Mr. Liang will be teaching in Vienna soon, so I wanted to see who he is and what he teaches, if it's worth attending his seminar. Well, this is the first video I've watched, and honestly, I don't know... In this video, at about 3:15 and later, he says that the hands are separated in the gongbu during the danbian. That is simply wrong. He doesn't know such an elementary thing? At 3:50 he even says it's impossible (to move both hands at the same time) - but the movement of both hands in danbian is driven by dantian rotation, so they must move at the same time... Of course we can separate them as a teaching tool, but that does not mean they should be always separated...
is this somewhere in Chiang Mai? I only sometimes come to Bangkok and like to hang out in the Lumphini Park in the morning and do some Chen Style. But would like to have some training with you at some time. Great content, thanks!
Wow thanks in doing Tai Chi for better balance, lot's of funny stuff, once told that hook was to poke in the eye, lol no then the push hand was "swung" under and up, and I questioned that, and when I did it more like as a block across the face, then out, told to go to the back of the class ;) hehe now our step out a bit to the back is leading with the TOE not heal and I asked why,, told this is how it is done,,,, period back of the class
Great stuff, thanks for the upload! I've been taught versions of this where the first movement is a strike against one opponent and the second movement is against another e.g. multiple attackers. What are your thoughts on this?
U should be facing the same direction as your opponent instead of facing face to face. Bend raise arm on his chin then bend him backwards ti take his. Balance, turn hips to face him then enter to throw
Actually, the two handed bow stance application of Single Whip works very well if you recognize that the application comes from turning the waist rather than the arm. The arm simply connects then the waist turns. The rest is impressive.
The point of taiji is to teach you to adapt endlessly depending on situation by moving with awareness. That's why taichi says to use all parts of the body depending on range. www.mangareader.net/kenji/150/7
But, there's nothing wrong with that. In applying a martial art you should focus on application of concepts. How can you have single applications working in a fluid environment like a fight? I could use single whip to life an arm and do a shovel hook to the ribs. Or I could use it in infighting as to control one arm , holding with the palm and wrist, whilst applying the hook hand as an uppercut. Different applications of the same technique, done in the way that seems helpful at the time.
That means it’s working as intended. It’s the same with us in Choy Li Fut, one move can be used for different purposes, and people say “that’s not what’s it’s used for!”
8:19 your opponent isn't just gonna let you trap his hand like that 8:24 a punch is landed on your chin before you can circle that arm out 8:27 ya get ur ribs hit 9:03 an average american guy isn't just gonna get knocked down like that
I am wondering about the same thing. How does he catch the fast punching arm.? He criticized other applications about impossible to catch the punching arm previously. He should explain how to catch the arm first.
@@michaeljung4398 You are not as his level, so you cannot know revery detail. Accept the fact that it is not about external applications, but internal isometrics.
try search more videos on taiji on youtube if you are really interested. e.g. iirc, adam mizner has a video with demo, with a non student on "na jin" to show if it's possible to pull back or hit back like an average american. better still, go find a good taiji teacher and try it for yourself
You would have more manipulation over your opponents energy and a much more powerful throw, if you were to brace the back of the head and tossed his head in a slamming motion with your lead hand.
@@dingosmith9932 doubled weighted in Chen and Taiji was explained to me, as basically off balance neither grounded, so you are so right his house is NOT double weighted even this senior lady knows
This guy seems like he has knowledge and skill. However, his partner acts like a limp noodle flopping around every time he gets touched by da Sifu, and that really takes away from any apps demo. Exactly the sort of thing that gives kungfu, and internal arts in particular, a bad rep.
if your teacher can't do that to you, it's not taiji's fault. fact is most taiji teachers can't send students flying. so when a few can, they look fake
@Aston Price-Lockhart Yeah, thanks. I've played uke/demo subject for plenty of teachers from different styles. I know the unwritten rules of the game and understand that relaxing as the uke is often the best way to avoid damage. There's a thin line between doing that and just flopping and purposely being less rooted and/or mobile than any person would ever allow themselves to be in a fight. This vid, IMO, crosses that line and is therefore unconvincing. Again, just my opinion, but it is a well-informed one.

@@Zz7722zZ That's good to hear. Like I said, I think the teacher has real skill, from what I can see. I'm just always interested in the teacher/uke dynamic and how it can sometimes turn valid techniques and practices into something devoid of connection to reality and therefore devoid of anything other than aesthetic appeal. Do you know if they do anything that would qualify as sparring there, even the light/no contact kind?
The orientation of his fist shows that this man is a true master.
This was really informative, thanks for taking the time to explain this in English!
A very good video indeed.
More of such videos please! Thank you so much.
-Very good explanation, thank you.
Fascinating! I learn something new each time I view this video, it seems. Thank you!
Thank you so much for doing a detailed video in English!! Respect
Very educational & detailed demonstration! Thank you for sharing!
This teacher is great
Very thorough explanation!
Pretty amazing. Thanks for the video.
great video , you have a powerfull internal body , would be posible a video about you generate this structure? thank you , waiting for more videos
Try the horse stance. That is the base of all kung fu styles...as tai chi, which is a style of kung fu as wing chung and shaolin kung fu.
Thank you much! Appreciate your videos

You are correct. This form is fighting 8 directions for multiple foes.
Awesome skill

It works both ways. That’s the thing about grappling and joint manipulation, they can be done in different directions and circumstances.
Good explanation! But the second single whip is Chen style, not Yang style anymore. The stance should be half bow and half horse.
Nice structure amd movement but the students really overplay :)
Grazie.I will follow you.
Outstanding
is that stance not a GuanDao stance ? on the horse ?
May I know where is this place?
Very enlightening.
Who did he learn from?
Thanks for this.
While I do love your form, I would be more likely to practice in this way if you started this video by cracking a walnut with three fingers.
I would like to see that too!
Who needs more than two to crack nuts ?
what park is that ?
There is a Southern Luphan Style called single whip
Actually, the two handed bow stance application of Single Whip works very well if you recognize that the application comes from turning the waist rather than the arm. The arm simply connects then the waist turns. The rest is impressive.

Ну почему все подопытные в таких сценах только и ждут повода, чтобы упасть или отлететь?
So is this the official channel of Liang De Hua?
Amazing tutoria

his english sounds like he's from thailand
He's been to Singapore a few times to conduct seminars.
Too legit
That's the problem with Taiji, everyone interprets differently on applications. Everyone thinks he has the correct interpretation.
