall but the only thing is just insurance very expensive compared with other EVS! I pay for my Kia E niro £580/year, on the other hand for a Tesla model 3 they gave me the cheapest £1400/year!!!
It will be interesting to see if the refreshed "Highland" Model 3 has enough changes to warrant a trade in. I suspect it won't be major based on the changes made to the Model S.
@@Uchejnr The tail lights and headlights look good but getting rid of the the turn signal stalk and replacing it with buttons on the steering wheel will be an issue for many. Overall, the changes aren't enough to trade an older Model 3.
Really cool wrap you have on that car. I may invest in one for my M3P myself. One year in and I still love my Model 3. I do share your complaints about the lack of physical buttons and the windshield wipers. And I wish the car was about a foot longer and the passenger compartment a touch lower to give it more of a sleek, aerodynamic sports car look and less of a hatchback look. But whenever I start to get down on my M3P, I find a spot where I can floor it and get that hit of adrenaline as it _teleports_ 100 feet forward. : )
The car looks awesome. Quick question about the wrap: what product do you use to maintain the wrap, keep it clean, keep it shiny etc? I've seen some satin gray wraps that look a bit dull... Possibly because they were not properly maintained?
3yo Model 3 here. Had front windshield cracked twice (2nd time while parked in garage), had top glass cracked, had all cameras & GPS go out, and had someone rear ended us and Tesla wanted to send us 250 miles to get fixed. All total $10k in repairs, not including rear damage and replacing tires. Will not purchase another. Have you ever gotten a flat while away from home? That’s another ordeal.
Thank you so much for posting this review, it has truly helped me. I am currently looking to take the plunge so this information is super useful. May I also say, I loved your presentation style, very clear, not at all clunky, awesome video style. Thanks
I have a 17 month old T3 LR with well below average mileage. After four reports of the same problem, speedometer, gear selector and lights disappearing off the screen whilst being it apparently now needs a new computer. There will be those owners who had no problems with their cars but I have been very unlucky.
Sometimes, when I'm depressed. I find this video in my feed where I can admire that slick wrap
Isn’t that a standard color?
Nevermind it’s a wrap 😂

-if you only have the standard autopilot and want to change lanes, simply press the blinker in the direction, change lanes and activate autopilot again by double tapping. This will automaticly deativate the blinker. One movement less when driving.
-keep charge between 40-65%. It will greatly improve battery health. Mine is 3 Years old, 70'000km and I have 2.1% degradation.
Actually the new lithium ion batteries like to be charged at 100% so their battery degradation is much better than previous years
Have you checked out the model 3 highland?
@@h0gheadS only free charger near me is a measly 4 kW, and it's way too close to my house (11 kW at home) to even warrant driving over there.
Nice! 🤙

My 2021 M3 SR+ is terrific.
The auto wipers work 90+% of the time. The most common “error” is I start the wiper action rather than wait for them to kick on on their own. Lack of patience…
And I absolutely LOVE the lack of buttons, dials, knobs, sliders, and all those silly doodads - and I’m an old guy! 😂 No way would I want Tesla to change that (as for everyone else, I don’t care - never buying one those old style cars!)

My Tesla has made my life easier. When I get home all I do is plug it in. For longer rides I just use a gas car.
Helpful vid for those looking for a long-term review! Wrap still looking nice 👏

I bought into the FSD 2020 MY, and let me tell you, I love it. The first year was rough, but over the years, updates made a tremendous improvement, and to be part of the experience has been phenomenal, to say the least. Cheers!
Have you tried contacting the customer support for it? See if it is actually a defect or something.
This is what I call a real-life car experience, Mannnn thank you very much. You made me think about getting a Tesla now! :)

You are lying to yourself if you think the interior of a Tesla is better than any German car
Fan control and wiper speed control, can be done with the left scroll wheel on the steering wheel.
Great to see a happy Tesla customer
Am I the only person that actually loves the touch screen? I just got one and I’m in love with everything in one section. I did turn off the windshield wipers but I just click the side button and roll it with the left button on the steering wheel.
No, you are not alone. :) I thought it was strange that he didn't mention that you can adjust the wipers with the scroll wheel.
Had to comment about the 3 years 25k mile on it. lol. I've had mine for 1.5 years, at 39k miles. No issues, only a parking sensor go bad but replaced under warranty for free. 2022 Long range.
After owning the M3P for over a year i cannot agree more on his review... I would have exactly the same review and same pain points... Great work
With you about the fan controls. Bring buttons and dials back.
you're first complaint was that the windshield wipers "are the worste windsheild wipers youve ever seen" but did not mention that it "has a mind of its own" when you have them set to Auto.
FSD can pretty much get you from point A to point B with zero issues in that person's particular use case.
not legal in UK/EU yet so we don't get the features the US gets with FSD. basically a waste of money out here...
This white leather is really growing on me. I am planning on picking up a Model Y Juniper next year.
A little over two years into my Model 3 ownership and haven't missed the FSD as well - But what an amazing car!
If you leave the wrap on much longer, it will take the paint clean off when you have to unwrap it in the future
Want to add that Model 3 is one of the safest cars money can buy. A benefit that I think makes Model 3 even better value.
Beautifully and eloquently explained..honestly nothing more to add. Well done
I bought mine 3 years ago. I absolutely love it as well.
FSD Beta is awesome in USA. Worth the $7k I paid.
Visiting the UK for the first time now (from United States) Cheers! Been to Cardiff, Bath, Bristol, London, and heading to the Brighton match tomorrow
I agree with the auto-wiper mode. I also wish they'd offer satellite radio, even if through the screen like Spotify. Streaming through the phone is clunky. You missed describing just how efficient the 3 is with space. Plus lots of cubbies.
Intro deserves a standing ovation 🔥
Not just intro, the hole video is fire 🔥
I have an electric motorcycle and agree the speed is safer. If i need to accelerate out of trouble or away from a dodgy driver this ability to pin the throttle and gain distance is amazing.
Yes i used the aircon changing a lot and that's one thing for sure would be better with physical buttons
Try the voice commands. Works really good once you understand them. Like using alexa.
100% agree on the windshield wipers. Mine will often go fast when it's barely a drizzle and slow down during a downpour. Complete fail
Really good video..I'm thinking of getting a Model 3 (2020 plate) which are about £15k now so would you recommend doing so?
FSD, while not worth the price, is incredibly useful TODAY. It handled my 1 hour commutes from a suburb outside of Los Angeles to work in downtown LA without issue quite often. If you ever take the car on long drives, it's incredibly helpful. And as a tech guy it's so interesting to watch the improvements which come out nearly every other month. That's just my 0.02.
This review is from the UK. We don’t have the same as you. Listen to what he said.
The recent update to let your left steering wheel button control the fan, wipers etc fixed the ‘everything on screen’ issue for me
Had a near miss just the other day that I was able to dodge thanks to my M3P's speed!

I agree with having physical buttons for ac or radio control!
Had my model Y LR for a month. Totally agree with all your pros & cons. Very happy with the car!
You skipped the tire expense part cleverly. Changing tire in a Tesla is a thing, i wish you mentioned the normal tire cost.
Best choice is a good choice. Very happy with my mod 3 LR 2023, and the Highlander should be even better. Enjoy and good luck.
Same!
As a m3p owner i love this thing its bike fast no fuss just press the accelerator and go.
It can either be fixed three ways:
- Mobile so a technician will come to you (home, work, wherever you provide an address)
- Workshop which usually are heavier tasks
- Remotely so software is sent to the car by the diag team to fix the issue
The true cost savings come from the lack of Maintenance and being able to charge at home through an energy tariff. A lot of people mention octopus energy so look into that. I hear people fully charging their car costing between £5 and £10 which is crazy
i have just gotten a used (69) SR+ and agree with all points so far, even at 6 secs to 60 its still fast imo.
Oliur car videos are the sauce 😮💨
In Norway I pay for my mod 3 LR £477 pound (6372 NOK) You should switch to another insurance company! You have been cheated.
Just ordered a 2020 performance and sold my 13 S. Can’t wait :)
Where did you get the wrap done and what did it cost? Looks sweet!
Yes 100% that the speed makes it safer to drive, you can get around bad drivers and get out of the way if needed.
It will be interesting to see if the refreshed "Highland" Model 3 has enough changes to warrant a trade in. I suspect it won't be major based on the changes made to the Model S.
Happy with the refresh changes?
@@Uchejnr The tail lights and headlights look good but getting rid of the the turn signal stalk and replacing it with buttons on the steering wheel will be an issue for many. Overall, the changes aren't enough to trade an older Model 3.
Fair enough. I personally think these changes are very welcomed and decent upgrade. Can't wait to seem them in person@@rkgsd
@@Uchejnr Any visual change is better than nothing, but real change would be something like the last generation Prius compared to the new Prius.
I have a model 3 and model y. I will say you’re lucky.
As someone looking at a M3 next this was a great insight into ownership, balanced and informative. Im upgrading from a Leaf
Ur in for a treat , this thing is way faster then a leaf or even a tree
3yo Model 3 here. Had front windshield cracked twice (2nd time while parked in garage), had top glass cracked, had all cameras & GPS go out, and had someone rear ended us and Tesla wanted to send us 250 miles to get fixed. All total $10k in repairs, not including rear damage and replacing tires. Will not purchase another. Have you ever gotten a flat while away from home? That’s another ordeal.
25,000 miles in 3 years? That’s nice, I do 25k every year here in phoenix.
There are those who say that the tires on 20 inch rims on Tesla last worse, ie break more often. Then the ride probably gets bumpier as well
Thank you so much for posting this review, it has truly helped me.
