the lego friends designers need a raise. the sets are just getting better and better compared to the city sets. and honestly i like the colors too, otherwise my collect looks so dull

I love the colors of those plants. I can imagine those being the plants that are found in the caves of the alien planets. Maybe they have their own bioluminescense glow! Very cool!
I don't get why the City space station didn't have convertible, multi-function modules, when the idea looks so good and works so well in this set. Maybe the extra bricks and accessories would have pushed the price too high up (but the pricing isn't directly linked to the piece count).
I have to agree. The Neo Retro Space line-up across the different themes is great.

Wow, it's even better than I thought. This set is 10/10!
I’ve often been turned off by the brighter colours of Friends sets, however recently I think they’ve found a sweet spot between their unique ascetic and compatibility with other themes.
Just so people know, the height of minidolls aren't that far from minifigs so it wouldn't look that weird if you just place minifigs instead of minidolls if you hate them that much.
If you're avoiding the friends theme just because of that you are missing out!
It's wild how much better the internal space is compared to the city space stuff.

I like more the technik version It have more gadgets such as the crane and the special storage boxes and it also has a mini rover
that little hover board reminds me of the Lego Life on Mars series
Great review! The Friends theme really has a lot going for it. You can see that a lot of love and thought was put into this set. I would buy it, but I just don't like the bigger mini-doll style. However, considering the target audience, it's understandable.

My daughters love the Lego Friends sets and I admit I love some of the features and ideas used in the series, as an afoL I would never have given Friends a second glance but I am glad I have had fun with them with it.
Maybe the minidolls are different aliens visiting the Minifigures!

I think this is the best space set we’ve seen since the Galaxy Explorer revival. It looks awesome!
The mars base might have gotten my vote if the dome windows were purple. But this is just beautiful.
Friends has really come a long way, from the beginnings as Lego-built Barbie play houses to to cool, futuristic designs with its own distinctive design language,
The new colors for the ferns should be handy for MOCs!
I need Lego to release more windscreens in that lovely transparent purple. This is not a request, Lego can have all my money if they do this.

When saw these on the shelf, knew you would have to have a look! Some really nice builds in 'Friends'.
Once again Tiago you've made my Technic loving self want ANOTHER system set! I wish we had more of these trans purple elements in other theme's space sets. Smoke gray trans now looks so mediocre.

I love space sets. And friends sets tend to have THE coolest little details. I'm not surprised it's wonderful.

I have the city space rover. I now want to buy this and the smaller technic rover, and make a combo model with this cockpit, some more greys in the mix, the city space suspension layout, and the technic grey wheels

I can't believe I am living in an era where Lego Friends have wave that releases tons of good Lego sets but Lego Star Wars literally releases one or two sets for a wave and call it a day.
(Now, don't get me wrong, the new sets are good, such as the Ahsoka wave, but my main problem is that, Lego Star Wars wasn't like what it used to be before, ever since 2021, they just release 4+ sets (which I HATE) and diorama sets, and very few actual sets; I used to remember the time when they released battle packs and different variety of sets, even before 2015, now they just sell very few actual sets , I just want to be honest, I'm sorry, but its the truth for me)

Love that friends gives us great pieces in new colours, those fern pieces are going to get some serious use in alien MOCs and underwater stuff.
The astronaut dog is hilarious but the friends art style really isn't my thing which is a shame because they make a lot of cool animals, they have been killing it on builds though.
As you said the botanical garden and mansion are spectacular and are two sets I really want to get but this is a miss for me I much prefer the city rover over this. It's just a bit too stubby imo.
Great review as usual I like that you talk about the toy aspect while adults might not care I'm sure kids are watching these too.

I really like the look of this, it's very vibrant looking and packed with features. It reminds me of the Monster Burger Truck from the Creator 3-in-1 line in 2021.
The value is the only issue here; its UK price is nearly twice as expensive as the City Space Rover you showed at the end. In fact, its UK price is actually more than both the City Space sets, the Rover and the Interstellar Spaceship you displayed, put together.
So because of that, this Friends Research Rover will unfortunately need a hefty discount to justify me going for it. Especially to prevent me buying those two City sets again, both of which have already had 45% discounts, to the point where I can actually add a fleet of two more spaceships and rovers for a tiny bit more than the price of this one Friends Research Rover!
So, does this confirm that minifigs and Friends figs live in the same universe, but the Friends ones are simply from an alien planet where everyone looks like a doll? 😄

Great set, maybe one of the best. However, I do think the new base is better (it may not have all these fancy functions, however it looks nice, completes the big crane set and has such a good piece palette (4x dome pieces for a small set is great). This I will need to get for the fancy new aliens. Might get 2.

I came up with a theory about this Space lego theme collaboration (more precisely lego city x friends) because of the similarity/variance of aliens I think that city and friends on the same planet BUT each in a different part/region of the planet, for example city is in the desert part of the planet and friends in the jungle part (as an example the planet Pandora from the movie series Avatar there are also parts of the planet different and in them different species/forms of na'vi (natives) who are each adapted to a given environment

Really impressed that this new space theme encompasses so many of the Lego ranges, and in particular into the Friends range, which traditionally has been targeted at girls. There's clearly no reason space should be the preserve of boy's imagination, who typically the city/technic sets have appealed to.
If friends would retire the minidoll and replace them with minifigures, then it would be perfect
Welp, this is definitely the best set of the year, because it has Flash Gordon scooter.
I hope all windows exist in trans-black too. Friends scheme is good, however I prefe uniform color scheme and want to recolour it into CITY Space colour. However botanics looks great and implies that on this planet are more bioms then red dessert as in CITY
I think they do! The smaller one has been featured in a Speed Champions set before for sure, and the larger one must have been seen in that theme as well
Yeah ive been through my friends phase too. Because it is so good, and i was going through a dry patch, and i have toddler daughter. Its interesting.. i guess unless you identify as a girl, it doesn't stick in the long term, even though the sets are so well done. Its the color schemes i think. See.. everyone who consciously buys a friends set for themselves is awestruck by them as you are.. but have you taken them to your personal heart over time?

I just hate minidolls (overall) - but otherwise, love it, even the color scheme! if this was a minifig set, it would be a no brainer for me.
Why no one show the Friends mars base next to it ? It's the closest set to this New one as it's part of the same franchise
Yeah, should have gotten it, but it never really spiked my interest as much as the City sets for some reason
@@TiagoCatarino to have Seen it in a Lego certified shop with connected modules attached to it, it's surprisingly nice with it's opening door mechanisms and so but i have to admit that 80€ or so was a no go for me. So many Big sets to save for before they retire so sacrifices have to be made.

That is a beautiful vehicle design I wish was offered in more adult themed aesthetic.
Nice to see the "lego for girls" sets getting some actually awesome constructions, kinda begs the question why they are segregated at all

@@marlonrvlogs it's been a while since I've checked in on them so I might just be behind the times. When friends was first released it was stereotypically girl coded, glad to hear it's no longer the case :)
@@Froggsroxx Lego Friends was never girl coded there were literally male characters in the first sets in 2012 and btw Lego was never boy or girl coded a boy can play with lego Friends and a girl can play with lego City or Lego Pirates or Lego Ningago.🤨Btw Lego is literally a gender-neutral toy company.🤨
The orange mini doll looks like Peggy Hill form King of the Hill, especially when she's wearing the orange jump suit for the sky diving episode.

Overall, the Friends theme is really good. But those "minifigs" from the line are just garbage.

I’m 17 and a boy, and friends is my second favourite theme because of how great the builds are
no Lego Friends is for everyone kids, teens and adults, and Lego Friends is now gender neutral btw. And i am a 23 year old boy and i buy Lego Friends all the time i have more Lego Friends sets than Lego City sets.🤨Ps the Lego fandom doesn't need toxic masculinity.🤨
Unfortunately I found no interest in this set. The minifigs do not look like LEGO to me.

Tiago’s reasoning is harder and harder to understand. He didn’t enjoy the incredibly impressive ornithopter but praises an overpriced Lego friends set for the fact that some of the wheels can turn 😅
Much as I wanna like it, its not lego scale. Its friends toy scale. So....yeah. kinda a non starter just as a girls doll set rather than actual lego figs
