Whatever you're going through rick , just please know that alot of us are struggling and look to you to enlighten our day . Just lost my wife and kids to alcoholism and I'm at rock bottom . You've been a great light to the world ! Do what's best for either way we all have love for you !!
Go to a meeting, pick up the phone and call a friend, go to outpatient treatment. You already admit you are at your rock bottom, so time to take action and do something about it. You got this. First for you, that way you can be there for your kids in the future before it is too late.
i crushed 2 families due to my same issue. so worse has been done. by the grace of a god i was afraid to believe in, i have 132 months sober and have built the castle back up since. that is quite a few moons if you are doing the math... i promise you, i was way more of a trainwreck than whatever you have done. no pissing contest. if a knucklehead like me could ask for the willingness to get it together, you definitely can. and you will.
As someone who had a heart attack at age 39, I totally had to change my lifestyle. I am happy that he has decided to better himself. I say he will lose 18lbs in the 1st month. You got this!!!!
Rick, you are too young to be in that situation. Get healthy (mentally, socially, and physically). Remember this is all "For my Son!". You have a great family and Team at the store. Empower and trust them to take up the slack. Thanks for all the great videos and making the best video game store ever.
You got this, Rick! I had to restart my own weight loss journey back in October because if I didn't, I was going to be in some serious trouble. High blood pressure, A1C was bad, and my knees are absolute trash and need to be replaced. I'm the primary caregiver for our son... I need to stick around as long as I can for him. Since I started, I'm down 37 lbs. I've started physical therapy to regain my range of motion that I lost in my knees. I got a ways to go (need to lose 90 more lbs), but I've done this before my son came along (last go round was 77 lbs lost ), I can do it again. I just needed to learn how to do so differently with my knees in as bad a shape as they are and less time on my hands. If I can do this, you can too. Something that really kicked my behind in gear the 1st time was something my Pastor said. He told us every time we mistreat our bodies by continuing to eat unhealthy, not exercise, etc..we are vandalizing a holy temple of God. It's a very sobering thought. Will be keeping you in my prayers!
Way to go Ricky! I'm happy for your transparency, your aspirations and goals. We are here with you. We all fluctuate in weight. Sometimes we have to just put it out there so we can be held accountable. Great series coming. Your going to help more people by doing this for yourself. GOD BLESS YOUR JOURNEY.
Man, I felt all that. I know all that wears on you. I'm getting on a diet and exercise as of tomorrow. I was already planning to. I eat like a horse. Good luck on your training! It's gonna make this year a lot better. You know as we get up there in age, it gets scary. I've had good friends pass away these last few years and it can be a real wakeup call along with just being tragic.
I've lost about 180 lbs in the last year and a half. I was over 400 lbs at one point. I manage an old school cigar shop in NW Louisiana. I basically get paid to hang out with old guys and smoke cigars all day long. So not much moving around here! Also, being in this state, we love to eat!! Between this job and my eBay store, I am always on the go. But I completely changed my diet, got a little more active, and my blubber started melting off of me like butter. But I believe in you!! I bet you'll lose at least 12 lbs in your first month. You rock! Remember that until you hit your weight goal, never stop losing!
You’re a king Rick and don’t you forget it. I wish you all the best. It’s a marathon not a race to get the weight off. I wish I could give you advice and stir you in the right direction. Trust me it’s possible to get jacked and still play all the vids!
Retro Gheto's great, a very good UK video game and toy collector RUclipsr. Glad to see some shoutouts for UK RUclipsrs on American channels. Big fan of yourself, Game Chasers, Metal Jesus Rocks, Renebean, Gamer Manuel and others. Hope you and your family are well, the game store looks awesome!
I just wanna say good luck. I'm in the same boat. 5 years ago I was in decent shape. Now my knees are gone, I have to lose weight abs work on my Cardo. I know I have a long road ahead of me but I guess do it. So you got this!!!!!!
Bro been there done that. I gained 30 lbs after having a high stress job and once i finally changed habits, lost it all and have been able to maintain the weight loss. You can do it! Cant wait to come to your store one day! My guess is youll lose 10lbs
Good luck losing weight Rick. Your health is important more than anything, I became sober (alcohol free) from 15/05/2005 and quit smoking cigarettes from the 31/08/2018. This has saved me so much money to concentrate on video games (I have PS2, PS3, PSP and NDS which I love them all) Love your videos.
Now "retired" 25 year retail computer/service store company owner here. Man the number of 108 hour weeks I put in, time away from family, etc was brutal. So many nights I went to sleep on bubblewrap under the workbench at 5:30am too tired to drive home and would wash up with those industrial c-fold paper towels in the bathroom at work to open up the store at 9am. (don't worry, I did get smart enough to keep fresh clothes and deodorant in my office) Unable to take time off because so many people depending on you, and always 2 weeks behind on the never ending deluge of urgent repairs coming in. Drinking 8 Mt. Dews a day to stay awake got me up to 311 lbs with A1C of 13.8. Also, glad you have a shipping scale that probably goes to 300lbs. mine only went to 150lbs and an employee weighed himself on it and broke it. By the way, the only thing I probably would have changed is charge people more money for things, I was always too nice.
Honestly, when you bought the store I was worried. Wished success for your new career, but I knew this would be hard work. What I was not expecting was this second RUclips channel. I'm glad you did a check up, daily or worse, constant stress is no good at all. I was like this being a supervisor at work during the pandemic. Fear everywhere thinking it's the end of the world. Half the staff stayed at home while the other doing double duty, while at the same time keeping distance, washing every container/boxes etc etc. I even had to calm down a driver that picks up our parcels because he thought he was going to die young. After many months of this, it kind of ruined my body with all the stress, had to leave, recoup. Keep yourself in check. Glad to see your peers are keeping your mood positive. It's good that you are letting all of us know. Praying that you get better.
Rick, been watching your videos religiously for a while, literally the channel I've watched the most of any other. I love it, and I love your store, and you too, I suppose. As a father, one who has struggled with work/life balance in the past, I implore you to strive to find balance, especially with regard to physical health. It's just not worth it otherwise. "For my son" is not not just a joke. We've all witnessed your ability to absolutely crush what you put your mind to. You will crush this, too.
Rick is a good person and a very positive person and all of these stressors are going to break him mentally and physically at some point. No one is to blame, it’s just too much for any one person. People with this much going on at the same time have way more staff guiding the ships across all these revenue streams.
I did my own "transformation" 1.5 years ago. workout is half the "work" - eating habits are the other half. eat a little healthier - watch portion sizes and between meal snacking. you don't have nearly as much to lose as I did (I dropped 75 pounds in a year and still should lose another 10) but I suspect you can drop 6 pounds in teh first month. good luck on your journey - it is all about creating good habits
Rick you’re such a good dude! Appreciate the update, so happy Michael is gonna help ya moving forward. 😊 I kind of love that guy 👊 God is with ya homes 😎😎 P.s. I’m guess like 7 to 10 lbs and then you’re gonna cook and melt because you’ll have developed the habits 😊
You got this Rick! I used to be over 150 lbs but started exercising at the beginning of the pandemic. Ngl gain some weight back over the holidays but looking forward to getting back to a normal routine. You'll knock off those 30 lbs on no time. 💪
I need to do the same! I bought my home and have been working full time and then working on DIY so I've been eating junk and not exercising and it's caught up on me. So I'll do this with you! 😁🤘
Glad to see the paper Mario color splash wata arrived safely . Keep track of your health, it’s bad to have it go bad, I recently spent a week in the hospital and I have pains in chest , breathing issues and blood clots , it definitely makes things hard with family and everything else. Stay well my friend
I started taking my kids to the skatepark regularly, and then noticed how the 16 year olds were in better shape than me 😂 That definitely lit some kind of fire in me, and I really started progressing on my skateboard again even in my later years😅 Action sports are the best for weight loss(BMX, cycling , dirt bikes, skateboarding, inline skating,)
Its all about the diet Rick. Started at the beginning of the year measuring my food and just making healthy choices. I also stopped eating 2 hours before bedtime. Your first month i see you dropping down to 178.25!
dude, please no bad news I can't take it. Hoping for the best.. finding out all we need to do is a lifestyle change is a blessing rick. Now I want to give u a lil crap.. RETROO!! you need good habits, and don't stress yourself out. Please take care of yourself. we love you man!
I was pushing 300 at the beginning of last year I’m now down to 250.. diet is the best thing.. counting calories is what I did. A motto I lived by was eat what you want.. add what you need
Got to work on that stress brother!! Due to stress I had a stroke and heart attack at 36 years old. Now here on Monday (01/30/2024) at the age of 41 I go in to have surgery ( Single Bypass ) to correct my failing heart due to the stroke and heart attack. Stress caused all of this brother!!! Be safe, and watch your health we and your family needs you to stay around brother.
I'm no exercise expert or a doctor, but I have heard that it is more about how do you feel about your weight? Not Rick specifically, but just people in general. If someone is happy with themselves, with no medical related issues with that weight, keep on with whatever you are doing. Keep being happy and healthy. All that said, I too have some not so great habits I've developed, which has also resulted in some weight gain. I did get Ring Fit and used it 2-3 times a week for a few months, but I eventually gave up. Maybe seeing Rick transform will motivate me to get back into it. Another option, which I don't do myself and probably should, would be to watch what I eat. Currently my daily lunch at work are frozen microwaved meals. Making a sandwich would probably be healthier, but I do have a health related issue with bread, sadly. I feel ok, for the most part. The only things I'm unhappy with are I think I need to buy a size larger in pants soon and I also have a little bit of an issue bending down to tie my shoes. I need to get motivated. Oh and maybe the shop could do some sort of incentives for employee healthy life changes? Not that any of them need to or should, but everyone getting in on healthy life changes can help people stick to them.
Your weight loss truly depends on your commitment. If you're going 100% all-in with Mike, diet and exercise 5 days a week, 15-17bs. With diet and exercise 3 days a week, 10-12lbs, and with just diet and exercise when possible, 7-8lbs. Don't cut cold turkey on everything you love, you earned your cheat meals whenever you decide to do it, just do it as one meal once a week as a treat to yourself. Cutting everything out right off the rip usually ends up in failure cause you binge eat. Good luck brother, I've been watching you for years, before you had 1k. Stay focused, stay committed and results aren't instant, but they're there, you have 61k people rooting for you.
My guess is 13 lbs in a month if your are going hard on the workouts and staying on point with the diet. Most I did in a month is 16lbs but I started at 6’ 220lbs. You got this Rick!
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon little boy blue and the man on the moon , when you coming home dad I don’t know when we will get together then . You know we’ll have a good time then .
That’s what we need to see Rick doing buy some Sweatin to the Oldies with Richard Simmons and live Whatnot sales while selling some games and getting into shape. Lift those legs ladies!
Rick, from my experience the well-rounded person is a myth. You will be great at one or two things. Good at a few and bad at everything else. We all have the same amount of time in a given day. So before it is too late, choose what you want to be great at, good at and bad at. Your family and health is not worth any amount of notoriety or money. Praying for you brother.
Best thoughts and wishes! Be there for yourself, so you can continue to be there for ALL of us! Thank you. You have a wonderful Family and great crew. They are there for you too. I will dedicate my Domino's order from last night to you.
Work life balance is so important. Think of yourself as a circle, a pie chart. Think about how much of the pie you give over to.. family...friends... work...videos...etc...etc...etc... How much of the pie is left for yourself. Something has to give, to keep yourself having a purpose. If it means one video a week, a fortnight, a month whatever, your collective RUclips family will understand. Keep the real life real man.
bro I feel like I was going through the same exact stuff a few months back (and you got wayyy more on your plate than me lol). I know you'll get through it all though! ❤ I'm here if you need to talk!
100 percent intake. Diet is most important. Everything else is secondary. Your weight reduction will take care of most health issues. I once weighed 350. I now weigh 188 at 6'2". All of the medications are no longer needed. Stress is almost zero.
I think that up to a 15 pound loss in a month is a safe loss. The first thing you lose is the water weight. I am sort of in your shoes also. I did lose 22 pounds but I gained some back and my doctor wants me to exercise more. If you can do it, I can do it. You will motivate me.
I hope the best for you man! Started watching your videos not too long ago but they always catch my eye. I hope your able to find and equal balance with everything and with you starting to workout, ready to see the transformation into an 8 pack!!! Lol! Stay strong and god bless!
Your health and wellbeing are THEE most important things... Congrats on taking the bull by the horns...You can do 20 lbs in the first month easy... after that is when the challenge starts to kick in
one months time i'd say 173lbs … it all depends on the type of fitness you choose cardio is a good thing but don't neglect the advantages of weight / resistance training.. a little advice don't call your food intake dieting . dieting refers to a short stint of some food eating fad that can help you lose weight but what typically happens is once you come off the diet you gain the weight back.. if you get in the habit of calling it nutrition it will keep you in the mindset that this is a life long goal. try to meal prep and pack your lunches remember burn more calories than you intake and the weight will come off…
Nice one Rick! I commented on a previous video on how I don't know how you do it so glad your letting us know which puts that healthy pressure on to get healthier. A little health update/montage onn the back or start of each video could be good to watch and a good way to get yourself into shape knowing you have to tie some fitness snippets on to each youtube video haha. Keen to see it 👏 Family and Health most important 🙏
Hey brother. This happens to all new business owners. For the first year or so, it's all about focusing on getting things going. Wait until you're comfortable with staff and learning to trust at least one person to uphold your standards on management. Then start focusing on you. I love seeing your videos and they make bad days good.
Why does Micheal's voice sound so much like David Spade? Or is it just me? Rick, Don't forget fitness boxing for switch too... and break out the NES track and field with the power pad. Rick will Drop 8lbs next month.
7.5 lbs! I’m trying to get healthy myself. Haven’t been eating well and mental health declines when I am unhealthy or lacking exercise!!! Get well, dude!
Nice, a Gaming Gains Channel, I am thinking 7 in the first month. All the Best. Inspiring the subs to join in as well if they got health issues to improve on
“Kids, at age 12, I weighed 319 pounds. I had bad skin, low self-esteem, and no self-respect. Now, I eat success for breakfast, with skim milk.” - Tony Perkis
Man I care about you. Get the health in check bro. I am rooting for you. TBH you don't look any heavier to me. You look good, but looks can be deceiving lol So get going with some good and healthy habits. You got this Retro Rick. 😊
Rick should be able to lose at least 8lbs in the first month. Reduce your calorie intake and increase your physical output. Just don't cut down too much of your intake or else it can tire you out, discourage or lead to binge eating. Slow and steady wins the race. I'm rooting for you Rick!
healthiest 2 habits you can do, 1)make daily alone time for wife, "When you're not tired" without her... All this doesn't matters. 2) Go home at a fixed time everyday and be done for the day regardless...
I think you’ll lose 15(maybe more) lbs if you work on it hard enough. The initial weight comes off so easily, because of the shock to your system. After that, if you’re just trying to get down to your weight a year ago, it’ll probably take another couple months, maybe three to take the next 15 lbs or so off. This is my official prediction. I think the video game centric idea is a really fun idea too. Almost like a review/test to see how well these games work. I love it.
Honestly i think you look good man. I wouldn't gain anymore tho lol And bro definitely make sure to take time for yourself and the fam thats very important I get that. And you'll definitely lose more than 15pounds if you really go at it the first month. Thanks for all you do man but definitely do what you need to do to make yourself happy mentally physically and all the above 😊
Sounds like you need to get yourself a SNES Exertainment bike!! lol Rick you’re awesome and we’re here for whatever the content is that you want to put out, and I think you ought to let some of your employees have a crack at making videos too, it would be cool to see them doing stuff you do and you can guide them in how to do it and then they can put their own spin on things! If you need to take time off from here for yourself then go for it, you’ve got plenty of great content uploaded already, I’ve been going back through the $10 game collection videos lately and it’s been cool to see again how you got all that stuff! Anyway, focus on yourself and your family and the rest will be take care of itself!
I lost 30 lbs in 2 months. Carnivore diet (plus a little fruit). Dry fasting has also helped me lose weight quickly. Although might not be ideal since you work heavy hours. Appreciate your content dude! Get healthy
i tell you a great indoor workout for winter besides going to the gym... VIRTUAL REALITY. Imma tell you, its constant movement, standing, moving arms and legs around.. good for circulation and just burning calories.. Second, you just gotta stop eating big portions, and miss a meal so your stomach can go back down in size so THEN you get full easier, thus saving yourself money and unhealthy calories. The trick is to get your stomach to go down in size, and stay moving around which is hard for a lot of people in winter.
Body recomp is your best friend, aim for 100G of lean protein everyday, reduce carb intake and do one hour of weight lifting in a 3-4 day schedule weekly and the weight will fall right off in a year.
Whatever you're going through rick , just please know that alot of us are struggling and look to you to enlighten our day . Just lost my wife and kids to alcoholism and I'm at rock bottom . You've been a great light to the world ! Do what's best for either way we all have love for you !!
Stay strong my brother
So sorry for your loss, sending comfort and healing thoughts ❤️❤️

If you have admitted it my dude that's half the battle. Sorry to hear you are going through it but you can turn it around ❤
i crushed 2 families due to my same issue. so worse has been done. by the grace of a god i was afraid to believe in, i have 132 months sober and have built the castle back up since. that is quite a few moons if you are doing the math...

Soda and carbs are the worst in my experience
@Fla5thgenTryMe Those are definitely bad!!! All about the diet

Hell yeah Rick, you can get fit. You'll feel better, sleep better, lower your bp. Its gonna be good.

Love you, Rick. Best of luck with all the changes you're making. You got this, my dude
Please take care man; you have a family who depends on you and an awesome incredibly job selling nostalgia to many people.
Rick you’re such a good dude! Appreciate the update, so happy Michael is gonna help ya moving forward. 😊 I kind of love that guy 👊 God is with ya homes 😎😎
P.s. I’m guess like 7 to 10 lbs and then you’re gonna cook and melt because you’ll have developed the habits 😊
You’re trying to balance so much at once.just take time to get things into perspective and we’ll still be here.
And yet, I don’t feel one bit sorry for you. Funny how that works out.
You got this Rick! I used to be over 150 lbs but started exercising at the beginning of the pandemic. Ngl gain some weight back over the holidays but looking forward to getting back to a normal routine. You'll knock off those 30 lbs on no time. 💪
Good for you bro, can really relate to the work/life balance challenge. Good luck man, go smash it!
I live in MD. Too bad, I can't drive out and support your store.
I need to do the same! I bought my home and have been working full time and then working on DIY so I've been eating junk and not exercising and it's caught up on me. So I'll do this with you! 😁🤘
Same thing happened to me in January last year…I fixed all my numbers and lost 65 lbs…I’d love to give you the plan that I was given
I have been a fan since the beginning brother and you have come along way. You got this Rick!! Take care of your self and your family.
Glad to see the paper Mario color splash wata arrived safely . Keep track of your health, it’s bad to have it go bad, I recently spent a week in the hospital and I have pains in chest , breathing issues and blood clots , it definitely makes things hard with family and everything else. Stay well my friend
I started taking my kids to the skatepark regularly, and then noticed how the 16 year olds were in better shape than me 😂
That definitely lit some kind of fire in me, and I really started progressing on my skateboard again even in my later years😅
Action sports are the best for weight loss(BMX, cycling , dirt bikes, skateboarding, inline skating,)
I hope you feel better soon! And remember, NEVER STOP TAKINGCAREOFYOURSELF!
Rick I LOVE this, I just got married this past Sunday and I am looking to do the same thing! Can't wait to follow along, hope you give some good tips!
Rick, don’t burn out my friend. It’s too much for one person. 🙏
Hang in there man. You’re doing a good job. You can only do what you can do.
That’s what we need to see Rick doing buy some Sweatin to the Oldies with Richard Simmons and live Whatnot sales while selling some games and getting into shape. Lift those legs ladies!
Rick you’re all good bro, focus on whatever makes you happy! Hope to see you in the store some other time!
He missed the jump into the warp zone 😔
I'd say 12lbs - 15lbs in 30 days is achievable without going overboard.
You got this!
Great to see a shout out to the Retro Ghetto 👏 👍 go watch his videos the dudes enthusiasm is contagious
It seems like you never get to rest lol, but do what you gotta do we support you 😊
Best thoughts and wishes! Be there for yourself, so you can continue to be there for ALL of us! Thank you. You have a wonderful Family and great crew. They are there for you too. I will dedicate my Domino's order from last night to you.
As a small business owner people don’t see what all one gives into the business growing and I’m talking about years not months or weeks!
You will motivate me.
goodluck on your journey to better health man we all support you !!! 👍
Welcome to the club, homie! I’m 25lbs up and enough is enough. 🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼
Congrats on taking the bull by the horns...You can do 20 lbs in the first month easy... after that is when the challenge starts to kick in
An ad popped up right before Rick's weight confirmation :PP perfect timing for the suspense
one months time i'd say 173lbs … it all depends on the type of fitness you choose cardio is a good thing but don't neglect the advantages of weight / resistance training.. a little advice don't call your food intake dieting . dieting refers to a short stint of some food eating fad that can help you lose weight but what typically happens is once you come off the diet you gain the weight back.. if you get in the habit of calling it nutrition it will keep you in the mindset that this is a life long goal. try to meal prep and pack your lunches remember burn more calories than you intake and the weight will come off…
Nice one Rick!
You got this ! the hardest part is saying that you know that thingd need to change that 1st big step ,
I welcome Retro Rick's Retro Shredded Tutorial Arnold Schwarzenegger style!
You've got this I believe in you! 💜😄
Hey brother. This happens to all new business owners. For the first year or so, it's all about focusing on getting things going. Wait until you're comfortable with staff and learning to trust at least one person to uphold your standards on management. Then start focusing on you. I love seeing your videos and they make bad days good.
Glad to hear it Rick. Get back in shape boy!
If you need a break from RUclips, we understand health is the most important thing and family
Now, I eat success for breakfast, with skim milk.”
- Tony Perkis
Man I care about you. Get the health in check bro. I am rooting for you. TBH you don't look any heavier to me. You look good, but looks can be deceiving lol So get going with some good and healthy habits. You got this Retro Rick. 😊
That Pauly shore cameo was great, he's got that Simmons gimmick down pat
More like Retro Thicc……
You got this man, if your mind is right, your body will follow
I love it.
Shout out Retro Ghetto!
crazy to see Retro Ghetto on this, I watch him all the time
3:24 Ron McDon lookin guilty AF back there
Big up the retro ghetto!!!
Love Ya Man hope you get everything on track to a healthy future
I lost 30 lbs in 2 months. Carnivore diet (plus a little fruit).
Dry fasting has also helped me lose weight quickly. Although might not be ideal since you work heavy hours.
Appreciate your content dude! Get healthy
Gotta add a DDR section to the store!! Dance competition every day with employees and customers!
i tell you a great indoor workout for winter besides going to the gym...
Stay well my brother 🙏🏼 I say 10lbs get some golf in with no kart 😅
Body recomp is your best friend, aim for 100G of lean protein everyday, reduce carb intake and do one hour of weight lifting in a 3-4 day schedule weekly and the weight will fall right off in a year.
