I had to write this. I've been working on this system for a week on and off and was about to give up. I watched countless other videos but none really broke it down and explained each wire function and name. How you don't have a million+ views on this is beyond me. I feel like I can give it another try thanks to you. I believe my 03 ram 1500 has different color wires than listed on websites. Closest I came was a engine crank for 1 second. Another time I was able to start it but every warning light came on dash and no air conditioner compressor not activating. Time to get back to work. Much appreciated sir.
I have the exact same vehicle and I’m trying to install the same alarm. Do you have a list or diagram of where all the wires go to. I see you’ve marked the wires needed to test and the wires to connect but you didn’t go into great detail about which wire goes where. The way they label them in the instructions are…odd lol. Do some get connected to the same wire, where does the parking brake wire go, etc. Any help with that would be great! Thanks, awesome video too!
I for one solder all my connections with pure silver to NASA standards... 🤓🤓 great video man! It won’t get the love it deserves because I can only imagine the amount of time it took just to capture the b roll...
Great video. The tech notes come with the alarm kit or do I need to find them on line ? I have a Dodge ram 2022 pro master city . I have the 3051 viper alarm no keyless start it’s also has pager built into key fob
Shout out to mobile dynamics. I also graduated from there. I went on to install remote starters and accessories for a group of dealership for 10+ years. Some of this stuff makes me cringe.... but all in all I understand you dont do this everyday like I do. De-pin your extra wires. Dont cut them and leave them on. Remote starters are not meant to be taken out and put into other vehicles. Shrink wrap is not practical but I do solder all my connections.I dont understand your threaded needle technique, Ive seen it done and I find it much more bulky and annoying to deal with. If you wrap your wires tight and solder clean its not that bad...especially if you dont ziptie all your tape points which is overkill and probably wouldnt even be possible in lots of vehicles due to very little room. Also you ALWAYS need a tach. In the winter your voltage sense will not work at all and essentiall render your remote starter useless for the purpose it most likely was installed for. I guess unless you live in a hot climate and start your car for ac and not heat. Fun video though. I liked it
As an Ex-professional turned arm chair installer lol, you should have threaded the needle and soldered sheesh you newbies. 🤣🤣 Another great video. Loved the production and editing. 👍 👍
I love that you show the MECP book but that version is from the 90s. They have updated it one or two times since then with Basic, Advanced and the Master guide.
Could you tell me how to get the parking lights to work. I wired the white with amp from the RS to the green under the steering wheel and its not working. I have the same car and year.
Thank U for the video, I installed a remote start but I can get the car to start... I also have 2006 Scion xB don’t know where to hook up the White and blue wire . Need help
Hold up. DIY dude here. Thought I was sure about what cables were what but a section of your video confused me. At the beginning you stated an accessory was already hooked up, but when you went to test the accessory, you proved a different wire. Also, on the spec sheet the ignition and second ignition are reversed compared to your edit in that same spot. I’m working on a 05 xB, practically the same. Downloaded the spec sheet from the same source. Is the blue/cable not accessory? And the black vs black/yellow cable, those are not ignition/ignition 2?
I have the same car and setup but when I remote start the car runs and shuts off 3 times . Would you know what is causing this? Tachometer? Or the settings? It also cranks for at least 5 seconds before starting but I can start my car easily with the key. Would you happen to have any closer pictures of what wires are where? Everything else works! Thank you!
I have a 2002 vw Passat that a a viper remote start and it’s throwing my car in how was activated. When I mess with the wire it will start just fine. I can’t find any videos on how to un-install the remote start

Hey SparkedEd I installed it all based off your video and it worked good up until recently the batteries on my diesel died while I was out of state and I opened the door using the key and when I installed my new batteries the alarm started going off and it does not stop until after 3 cycles I tried resetting it but nothing seems to work can you help me out !
Hey great video thanks very clear and easy to understand! I need some help though, I'm trying to install a remote starter in my 2016 ram 1500. Read through wikihow and figured it's within my capabilities. The ignition switch only has 4 wires coming out of it, one constant 12V, one ground, and the other two change between 0V, 6V, 9V, and 12V as I cycle through the key positions. The wires are quite thin so I don't think I should tie into them. They must be going to some kind of control module which is where I'll have to tie into, but I'm not sure where to find this. The wires go up and group into a larger bundle which is where I get lost. Plus everything is wrapped in some kind of fabric tape really difficult to remove/cut through. Has anyone experienced this before can give me suggestions?
It's all databus. You need a digital interface like a DEI DB3 or whatever would work for your specific vehicle. I'd visit Dodge Ram forums for guidance or just get a pro shop to install as there will be a lot of programming involved.
Not gonna lie, It kinda hurts watching you abuse the poor toaster... Amazing job on the install!! I am contemplating doing this to my XB for warming up in the winter time. Have you had any problems with this remote start kit?
If someone can help me please, I have bought a car that has this alarm system on it and it's going off. Nothing I do is stopping it. I managed to find the brain of it on the dashboard. What's the best way to disable it? Just pull out all the wires in the brain?
I just drive a stick shift, literally can leave it running and I've seen ppl scout it out see the stick and walk away. To funny. Plus my car is literally my old beater. A 2005 chevy cavalier, ain't noone trying to steal that.
Asking as a professional mechanic, please do not tape and zip the fuses, place them in a proper position to not ground like a proper tech. If we need to fix something in the remote start that just makes it a pain in the ass. I really wish they would stop placing inline fuses on these units, and have their own mountable fuse box, so the alarm systems fuses are accessible, and easily identified. Also, draw a wiring diagram for your install with proper wiring diagraming software and print it to stick it in the owners manual or glove box so again if a mechanic ever has to work in the area, we have a wiring diagram to identify the aftermarket installation wires. Most mechanics HATE and won't touch cars with aftermarket alarm and remote start systems because they can lead to problems, and complicate things like no start diagnosis. These tips will help to keep mechanics from turning down vehicles with aftermarket systems.
I lost my booklet I know that i need to have door open and key on /off then press and hold transmitter button down number of chirps indicate number of times I'm to press and hold arm button down till the alarm turns on then turn key on to look in program on new remote ? Please help
This is an amazing video dude . You you think about doing a video of what happens in your car from alternator to the batteries to the amp and signal from front to back almost like an a&p of a car electrical system
We all need to do this if it doesn’t come stock on your car, but people will end up not being able to start their car, lock their doors, turn their lights on 😂 some mf’s will just hit that yellow wire for the airbags... I mean some ppl just can’t work on cars 😂
You never showed how you did your starter kill connection. Definitely should have soldered that one. Anything you cut, anything mux, anything underhood or in door, anything data should be soldered. Also, hide your siren, way too easy to cut right there.
Also the reason your door locks weren't testing is because you were tagging the wires for the key switch on the outside of the door, not the switch on the inside
Ahh yeah I didn't film the starter wire, but there is no need to solder as I stated. If you do, that's fine too, but with a double knot it will never come undone. I can hang my body weight on the connection and have it hold firm.
at 24:36 in the vid you can see when I do it to the siren wire. it's not a close up though. It's twisting wire ends together in a double knot. the knot gets tighter if you were to try to pull the wires apart.
Ah I see. I work at Viper (Directed), if it's one connection that's very important to do correctly it's the starter wire. If that connection fails you cant start your vehicle.
i have had a remote start on my shelf in my basement since last summer got it for 20 bucks from my stereo shop buddy... Reason I did not INSTALL cause my car is 6spd MANUAL 2010 AUDI S4... What extra steps or how do I install REMOTE START for MANUAL OR STICK SHIFT, CLUTCH VEHICLE... Also my AUDI has Factory Alarm does this affect this?? Ty in Advance ANYONE
German cars are tricky, especially with the bypass systems. Viper systems have a factory alarm disarm wire and your tech sheet should help you find the wire in the car. I have done a few stick shift cars, but it's not always advisable. You may need to use external relays for a clutch bypass. Viper does have a parking brake wire. There used to be a neutral safety switch on the market, but I haven't seen it in years.
@@SparkedEd if I would have known all this shit before I would have never bought this car... It seems like even mechanical work on the engine turbo everyone is running from it... Wtf
Audis and other german cars are great cars. They just are not meant to tinker with too much. Some modern german cars require a key reader and you have to wrap a coil around the key cylinder to make them remote start. The push to start models require an interface with firmware you can download from the manufacturer. Audiovox makes good units for these too. I personally wouldnt touch these cars without tech support to back me up with programming.

Did he use a bypass module for the remote starter?
No need for these toasters! No Chipped keys.
