This is one reason why I love this guy’s channel. I feel like us every day garage car guys get our time to shine with him. He doesn’t only do million dollar cars or 200-$300,000 cars. He does everybody. And when I’m done with my truck, I am hitting him up because that is one of my goals is to be on his channel.

I gotta 454 vortec motor. All done up like this, with a fuel injection carb look a like. I love that thing, I put 3500 stall and turbo 400. 3.73 rear gears. Big block power is undeniable

I like when I see perfect cars when every detail is touched without any expense being saved… BUT cars are meant to be driven and this an excellent example of what hot rodding is REALLY all about. Just drive em make them pretty enough to your liking and just enjoy them. Who cares if they get a bit dirty and some rubber on the fenders.
I learned to love yelow headlight on this channel. Next; Why I have to run a piece of tape over my headlights, not to sprinkle glass all over the place! Man I love these guys! They are more cool that space itself!
I just love this El Camino I used to have a 69 did a frame up resto on but unfortunately never finished it and had to sell it I really want to get another one especially after seeing this I've always wanted one but this is just a push to get looking so I can start building!!!
Gotta love a big block Elco🤙 Sick build. Best part is, it's actually somewhat affordable and obtainable for the average gear head. Simple formula, big block, with some good heads, the right pistons, right cam and a decent carb will make silly power without breaking the bank. Let er eat sir👍🦅🇺🇸
Deon mad respect from Arkansas. I got that same philosophy build a monster you don’t need 30k in paint in case it ends upside down in a ditch. Build it fast learn to drive it make it fast enough if that is a thing then make it pretty. If it needs wheelie bars and a chute before it needs cosmetics that’s about right
Suggesting looming for the wires cable tied to sheet metal with edges. The insulation will get cut through with vibration over time. And suggesting moving the wiring to a fixed position instead of the control arm that rotates.
@@bigdeon211 M and H makes some real nice wiring harnesses for these cars. They can do the engine harness custom for you isnt a ton of $. Good quality everything is plug n play love it.
Cool car and cool owner. Doesn't have an SS dashboard so probably just a regular Elco but who cares? It's bad ass as is. I have a '71 SS 454, built T400, 3.19 geared 12 bolt posi. Decent paint and nice interior. A bit milder than Deon's car but it's a great run around car. Not so nice that I have to worry about it but nice enough to get looks and comments. This video makes me want to bump up the power a little though. I know you usually feature more big dollar cars but I think a lot of us regular guys would like to see more cars like this one.

Besides this being a great car. Built xtra xtra HEAVY DUTY. Moving forward. This guy is about as cool and down to earth as they get. But one of my biggest takeaways is, while the engine and drive train parts aren't cheap. This is definitely a super low dollar project compared to most of the other Autotopia videos. Or most other cars or builds with this type of horsepower, toque and overall performance. That's one HUGE SMALL BLOCK 😂😂 Drive it on the street, don't worry about a scratch or two or three. No crazy chassis modifications. It's a good old Chevy full frame car. Naturally aspirated, no turbo, twin turbo or supercharger. Just good old xtra high compression, monster cam, proper exhaust. Simple formula. Not even a nitrous bottle. The way the motor is built he could easily get more power. But what's the sense 🤔 Great job Deon and another great video by Shawn
I love this episode. Deon was so funny and nice. I love how he could take a joke. My favorite part is he’s not like me. I really just want a fun driver then I start going crazy with my build. I care way too much about what others might say.

@@KingJT80 On an engine like this it would be a bit soggy with a much smaller converter. A good quality converter like his can be street driven all the time.
@@gordocarbo it would be the opposite. It would be pretty tight for that big of a camshaft. Almost might have to hold the brakes at a light . If it can flash to 5000 that big block must be able to turn at least 7500 I would think

its got a ton of compression and a pretty big cam. but 3000-3500 built for the street is where its at
