What's your favorite moment from this rebuild?
Not one thing in particular unless it was the first drive on the puck clutch. The entire episode was great.
I love to see is face when he bang the gears LOL 😂
@@martingagne367 beat me to it. The look on Dulcich's face when he shifts gears is a sight to behold.
Hearing the raw roaring power unleashed as Dulcich lays down that long burn strip near the end. That V-8 sound can't be beat!
This whole episode
Steve's facial expressions while banging gears are Classic. He's the Mad Shifter!!!!😊
Race face
The Mad Shifter has to get in the zone 😁
He has a face that reminds me of Snape from the Harry Potter films. Angry! :D
I was just going to say that he looks like a mad scientist when he shifting, a true madman.........
Groundhog day "don't drive angry "😅
For a true car guy there is nothing more fun than Road Kill.
What about banging your hand when using a rachet when it's cold out 😣
@@sleepypanda4422 no! That’s not my idea of fun.
@@patbullard9276 there was when you didn’t have to pay for it
Dulcich is the man !
If only they would open it back up to international subscribers.
Uncle Dulcich is a real badass mechanic!!
That's because he breaks everything he gets behind the wheel of.
Yes he is!
@@Rick-O-Shay60hey kind of all do lol. First it was all Finnegan’s fault, then Dulcich did-it, then Tonybrokeit. With TA gone now i guess it’s up to Dulcich to break everything again. At least until they find some other idiot FNG to blame everything on lol
@@CivilizedWarrior I wouldn't let Dulcich even drive my lawnmower. That dude beats the snot out of anything he gets his hands on.
... and it ends up broken.
haha Dulcich's face when he's beating the snot out of something never gets old
It's the anger in the beast.
My dad had one of these, I loved how the headlights covers retracted and gave a seamless grille when not in use. The luxury muscle car of its time.
Same I'm 42 my Dad had a 68 with 3 speed auto. 1982-2012. The headlights/ grill is the greatest of all muscle cars
Don't forget the sequential blinkers.
You know what’s crazy, these two guys can work on just about anything. The always keep it real just like a regular guy would do in his garage at home. That’s what I enjoy about this show.
I know man, other shows are like “oh yeah, you should be able to swap an AWD twin turbo LS drivetrain into your 1950 GMC in 3 days in your home garage,” meanwhile they have a two post lift, a plasma cutter, mig, tig, and stick welders, a CNC machine, presses, sheet metal brakes, a team of dudes, and a $50,000 pile o’ parts on a pallet on the floor. Definitely, super relatable. It’s super easy, all you have to do is order everything out of a catalog, gee why didn’t I think of that? I can’t even watch that kind of garbage anymore, I just end up getting pissed when the parts theyre throwing out in the dumpster are better than what I’m working with lol.
the face on Dulcich when shifting ....... man on a mission
A man on the road to destruction... That grimace is frightening...
He's the Shift Assassin
oh he's on a mission... to break something.
Using the cutting torch in shorts and flip-flops ... classic Dulcich
True cali casual catastrophe waiting to happen !
To keep that pan from leaking, take a small chisel & make a continuous line from one end to the other in pan along that seal. This will make a ridge in the pan. No more leak guaranteed. Works on trans pans too.
"Dude, that is 9" of absolute beef!!"😂😂
I have wanted a '67-68 Cougar for many, many years. I absolutely love them.
Was always a 69 Cougar fan which is what I had in Highschool in 82, but the first gen is growing on me! Great episode! 😊
I miss my '67 Cougar. Bought it for $50 from my Aunt's boyfriend because he blew the engine up and was frustrated with it. Lots of memories in that car.
I wish i could afford to buy another 68 Cougar. The most fun I've ever had driving was in my 68.
Love you guys for having one on your show.
You guys are sure hard on equipment...
Absolutely love that Cougar
The patina is awesome with all that goodness underneath
The fact that they were able to destroy that toploader is almost as impressive as it is surprising.
I love Cougars too, and the cars aren't bad either.
Dulcich is a mad man! 💪
Love cougars and have had 8 of them over the years. Very unique fun car. Still have a few parts left from my collection.
Dulcich is a real mechanic, he wasn't happy with the failing clutch rebuild or the hack fix on the seal. result? Hard work and dedication and then lets do it right! Love these guys. In the coil spring thing I once had the front coil spring from and old Triumph leave the building through a roof light, clean throigh a corrugated plastic roof above my head.
Still and always will be a 68/69 Torino Fastback guy but in the FoMoCo line the early Cougars are a very close second. Also, always great to see another older guy banging the gears like the term is meant. (In my case these days) No lower left leg? Clutch pedal? STILL not a problem! Fumble the clutch for first and reverse, no need for it beyond those.
Thats badass!! Keep on keeping on brother
In 1968 a family member bought a new Cougar, 390 4spd. I remember leaving my house with my Cousin Glenn, both of us facing backwards in the backseat. Crazy Alvin painted the street with Positive Traction Burnouts down the street. I was 5 yrs old in kindergarten at T.C. Miller school, Lynchburg Virginia. Mom NEVER let me ride in that Cougar again.😐🤔😳😂
Best episode in 5 seasons. Cool stuff. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
My next car will get named 'Road 148' - maybe I am thinking Jaguar of England this time.
You two KICK-AZZ. Ive loved RK from day one. Keep up the thrashing
Great job on the R&D work. Beat it till
It Breaks. That will sure show the flaws. Cool how the parts went way farther up the food chain.
The last parts will take some real abuse. Makes the old Cougar look worth fixing all of it.
Years ago we bombed all over Seattle in a silver green 68 Cougar. What a cool ride! Gotta find
another some day. Good to see you guys still at it!
I love the fact that not only did Dulcich repair all that was needed and upgraded everything from mounting plate back and suspension but he also replaced the destroyed headliner. Outstanding, now can reliably put the power to the road and also stop and handle better than it ever did, with a new headliner.
Dulcich cracks me up. We need Dulcich merch!!!
When I hear bang shift, I think of shifting without the clutch after taking off from a stop, and any gear going up through the gears is simply shifted without ever touching the clutch pedal.
That's bang shifting from when I use to race.
right.. i was thinking they were bitchshifting as well
GREAT VIDEO STEVE AND DAVID!!!! I LOVE THE UPGRADES!!!! BANG SHIFT COUGER IS NOW BADASS COUGER!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME BUILD!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!
dulcich's family owning several 100 acres of cali vineyards is a real bonus for footage and also helps the budget of these projects
It is always a treat to watch you guys work.
For me there is car shows and there is the Freyburger, Dulcich Road Kill Garage show. I really enjoy the high paced, information packed and action jam that videos like this bring . Almost as much as the full length versions with these, purpose born & bred fellas delivering a formula from characters who entertain with enthusiasm every, single time they come to the action all motorheads are watching for.....right here. Thanks lads! That Cougar is CrAzY mad.
As the name implies, I am a Cougar owner. The J-Code was my first Cougar, I currently own a 68 F-Code with AFR heads, HEI distributor and FiTech fuel injection. Currently saving up for a duel exhaust system from West Coast Classic Cougar. It will be so nice to get her back on the road.
My mom got tboned by a semi in my dads 67 black on black 4 speed. I now have my grampas big ole 78 cougar for a gentle cruiser.
I'm 67 and the second owner of a 67 cougar for 46 years, 347 storker, four speed,4 wheel disc electric Head lights, 7x8 wheels, north California
You guys are solid car guys. Awesome show!
Amazing show thanks for the awesome content.
That's go content right there all you need is a unlimited budget
Dulcich in beast mode!
The 363 sounds so legit!
And the Cougar makes a great home for it.
Excellent combination in Ford’s other pony car.
Bangshift Cougar episodes are the best
Awesome episode. Love watching you guys do this stuff.👌
That car is a beautiful brute. The roasted paint is dreamy. Great wheel & tire choice too! Thanks for the fun video!
Love the ole Cougars ,, truly doesn't get enough love from the car community.
Mr. Dulcich is a master of the manual trans!!!! Luv it!!!
I'm a COUGAR guy now.
Stacey David on GEARS did one complete but yours is my favorite
I love the steve n wylie interactions...more please
How do these guys not have a hoist by now?!
Have 2 1967 XR7s and I’m happy to see content on them
You guys have tooooo much fun , i love it
Love the Cougar. Back in the '80s when I was in high school a friend of mine had a black '69 cougar which I always liked So this episode was fun for me
Thats such a cool car, old cougars have always been one of my favorites!!
Your show just pastes a smile on my face.
This show changed my life. I’ve taken on numerous project cars and got them running and driving and sometimes performing really well. Thank you guys so much. Invaluable teachings on these shows!!!
Absolutely love that car
Love the Bang-Shift Cougar!
Definitely my favorite Road kill Garage car! Thing is nasty!!
More bang for your buck!!😎 Dulcich looks mad when he shifts!😂😂😂 but cool- calm- collect..
I love that Cougar SO much.
I loved my 67, Great car!
Dulcich is a sledgehammer behind the wheel
She’s a beauty… perfect stance and wheels.
I love the Disgustang but I think I might like the Bang Shift Cougar even better!
Really great video . Oxnard California.
You guys have done videos in Camarillo California
Dulcich was swattin' flies in that cougar comin out sideways!
Steve and Wiley's realtionship is what i'd like to see more of, lol.
Steve is a complete beast when it's time to rock n roll.
@10:39, there's a story in how that case cracked. looks like something was wedged between the countershaft teeth and the case. Zooming on those teeth reveals extreme wear? on the teeth themselves..It's also the side of the box that has the selector forks and a few grub screws. These gearboxes are usually very, very tough gearboxes. The primitive nature of the shifters whether hurst, oem etc makes them so much fun, mine has a home made shift handle comprising a 14 inch length of steel with a 5 inch wide piece of 1.5 diameter pipe as a gearknob on top of a hurst shifter.
We need from the crusher camaro and muscle truck AND crop duster and crusher impala
If I remember correctly they sold the muscle truck
I’ve said it before, and Ill say it again, Steve is the man!
Honestly.... I really want a built up Cleveland back in this car. With CHI heads and everything and 600+ hp N/A
Not really a Ford Guy but I been around Long enough that brand loyalty doesn't matter as much anymore cool Is cool no matter The make still Mopar at heart but that cougar Is kickass
I want that Cougar!!!
The '67 Cougar is one of the best looking cars of my era. The styling was superior to the Mustang!
I love that high rpm 360!!
My all time fav 67
That cars is freaking awesome!
Beautiful garbage. I'd love to own such a thing myself. Well done, Steve - a solo four-day thrash that fixes all the issues is a damned impressive act.
Dulcich is a legend 🔥👊
The Predator hand clasp and flex...legendary
Dulcitch saves the day once again!!
Wow...that stroked 302 took those HARD over Rev to valve floats like a champ...if I remember correctly the 363 pistons have really short skirts and a lot of people stay away from them...if that's true the skirt length must not be super important in the 302 since theirs hasn't flipped a piston sideways in the bore...the way dulchich didn't react to those over rev's and calmly said that was valve float tells me he's done it to that motor many times and knew it probably would take it fine lol 🤣. I've always been curious what kind of numbers you could get from an aftermarket block stroker 363 before failure...I know that the stock blocks are a major weak point around 500 550 wheel torque...but always wondered what an aftermarket block with a good quality forged rotating assembly, good heads cam intake and boost could reach before failure...and if you are still reading and interested in such Ford things...there are some guys on RUclips turning 03-04 cobra heads into 5 cyl versions to bolt onto a V10 truck motor...they aren't there yet but have gotten pretty far and I can't wait to see the results... imagine a V10 04 cobra 4 valve with boost...
That V10 3 cam will be AWESOME !!
@@arkhsm they also did a video where they removed the balance shaft from a V10 and drove it on a long trip to show it won't destroy itself...any company that CNC cuts heads for 03 04 cobras that doesn't design a 5cyl version for Ford V10 is going to miss out...there probably a lot of V10 truck motors out there cheap
Dulcich is literally Motortrends secret weapon. Dood is just a wonderful human being.
Now this is what we need more of
Those big windsors sure don’t like clutches …
I’ve had similar problems
Then the gearbox let go ?
You guys are tough on gear !!!
Great episode guys
I am waiting for a new season of Roadkill Garage, which is my favorite show of all time :-)
What a legend
love that old guys expressionless face and head to the side as he's driving intensely
Liked it at the handshake part lmao😊😂❤ it
Dulcich stepping in and fixing the Cougar for another awesome Roadkill experience!!
Dulsich can sure build a car. He is a Motorhead's savant
Love that car
Dolsich..exuse my spelling is a master mechanic,MacGyver with wrenches, great team
I really like those toploader transmissions. They aren't the absolute smoothest shifting I've ever used, but they are consistently good no matter what application I've seen them in and they don't seem to mind high RPM shifts either.
Dulcich the legend
Now that is how you drive it!!!
Dulcich is an animal!
Dulcich...I'm not worthy to even watch...I'm in awe 👍
Wow, look at that transmission damage. I broke a Saginaw 4 speed down the middle once!
