another super neat feature is if u drive to the gas station and its cold and u dont want the car to turn off but want it to stay started when you pull out the keys. with compustar if you remote start it while the car is running it will stay started when you pull the key out so you can lock it and walk away. Saved me a few mornings when it was -20 outside and only wanted coffee XD

My car has a aftermarket remote start I bought the car used and it came with it. Whoever installed it did an okay job my ignition is on the dash not on the steering column so I just peaked behind the dash laying on the floor and the module is tucked up behind the radio and hvac controls and I’m impressed it was done good enough. The options I have are I’m able to lock three doors with one press and lock all doors with two presses. Unlock just unlocks driver door second press unlock all doors. If you hold the trunk button in for 3 seconds it pops the trunk. Lights flash with every press of a button no horn sounds when locking or unlocking thank god that’s annoying just lights flash to tell you it’s locked or unlocked. The engine start works the same hold the button until lights flash lights then go out engine starts lights flash again once started. It’ll run about 10 minutes and shut off if no key is put into the ignition. Car will flash a blue light up by the receiver antenna if you press the brake with engine running without key in the ignition car will shut off. When car is started using the remote the doors stay locked which I prefer.
Wow Matt , I bought an 05’ Z71 in the same color recently ...I have pewter interior and you have tan tho.. It needed some serious cleaning and some shocks/ bushings but overall it’s shaping up very nicely. I’m looking for wheels/ tires now and will probably cover several of the things you did to yours. Radio, seats etc.. Thanks for the ideas👍. BTW, You’re lucky that your bumpers aren’t rusty. Most 2000-2006 Z71’s I see here in NY , including mine, are flaking off and rusty. I’ll be switching mine come warmer weather.

The thing that I hated so far when installing the compustar system is that it does not say I have to install the tach wire, even though I need it. I went to program the module and it blinked 3 times meaning no tach signal. So since there is no tach input on the harness for the gauge cluster I have to find a way to run that purple/white with a gray dot or whatever the color is to the ignition coil harness

Previous owner said something about that if button gets bumped/pushed it could be the issue. Is this button an on off button or does the button change some sort of settings. Can’t find info on this anywhere
I installed one now it starts but dies with remote start. Key it runs fine.. wish you would’ve went threw the process to finish program in it to make the past lock work

The drone start from cell phone option is a separate module you have to buy and there's a monthly subscription for the cell service.
