I'm sure the same was said about small block chevys. You saw them everywhere and in everything. The LS is a great foundation and awesome engine. Not sure why people hate them.
I LOVE this build. This is pretty much exactly what I would do in a build like this. It'll haul the groceries but you're not held hostage by a high dollar paint job. Save your money for the things that matter!
Finally. A man who builds a real legit old school style truck . Ya ya I know , short beds were the shit . But not everyone wanted or could use a SWB C10. But the real Big Block trucks were LWB . Kick ass man 🤙👏😎

This truck resonates with me because its something that the average joe who doesn't have a 7 figure income can build in their home garage. I think the rust gives it character.
That crash video is why I've got a roll bar and harnesses in the to do list for my Camaro. I know it's a bit controversial and disappointing on a lot of levels that the crash video happened at all but it's definitely motivating me and apparently others to take it seriously.
Thanks for doing a car that didn’t cost a half million dollars to build. Love seeing those, but it’s nice to see something that is attainable as well. Keep it up.
That is one nasty truck. I learned how to drive in my Dad's '68 C10 back in the early '70's. It was gold with white cab and white pinstripes with the outer part of the grill also white. Had the black and chrome Chevy hubcaps with the red bowtie in the center. And, the 307. Yes, my buddy outran me with his Mustang, but it was still a thrill for me to drive my Dad's truck to school, even though it seemed like everyone else was driving muscle cars. Great memories. Wish I could find another one today!
N/A big block, carbureted with a stick!! That's has to be a riot to drive. Love seeing these trucks in their factory uniform with modified guts. My SBC square body shares the same stock look, but is about 400hp less than this one. Nice rig, very nice
When i was a teenager in the 90s my grandfather had a 72 short bed that was perfect and was a cool orange copper color. I remember he bought another truck just cause it had a built motor in it so he swapped and sold the other one. That 72 was nasty as hell but he only drove it when we pulled the bass boat lol 😆. It just sat there in the driveway looking killer but hardly drove it except maybe to the store down the street and back. I would love to have that truck today but he sold it and i never seen it again still to this day. This brings back good memories of him taken me rides in that and getting down on it for some fun. Awesome episode
Lots of muscle cars, in many cities, but not a lot of muscle trucks. My boss who is totally a hemi guy is just starting on a muscle truck. What cannot wait to see it finished.
Had a 71 short bed pumpkin seed yellow and white 2 tone 1 owner ...in the 90s when I was in high school spent every dollar I could get building engine and trans ...by senior year had a 10 : 1 355 with 292 heads Victor Jr. Intake 3500 daco stall 456 gears 12 bolt with 15 ×10 welds on all 4 corners 275 65 15s ......it was a ton of fun red light to red light
This pickup reminds me of Stacey David's Copperhead. He pretty much did something very similar and he used a 572. One of the very first ones ever built. Man that truck was a monster too!!
I was gonna say that thing looks really damn familiar. Then he said its from my state. Yep, i knew id seen that thing around once or twice. Had no clue it was that much of a beast though! Hell yeah!
A square body truck is where its at!! also LOVE the long bed. Ive done shortbeds my whole life, but am regretting not getting a long bed for my latest truck 21 Ram 1500
This is my favorite truck of all time. My ex neighbor growing up had a Bitchin 71. Red color. Beautiful bed like this one. This one is of course nicer. Bitchin Mr. Shaun. ❤💜🧡💙😝😎
I had a TKO 5 IN my 68 Camaro with 4.56 gears it was extreme shifting gears fun as fck. I went to 3.70 though cause I wanted to drive it on highway. That's a nice truck I got excited watching this video.
I had a 71 short bed in high school. Me and the old man built a 355 for it and it originally had a Saginaw 4spd but swapped it for a Muncy 4spd. Gapped countless 5.0 mustangs. That 355 would run.
Livin' proof that long beds are COOL!!!! Just bought a '67 longbed that's getting a big block 4 speed conversion....
Right! With big power you want that extra wheelbase for control too.
I personally have always thought the long box looks better.
Long bed is way cooler..lowered with 15inch fat tires
finally something that isn't LS swapped lol
800 hp naturally aspirated! No ecm no boost no nada, but big block Chevy huevos. 💪😁

You had me at big block and manual
N/A built big block fun!
nothing is badder than a BIG POWER big block and a manual trans
Totally agree
Facts. I run a 70 Chevelle 496 685 HP 660 tq. I also run a tkx.

do fix the rust though or get tetanus shots hahaha
I dont let paint keep me from enjoying mine. It doesnt know if its primered or painted
This one rips! Crazy motor… real street car. Body isn’t 100. Working man’s rippah

The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character.
The huge cowl on this truck looks awesome
Yep and it’s required for that intake
That was the first thing I noticed was the gauge up under the raised part. That is so bad ass.
Ive always liked the long beds over the short beds. Badass truck

I bet he’s got $ 100,000 or more in that truck

"Farmtruck" energy!❤👍
That’s my style exactly ! Big blocks, weld draglights, and a killer year c10!

I love that truck, I plan to have one just like it when I get older, I’m just 64.
You'll get one someday young man! If you want it bad enough, you WILL make it happen!
Cool truck, like how it's not a trailer queen. Owner isn't afraid to open it up which is awesome in my opinion. Built to drive and have fun.
I like that he put the harnesses in. I would want to wrap the pipes with foam. It wouldn't be good to get an accident and hit your head on the bar.
Enough torque to knock the rust off! 🔥✔️👍
Thats right a full size and theres no replacement for displacement! Beautiful truck budz !

DAMN.!!!!!that truck is awesome !!!!! I couldn't close my mouth...I was shocked...that truck is almost perfect..it just needs A/C ..

My father had a 70 c10 the rear suspension is like the 70,s version Nascar trailing arms so it hooks
A real man real hot rod. I’m the same way. I drive mine to work 33 years and counting. Now I need to fix it,but I’m going back the same!!

And time - $$$ 😂
Soo worth it ! C-10
My 1967 , just rusted sooo bad I I I was goofed ! 😢.
🤣
Appropriate ride for a dude with popeye forearms
He should build a company and call it Popeye Performance!
Most mechanics that actually turn wrenches got big forearms.
Even though I’m a MOPAR GUY I’ll take a big block Chevy c10 manual transmission long bed any day over a import just my opinion
no wonder dude got arms. its manual everything hahaha
havent seen shawn this giddy in a while.. 😁
I really enjoyed this one!
I enjoy watching videos of builds like this truck as much as the high end builds. Keep em coming!
Lots of muscle cars, in many cities, but not a lot of muscle trucks. My boss who is totally a hemi guy is just starting on a muscle truck. What cannot wait to see it finished.
When I watch these, I experience 2 days and nights full of peace and happiness
Sick! Awesome! That's a perfect combination, classic truck in pristine condition, big block... what else!
Just picked up a 1967 c20, this is inspiration! Thanks!

Thank you
It’s funny that people have taken inspiration from the crash video because I have to I now want to put a roll bar and harnesses in my car
I’m glad people learned from our mistakes. That was why we made the video.

I like his truck. I have a 1970 Chevy C10 Hugger Orange and Black . Love this one. Mine not fast like his. Keep it.
My favorite truck body style. I love everything about it. He done a amazing job on it. Difenly a beast of a truck.
Nasty Farm Truck!
Kick ass truck....
I had the same truck. 68 , 307 and 3 on the tree. Put it on the floor and had alot of fun with it as a Kid.
A real engine! Gasp!
Not the exact build but same HP numbers I'm building for! This is inspiring for sure. Set up, the look, exactly what Ive had in my head.

Shout-out to a fellow ACC dude! I see that front vanity plate 🇺🇲🫡
I saw that also. I was ACC as well. Hellz yeah!
Thats badass!!! Like how he put the gauges in the cowl hood!! 🔥
One of the most 'American blue collar' trucks which has been on this channel, we don't get these in the UK, and it's super cool.
Even though it's a different breed, this makes a 71 year old kid pine for his ole 51 F1 that I had built myself
His bore of 4.625 and stroke of 4.25 comes out to 571 cubic inches. I myself, like the look of the long bed over the short.
I had a TKO 5 IN my 68 Camaro with 4.56 gears it was extreme shifting gears fun as fck. I went to 3.70 though cause I wanted to drive it on highway. That's a nice truck I got excited watching this video.
Dig the build, basic, $ spent in the right places does the job real well
Nothing funner than a BB and a manual. Insane amount of torque!
This Chevy is Hank Williams Jr. "All My Rowdy Friends". Rock on AutotopiaLA
Crazy about the old school Chevy small and big blocks.
Underhood gauges looks amazing. Great old school truck with big block. Graet episode. Greetings
The external gauges, nice. Perfect for Northern Ireland roads.
Beautiful C10, had me a 71 Cheyenne back b4 I got kids, miss that thang, great vid🤘
What a truck , this is my style of ride.
That’s it I gotta finish my c10 before next summer
Farm trucks brother. Nice ride my friend. Thanks fir sharing. I love this channel. Always something great

He has literally built the same exact truck as mine except mine is a small block with a Muncie and mine is black I love it now I need a big block
Very nice I like the originality of the build with the stock components awesome god bless America 🇺🇸💪🏼🦅
Same...dont need custom chassis most the time .
This handles the power just fine.

That’s a BEAST!!!!

16:51 thought would jump over that like COLT ;-)) badass truck!
A killer truck, that 572 is Demonic sounding!
“Rough and Rowdy” …..that sums it up but add Enjoyable 😊
It needs to be in a movie.
Badass truck I always loved that bright orange color

What you're going for in that truck is bad ass! Id have to put a couple rocker plates in it though.

MPG or GPM? LOL!!!
