    Very useful to me. Thank you. If you would ask me, i would say the tempo in which you tell it and present it in this video is too quick. To me it comes across as if you are in a hurry. A bit slower can also give you and your info more authority. I hope this helps.

    ARIANA GRANDE AND NEWJEANS HEAVEEEEEEEEN

    i have another question. obviously ariana is not in a group so she creates her harmonies all by herself, whereas in a group, the members would have to record their vocals and then combine them to make a harmony. so in arianas case, does she record her vocals multiple times to create a harmony even if it’s just the same note, or does she just reuse that specific vocal to make a harmony?

    • @AlinaSmith
      @AlinaSmith  7 месяцев назад +2

      Good question! So, the way it works for most artists is that all harmonies are performed by them unless they're going for a very specific processed sound (genres like hyperpop might be good examples.) In those genres, you can just take melodies and create copies, which are pitch-shifted into a harmonic part. But with genres like pop/R&B, all the harmonies are naturally recorded, and oftentimes, with artists like Ariana, they're doubled and sometimes even quadrupled. So, let's say you have a simple 4-part harmony: C, E, G and Bb. Usually, pop/R&B artists would record 2 instances of each part - so 8 harmony tracks total. And if they're quadrupling, we're looking at 16 tracks for that one harmony. Which is why it's super common to see something like a hundred vocal tracks in these types of songs, to accomodate all the different harmonies and the different ways they're processed. Hope this helps!

    i have two questions and anyone can answer. how long does it take to be a good vocalist like ariana grande and question nr. 2, can anyone become a vocalist like ariana grande or do you have to be born with a certain type of vocal chords, if that makes sense. like do you have to be born with it and then basically just practice until you have it down, or can anyone get to that level (with A LOT of practice of course)?

    • @AlinaSmith
      @AlinaSmith  7 месяцев назад

      I would say that what Ariana has is a natural-born gift that very few singers could replicate. What makes her voice sound so great is not only her technique (which is something you can learn) but her tone (which is dependent on your biology - size of your chest cavity, nasal cavity, the makeup of your vocal chords etc etc). I would encourage all singers to find what is special about not only their voice but their style/delivery and work on developing those gifts. For example, for me, it's been my natural gifts with timing and rhythm, for Gisselle it's been expanding her range as a rapper, and for Elli it's been honing the unique style she performs in as an artist.

    The first step is actually being able to hit the notes. No amount of mixing and layering is going to give you Ariana Grande sounding vocals

    • @green.leafff

      lol thats obvious, and clearly this is a tutorial for people that already know how to sing

    • @Bunnybunny5656
      @Bunnybunny5656 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@green.leafff even knowing how to sing you won’t be sounding like Ariana. Plus teaching people to try and copy/mimic another artist is incredibly unoriginal and a bad way to sing.
