As I am someone who actually trained in Kung Fu with Shaolin Monks for 12 years while in China, I can testify that a lot of this "bullshido"
      actually works.
The key is simply that you don't "set it up. Your
punching, your clinching, whatever, and you see/feel an opportunity to use this pushing hands, and it works. "Internal Power" is just physics. Aikido can be used once you become effective at more basic fighting first. Learn to true Kung Fu, Muay Tai, Taekwondo - the more practical systems FIRST the better. Then as shown in this video, you can use physics through form known as Aikido.
Anyway, a lot of Kung-Fu does work. The over
exaggeration in many of the demonstrations, do it a disservice, but they are only forms, not an actual fight.
In a real fight, techniques like this will put even MMA fighters to the ground easily.

You might not quite understand what Mizner is demonstrating. He is not sparring with The Martial Man nor is he faking the application of Jedi” or anything else mystical. I have not crossed hands with Mizner so I cannot attest to his personal level of skill but I have studied Tai Chi Chuan for years and have experienced (and, on rare occasion, done) things that I am sure you would say were fake. There are levels to this art that few of us achieve
You should go meet him. One of my classmates did attend one of his seminars, and what he was surprised by was the force and physicality Mizner demonstrated.

@@chrisortiz8077 Are we watching the same video? Mizner never pretends to move him without touching him. Look at the video closely. Every time The Martial Man is moved, it is the result of his physical contact with Mizner. I have never touched Mizner but I have touched people who have similar skills. What you see in these demonstrations are qualities that take years to develop.
I have nothing near this level of skill, but I have sent a larger opponent flying 10 feet away and all I felt was slight touch of his calf as he was twisting my arm over his shoulder. Instead of resisting his pull, I released downward in the direction of his pull, and there he went. I was so stunned, I called out “Oh my God” as he went flying and tried to catch him.
My teacher, who was watching, said all he saw was me turn ever so little to produce the effect. My understanding is not deep enough to do that at will. For one instant, if you had seen a limited person like me perform the operation, you would say it was fake.
Trust me, it is real. It is not combat but it is a Tai Ji skill.

Except there isn't much force to begin with. Quite the opposite, the "push" we see here is just a very gradual increase of pressure over time (almost no acceleration).
If we watch Tuishou involving Chen Yu (someone who Adam Mizner who publically stated to be an example of what mastery looks like), his partners tend to have more force and much more non-cooperativeness.
Force can still be done in a demo format as well. But we often don't see that here.

@chrisortiz8077 real pushing hands is a training exercise that develops many qualities that are useful in fighting. Things like sensitivity, rooting, listening (sensing the opponent's intent at a touch), uprooting the opponent, ground path (makes you very hard to move against your will and makes it much easier to move someone else).
Is that what's going on here? Not unless Adam suddenly got a lot better than his teacher or his partner got overly compliant. I'm better one number two.
If you want to see what taiji really looks like, search for Chen Ziqiang William Miller.

They've even found during abusive relaitonships that their brain waves look at the exact same on a brain scan as if they were the same person. The same thing happens to humans when they play music in synchronicisation . Same brain waves. This is just another aspect of this same phenomena.

This stuff only works when the other person participates. In an actual fight you'd get knocked out in seconds trying to pull this off.

I’ve taken king fu for many years I’ve seen displays of internal strengths, I’ve seen things that if I didn’t see for myself I wouldn’t believe. Not buying this. Not saying he doesn’t have incredible inner strength.
