    Ran into your channel by accident I guess , I once was a Mobile MECP installer from 1985-2006 worked for Clifford Electronics and built a lot of custom systems in Beverly Hills for the Elite. I left the industry and got involved in Fire Protection and networks I love my Job. But it all started in the mobile industry , for you young kids there was no you tube back then . I am impressed in your attention to your wiring and the connection method you used. That by my experience is the best connection. I have trust issues on people working on my vehicles but you Sir I would happily drop them off and not watch great job, subscribed because I know workmanship when I see it.

    Great video- I had a 5906V installed and was wondering if you Hooked the alarm up to the dome light or door sensors ? I had it installed in a shop and when I lock the truck up, right after locking it says “Alert door open” remote says it for like 20 seconds and goes away. Installer says it’s the only way to do it that it will go away once the dome light turns off 😐 doesn’t seem normal and it’s annoying every time I lock the truck
    What do you think? Same truck a 04 Chevy 5.3

    • @srtbull_yt6854

      In this particular case, no, this wasn’t an alarm system. But if it were, the data module takes care of door triggers except the rear doors. The rear doors need to be hard wired to the alarm.
      Is this door open warning consistent or intermittent?

    I have a 04 suburban, I had a viper installed by a local shop and then it sat for 2 years and I recently started rebuilding the front end, and a bunch of other odds and ends to get it on the road. I noticed the dash is having shorts and flickers when I use lock and unlock, on the clicker. and the shop refuses to touch it. Is the control modules “light control modules” on the driver side of the dash supposed to light up and flicker on off when you hit the lock button? Basically any and all interior lights aside from the dome lights turn on off when the locks function from the clicker. Thanks in advance!

    Help me out here please, I have a 03 Suburban that has a Viper 5305v. Problem I been having is that sometimes I cannot start the truck with the key, (engine does not crank). Only way I can start it is with the remote start, but once I turn the key and press the brakes I get a few lights on the dash that stay on. Also it only stays in 3rd gear it seems like. When it does turn on with the key everything works fine and no lights on dash. What can I check and or how can I disable the kill switch because I’m thinking that’s what’s causing it and or the oem anti theft of the truck.

    • @srtbull_yt6854
      @srtbull_yt6854  Год назад

      I know this is an old question and I’m sure you got it figured already but not starting with the key but starting with remote start, there is something happening with your crank wire. (Most often caused by tension on the ignition harness). Or if you have starter kill installed, that relay may have failed.
      Staying in third gear, it’s actually probably 2nd gear means it’s in limp mode which is usually caused by your 2nd ignition not being powered up. (Common mistake).
      I hope that helps but I’m sure you have this fixed already. Sorry for the late reply.

    I had one of these systems installed on my 02 Silverado but when it came time to smog my truck the computer would not connect due to the obd 2 wires it had from the viper system. Is there another place to connect them to?

    • @srtbull_yt6854
      @srtbull_yt6854  Год назад

      Negative. The J1850 would be same wire no matter where you find it. So if this is true, you could just manually wire the features that you’re retaining by using that data wire. A simple passloc interface and wire tach direct to the source. Actually pretty easy.
      But you could just disconnect the data wire at obd2, do the smog test then reconnect the data wire after you pass the test.
      (Immo, that’s not the issue, but that’s where I would start)

      Does the car starter still work or has it failed?
      What is charging voltage when running?
      When idling?
      Anything else in vehicle that is aftermarket?
      There’s a ton of diagnosis you could be doing to find out. I would do a voltage draw test just at the car starter then start working my way out from there until I find the problem.

      It’ll make your life so much easier if you use one. It can be done with relays and resistors, but seriously not worth it when the interface module does all the heavy lifting.

      Hey I seen your comment about your 2002 Escalade and I have been kinda searching the Internet about installing a remote start on my 2002 Tahoe. It has factory keyless entry, would you know if it is a similar install like the 03-07 trucks like ours? I find videos on those everywhere but can't really find any on my year. Thank you

      @drewskidrankthebrewski4657 not the same as the 2003 and newer as door locks are accessible on the data network. Whereas on your 2002, you’ll have to manually wire them. If you have oem keyless entry, they’ll be positive at the power door lock relays above the gas order. Blue is lock, white is unlock. Orange is power. If my memory serves me correctly.

    Trying to install viper 4806v to a 2004 silverado. Using a different bypass module (fortin evo all) Your video is helpful. It looked like you connected the pink/black from remote start 8 pin to the accesory 2 brown wire . Is this required ? My quick reference install guide refers to that as the flex relay input. Thought I had everything hooked up correctly but viper wouldn't let me program it, led will not light up , also won't learn tach. Does the hood pin need to be grounded for programming? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

But once i got the new battery i could not turn the truck on anymore with the key or remote start( weird ) but i would reading that alarm i have is a 5105v with the D83. • @srtbull_yt6854

      @brendonramos209 determining the actual issue is going to be job one. If the starter kill relay has failed (Viper), then either replace that relay or temporarily remove it and bypass the interruption.
      Relays can fail in the open position, which would cause this result.
