RTV silicone gasket maker should be used on the side of the gasket that faces the part that is removable, if you want to or need to seal the other side of the gasket then Aviation Gasket Sealant is very good, you'll never go back, assuming you don't have chunks of gasket missing or something like that, the stuff is a dream for oil pumps, it seals well and wipes right off. Just some advise in case anyone can use it.
Southern California wildfires are very fast moving but extremely hot burning. I have seen an entire forest of old growth brush with everything 1/2" diameter or less burned away and everything else still standing, dead but in perfect condition. An almost haunting look.
I saw the title and all the smoke from the tires at the beginning (with volume muted) and seriously thought y'all had a brisket goin in the trunk. Now I'm hungry.
id love to see everything about that car restored,as long as the patina didnt change..(outside of a clear coat)...bushings and suspension ,QA1,electrical , lights and dash...it would be sooooo unique
I own a 210k miles 2000 dodge ram and a few of my buddies tell me its gutless, my response is its a quad cab long bed 1500 automatic 46RE overdrive 4x4 transmission and transfer case truck with a magnum 318 in it and factory 3.55 locker rear and Will in fact lay down rubber from both rear tires up to 25miles per hour has a great working factory transmission in it and I don't want to break it especially when the previous owner put in a new front pump input shaft seal and torque converter and it shifts right into reverse and starts backing up, and immediately started moving when shifting into drive as well...
I just want to walk around Steve's farm/ranch/Mopar storehouse for a few weeks... until he gives me one of his old Dodges just to get rid of me. OR gives me a job.
whats the proper name of that adjuster thing yall strapped the boat tank on with?I need some of those and i dont know the exact name of them. Can anybody please tell me?
IF I had 20% their knowhow on fixing cars, i would love to find old beaters and making hot rods. If i could win a lottery or retire early i would goto community college or something for engine stuff, growing up my friends were motor heads but i couldnt get what they were doing, i wound up getting into paint and body and still doing it 30yr later.
work to your strengths and get other people who have other strengths to build stuff..........offer paint/body for an engine or random parts for a project.i recently did a cam swap, heads(rebuilt them myself)intake, headers, painted the whole engine bay etc,new rear end, interior etc and i never did anything to cars before.youtube is a wealth of knowledge and you dont make an omlette without breaking some eggs.....so yeah,i knew nothing but wanted to build something,so i just did it........it aint a showcar and i dont car,it will roast the tires,go sideways around corners and is fun
the metal of the body is not able to be restored after a fire. early in the video, they talk about the metal becoming soft. after a fire and a slow cooling process, it loses its "temper," meaning the "strength" of the metal. you could make it LOOK nice, but all of the strength of the metal is gone and it would be unsafe to drive unless it had a tube chassis welded in to hold it rigid.
Stripped race car makes lots of sense. This is a wonderful build. I love these two guys.
I think they should do more work on it.
Its only the last ride for him, he'll sell it and someone will probably fix it or turn it into a race car
@@FrankBullitt390 Yes Frank, that could make it an iconic vintage race car.
