Great video. It looks like you have an Edge Tuner that plugs into your OBD port. Did the Edge work fine after adding the OBD pigtail for the remote start? I have an 03 Duramax and looking to add an Edge Evolution CTS3 and the MPC remote start but they of course both hook to the OBD port
I would for safety reasons. If you have the remote in your pocket and lean on it while working on the vehicle, it will start!!! Would be really bad while changing your oil!!!
I see it’s been about a year since you’ve had the remote start on. Any updates? Looking at throwing one of these on my 2013 duramax, would love your opinion so far! Thanks.
Will this system turn ur ac or heater on it’s self or no!? Also does the factory alarm still work or is that no longer in use? Or do you just use 2 remotes?
Everything factory still works the same as the factory remote, except flashing the lights when you push the buttons. I think you can do extra wiring to get as well. This is based on my 2006
Hey not sure if you would know the answer to this but I have an 07 classic duramax it was the wt model but had automatic locks. But it doesn’t have the right bcm to program a keyless entry. Do you know if this kit would still work for the remote start and possibly get me keyless entry?
You actually would not connect the wire to anything. "Not recommended" When the hood is open it grounds out and then it inhibits starting. It really is a safety thing.
I’ve been looking at this same kit… can you tell me if the lights flash the same as with the factory remote-? I.e., when it is dark outside and you unlock the doors, the DRL’s and reverse lights come on to light your way.
I have checked my connections and went threw the instructions multiple times and the bypass module light stays on after I start it and it don’t blink when I have the key turned. What should I do?
Do you have any issues when you plug a scanner into the aftermarket OBD 2 port? Does it connect and act like normal. Any issues you have with the remote start. I see the vids been posted 2yrs ago. Lmk.
I also have a work model 2500hd. Have power lock but no keyless entry on these trucks as far as I understand. Just curious if anyone knows what's involved in making them work . Sure would like that action lol thanks
I know. I just want keyless entry to work instead of sticking a key in the door . The work models didn't even come with keyless entry from new. Curious if the command start will make the power work
@@slayersun3649 Make sure all connectors are pushed in all the way, if so call their customer support. Everything is plug and play and it should work right out of the box.
@@DownNDirty_OffRoad it did work out of the box I was just dumb and didn't read it correctly. I was pushing the valet button instead of the other one. I figured it out thank you so much
My factory keyfob for my 05 works to about 100 yrds, i found the same mpc unit on Amazon and id like to get it for my truck i was just wondering how far it actually works. Its rated at 1500ft which is 300yrds.
Connecting it by the instructions as I did in the video everything worked fine, and should for you? Do you have all the plugs in the box and everything connected? Does it start OK?
@Elijah Outhenthapanya did you call them? Everything literally plugs right in. You shouldn't have to find any wires. I didn't do anything outside of the standard installation to make them work?
Looked simple enough. My wife and son got me the same kit for Christmas. Going to doing the install tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. So many questions answered ! 👍👍
Thank you, I really appreciate it!!!!
That’s a damn good looking truck bud
Thank you!!!😃
Hey man. Thanks for starting the video with the flag and anthem.
Always!!!!!
Thanks for video I think maybe I can install myself
Great video

Yes I do, and yes it did work as normal. No issues at all!!!
Thanks for the video. Do you know if this remote start cycle the glow plugs before starting or does it just start cranking?
It does.
Question, do I need to run the hood thing? I’m not concerned at all about my hood open so I was curious would it still work properly without that?
I would for safety reasons. If you have the remote in your pocket and lean on it while working on the vehicle, it will start!!! Would be really bad while changing your oil!!!
Thanks for that.
Thanks
How long is the ignition on pause before it cranks? Can you change the time for glowplugs?
It's 5 seconds from the factory setting. I believe you can change that in 5 second increments, but I didn't need to change that myself?

I just bought one.

Not sure on that one, you should call them to verify. They have a great customer service!!!!
I would love to hear what you did to make the keyless work ? Got an wt model myself . Thanks
What about the ground wire they say to install
Do you think I’d be able to install this in 2 hours without special tools? (I won’t be using the hood safely thing)
Should be able to
I got the same truck you got. Bought the mpc kit. And my instructions are no where near that detailed
Can you just ground that wire to the hood switch so you wouldnt even have to install the switch? Just ordered this same kit for my truck.
You actually would not connect the wire to anything. "Not recommended" When the hood is open it grounds out and then it inhibits starting. It really is a safety thing.
You cant groung the wire because the remotestart would not work
do you still have the truck? is the unit still working 2 years later?
Yes I do, and yes it does. Used again today to remote start!! Just change the batteries in the remote last month. Highly recommend!
If you don't mind me asking what size lift/level and tires do you have?
I just did the leveling keys in 2006 when I bought it, no lift. I have 32" KO2 BFG
@@DownNDirty_OffRoad Is there any trimming done or rubbing? Thanks.

I’ve been looking at this same kit… can you tell me if the lights flash the same as with the factory remote-? I.e., when it is dark outside and you unlock the doors, the DRL’s and reverse lights come on to light your way.
Yes they come on when dark.
Why did you extend the wire if you were gonna put the switch close to the firewall?
They only give you about 12" at the module and the switch itself. Not enough to route it there.
The module and the switch each come with a short, may 12" wire. You have to add between them for a connection.
After install are you able to use the factory remote to remote start? Maybe by pressing lock 3 times?
No
Did you find one that allows you to do that? I wanna keep my oem fob lol
No, I had seen that was a feature on other systems, but for other vehicles was hoping it had that.

There aren't any issues using the OBD port at all, works normal.
@@DownNDirty_OffRoadis there any issues with it in general? You installed this system two years ago, so have you had any issues?
How did you do the programming mine won't program it self
The instructions tell you how to using the remote and the valet button. The black box will make clicking noises as you do it.
I got this mpc remote start kit for my dmax My door locks dont work and my motor cranks but it doesn't start any help?
You should call their tech support.
How do you program the door lock?
If everything was connected and setup per the instructions they should work. Does it start from the remote? Maybe go back through the setup again?
I also have a work model 2500hd. Have power lock but no keyless entry on these trucks as far as I understand. Just curious if anyone knows what's involved in making them work . Sure would like that action lol thanks

Ok, how about the door locks? I have same device and same car but my car doesn't have door lock relays so how can i connect it? Please help me
Not sure what you are asking? I'm on vacation with limited service here for another week. I would call the company.
Where did you get those instructions from
The QR code on the box when It came. Scan it with your phone on down load it. If you contact customer service, they will email it to you.

Yes
