What's your favourite LEGO City Space set of the wave?!
Probly the. Pod one ..that I got a thort to chandge it. Into another build. Rest of them. I not. Interested in. I rather. Classic space .style ...I got the city. Descovery center set from few years back was good the rocket. 😊
The interstellar spaceship! I deffinetly have to get that one!! The play feature, the minifig, the ship, its perfect! Altho it has little play value compared to the ones with spaceship AND a on-planet base of a sort, it still serves as a perfect spaceship!
I will keep my eye out for the Interstellar Spaceship, definitely. Lot easier to woosh than the Galaxy Explorer :)
The interstellar spaceship. I have one but i think i'll buy 5 more. :D And too bad you don't like techic because the Space sets coming in March look awesome.
I got the whole wave, the 35-dollar Rover is the best set imo, the space station is obviously very cool too.
I'm really, REALLY impressed by coherence of the whole lineup and the apparent story behind it.
I feel like a real weirdo because I kinda want the technic ones the most
Im really impressed by the 4+ set
@@joedapoboyits ok
@@joedapoboyi want the classic one
wait until you realize its just revamped power miners and would rather have that 😭
Looking forward to part 2. Really glad they focused on playability on these sets, they all look amazing.
I've only got the Interstellar Spaceship and the Explorer Rover so far but those two sets and even the 4+ set here are definite winners and worth it. Decent builds, quite large, cool functions and a premium feel too with no stickers in those sets which is a big surprise (except for the 4+ set which always has printed pieces). You get a lot of stuff in them too, which makes them brilliant value.
I just bought a 2024 set, and noticed it had no stickers (but printed parts instead).
It seems to be a conscious move from Lego, and I love it!
The black and white space vehicles with highlights of sand blue and the new reddish orange with small hints of gold and the pearl purple color just works so well. I love these sets.
The Interstellar Spaceship is by far my favourite of the wave, it's such good value for 20€ and soooo swooshable!!!
That interstellar space ship has to be one of the best $20 sets I've seen in a long time
That 4+ set should not be overlooked just because it's a 4+ set. It is a great "Space Starter Pack" of sorts as it comes with a rather good looking ship, some resemblance of a base with a crane, a lot cool stuff like the meteorites and crystals for the crane to move around (which was severely lacking in the much bigger and much more expensive Lunar Base set), and a couple figures.
I'm surprised the set isn't much more expensive, given how much stuff it's got for a 4+ set; I dare to say its value is at least as good as, if not better than, the brilliant Interstellar Spaceship set, simply for the volume of stuff it has. It just goes to show the price per piece metric is not that reliable; you can't value a 1x1 plate at the same level as a large base piece the ship has, or the octagonal plates.
I think the Interstellar Spaceship is the best value City set we've had in years. Just phenomenal.
These are some of the best space sets they've ever done. It's like a mix of everything I expect from their space lines, rock raiders, and a tiny dash of Star Trek (with the colors for different professions) and colors that fit a more realistic look.
The 4+ Spaceship and Asteroid Discovery had the cutest little alien, and I was suprised to see so much play value come out of that set !
Wow. I might actually want to buy this theme in full. Being LEGO City subtheme isn't my favorite but seeing it mix what in my eyes is Life on Mars and Rock Raiders, I'm actually down for this
The value for these four smaller sets is so solid. Especially compared to just about any other line.
I’m so excited about that new shade of orange!
60430 (the spaceship) is an awesome set. The ship is really fun to swoosh around and I love the detail that the ship is the same shape as the ship on the classic space logo. Mine is on my desk at the moment but I might build a little stand for it or maybe even buy another and combine them.
YES! Been waiting for this. Please release part 2 soon! Thanks Tiago!
Since the volcano sets retired these have been some of my favorite!❤
Great video as always.
Im realy impressed by the lore and character honestly my favorite character is the miner piloting the mech
Finally a theme I want to collect. The only theme I've purchased in the last 4+ years is Ninjago, but I'm going to pick all of these up. Excellent review video!
Tiago, love this video review of the Space sets all together! Like you, the whole wave looked so good, I bought them all myself as well. I've been waiting for one of the Lego RUclipsrs to review them together and talk about the elements tying all the sets together. Agreed with everything you said in this first video, can't wait to see the second! I also love the interstellar spaceship, probably my favorite one was well. What I'm impressed with is how all the ships are different, all use different canopies, but all are quite good and seem like they are from a similar universe. So good!
This series is indeed great and your review just started with the best it has to offer (the small ship was love at first sight for me, the Mech is army buildable, the rover has almost everything you need in a space vehicle and the 4+ set is most likely the reason for all the great prints used around this series - also these sets, aside the mech, have only prints which I love). I really wish they could have managed only prints for the entire series, but I presume there are costs involved.
I do have a question, if you could presume: Why did they use a sticker for the 1x2 Tile in the mech set for the hazard stripes? As far as I know, there is a print for that. Is it that much more inexpensive to use a sticker, or did they just want to make the most out of the sticker sheet? Is there a design logic that dictates to have stickers if at all possible to have the piece be usable in other ways?
Great review. I agree so far with your ranking of the sets for this series. Looking forward to part 2
This reminds me a lot of the animated star com series of the 80's
Takes me back to the Mars mission sets I played with as a kid
I'm honestly blown away by the quality of those sets. It's probably the best thing to come out of Lego City in a while. I'll definetly get them
That Admiral mini is so cool. I am glad to see some non-SW space sets. MORE OF THIS! Down with Marvel, SW, Harry Potter!
I love how the different colors represent different ranks like in the classic space theme way back in the 2000s... I love the story behind it too. So cool!
I personally don't really care about these sets for myself, but I love your reviews so much I watch everything!
A cool theme! Such a cool set. As a kid I would love these! 😊
Right?! They're great!
Wow, this whole set looks amazing!
Really love the look, used to love the mission mars sets when I was younger!
Love your review! You should definitely do more Lego City sets reviews😊
It always comes down to numbers! If people watch and the views go up, I'll do more of it! I enjoyed this one regardless of the views it may get, the sets are amazing!
@@TiagoCatarino 👍
I have to limit myself to the real life space subtheme i think. Watching reviews is the most joy ill get, and some relief that i dodged a space finding bullet.
Fantastic sets my fav is space buggy explorer great review 👍
Good choice!
I like how the Interstellar ship and the 4+ ship have such simular designs. Gives more of a feel of consistency for the wave.
Also the Asteroid Discovery is fun to imagine the astronauts being able to jump from one asteroid to the next, like they all have low gravity.
One of my favorite one off series. Keeps making me think of the game Starfield.
That 4+ set is cool. Nice to see them finding uses of that chunky piece I first saw with a 4+ Snowspeeder.
the 4+ ship was surprisingly substantial. I was very impressed, and am tempted to pick up a second one for the figures and accessories.
I love this. The rover and interstellar spaceship are just knockout sets, great value, and super coherent designs that balance play and aesthetics perfectly. LEGO killed it with these. Can't wait to pick them up.
Been looking forward to this review. Good job on part one! 👍
If I had to buy only one it would be the 'Interstellar Spaceship', but I do feel the 'Spaceship and Asteroid Discovery' set tells the story of this series best.
Part of the story reminds me of Bravestarr. Kerium crystals could be used without being processed into batteries, but I like the difference.
It seems the polybag will be missing in this two part review? Would be nice to hear your thoughts on it later.
Color discrepancy aside for the Interstellar Spaceship, single-handedly cool set and feature.
The construction mech is such a good deal. It's a really fun set; I have two sitting on my counter right now.
Love this theme and I'll get what I can, my only complaint: no hairpieces. The interstellar spaceship and construction mech are so far awesome and I'm going for the $35 rover and $20 asteroid set soon.
I get Rock Raiders Vibes from this set 😎
I would have loved those as a kid!
Wish I was 10 years old again, cool sets. I always loved the Lego space sets back in the day.
I am so excited for the LEGO Space year!
Lego city really getting better not gonna lie
Love this line, will prolly get them all except the large rover. These are too cool.
I can't wait to see the Technic Space sets !
Love it! They look really good together as a wave. I’m now tempted to get more than what I originally planned. Damn you Tiago!? Lol
I must say, I love how Lego is slowly reintroducing their space theme again. I wasn't around for the original classic space, so I'm thrilled that these sets were released. I'm hoping that, if not later this year than next year Lego will fully introduce updated versions of the very first classic space sets, that aren't GWPs.
that reminds me so much blactron ! :D love them !
As a space fan, I am super happy for this.
I've always been a sucker for the space sets.
I'd totally buy all of these (and the thematically linked Technic sets), if I had any money!
The minerals make me want rock raiders back, so much nostalgia for this
Didn’t even know this wave existed until tonight when I saw the interstellar spaceship at Walmart. I saw the price at $20 and just threw it in the cart without hesitation. Probably one of the best valued sets in a long while
Solid pick!
I didn’t even pay attention to these sets before, but now I want them very badly, even though I just bought all the fire brigade sets, a few police sets, a Star Wars battle pack, a Creator 3 in 1 astronaut, and the burger truck!
The roller coaster track is also really helpful because it allows mini figs to grab on if they were outside in space
Those gold and black shocks look gorgeous, I might have to pick up a set just for those! Also it's a bummer only the 4+ set has that variant of alien, it's adorable!
Ok the thrusters on the $20 ship opening when pressing the battery back put a huge grin on my face
The space wave is awesome, Lego designers did a good job
The upcoming technic space sets are even better
You are not geeking out too much, the little ‘extra thrust’ switch is a genius little play feature! Simple, has a storytelling layer, and it doesn’t compromise other elements of play. 10/10 filled me with childish glee
awesome review, like you said its not about the pieces its about the amount of plastic you are getting.
This year's space is fantastic the way its on all teams
i tend to stay away from the lego city line because they just arent the types of builds i tend to enjoy but holy cow all these sets are amazing! ill definitely be grabbing a couple of them myself because they knocked it out of the park with these
Wow, these sets are pretty cool. And for not much money, you can get dang near a whole space setup going with tons of play features.
This really reminds me of older lines like Rock Raider and Ice Planet in all the right ways.
Cool, themed outfits, sweet vehicles and a really cohesive look.
The only thing I don't understand is why this lives under the Lego City umbrella.
this new sub-theme is great! I love the different minifig jobs! I love the little alien bits of terrain, I just wish the aliens themselves were more like Life on Mars with their own vehicles and stuff. Though at that point it would be more like its own theme I guess
4:09 "Massive Lego Chunky Piece", or 'MLCP'... glad to hear from a Lego expert that I've been using that term correctly all along 😉😂
I love how this feels like the culmination of all previous space themes
Lego did a great job with this series. Love all the implied lore; it really gets the imagination going. I'm hoping Lego doesn't spin this into a TV show. I think that would narrow the storytelling possibilities rather than widen them.
But I have to point out - has Lego set up a "humans rob aliens of their natural materials" dilemma here?
It definitely is humans stealing aliens materials, except unlike Mars Mission they’re not at war
I enjoyed this video way WAY more than I thought I would and now I am a bit interested of buyin this all for my nephew and building it with him.
I recommend them all!
I'm going to need a video game focused on this theme. Getting some Rock Raider vibes with the crystals and I'm here for it.
I’d like to see someone mod these sets for the classic LEGO Space themes. The Command River and Crane Loader gives me major Mega Core Magnetizer from M-Tron vibes.
I just bought them all recently, we had the same favorites 🙂
wow that spaceship engine! so cool. along with the new ornithopter's play figure, im very glad lego is putting more play into the models now. kid in me is going "woosh woosh" already
same opinions. waiting for part 2!
This space set feel like good value
I really hope taigo does a review for the technic space sets. They look amazing and taigos review style would show the absolute best of the sets
I might do the planets one!
I love how the Space banner on the side of the box crosses over into other themes like Dreamzzz and Friends
Wow, this is peak lego. Hope this does really well.
This sub-theme is no 80-90’s Space (and not saying just for nostalgia like those themes are genuinely better and more creative)
But I think this is the right direction that i’m glad they’re taking. Can’t wait to see what they have to offer in the future
I love the different colors for the different roles of the crew. It might seem like a minor thing for an adult, but as a kid I LOVED that kind of thing and it did a ton for me in terms of coming up with play scenarios. On top of that a new set releasing with a new color would really excite me. Maybe we'll see a medical crew with white or teal or something. It leaves so much room for expansion. And we don't even have a Blacktron equivalent yet!
I'm not sure how I feel about the crystal molds though. I remember having a ton of fun playing with that exact mold in the Aquanauts theme, but I feel like such a big release warrants something new. I don't suppose any kid would care about that though, and maybe the two items are related somehow in the Lego universe.
i got the Interstellar Spaceship from this line, very nice little set that looks great. i did however do some very light modifications to fit the drone/flight unit on top since it annoyed me that there was no way to mount it or store it from the official build. and it was very easy ot do with pieces in the set luckily
Great Interstellar Spaceship. Perfect 20 for aero and function. I wish there were also Star Wars ships for this ratio (e.g. A-Wing for 20, TIE for 30, X-Wing for 40, etc.)
You mean the micro-fighters? ☠️
There was a $50 X wing and $40 tie fighter in 2022. That’s only $10 more than you proposed. So yes, they do make them.
I don't see the FRIENDS or DUPLO Space sets there 😆 Also, I would love to see Canadian prices on your videos, that cool spaceship is $25 and construction guy is $14 here
As a retro Space fan, I wish they kept close to the blue/gray aestetic. I like the Interstellar Spaceship.
Neah, I'm more excited by the technics version :)
As much as I am excited and a fan already of this new space series, I must say that I don't think LEGO has yet (in my opinion) made a better space theme than mars mission yet. Mars mission to me was the gold era for space style sets. And not to mention how cool the dark transparent green aliens looked as well as the mars orange style vehicles.
I do love this series too I'll give it that, but mars mission was special to me. At least i wish this series made darker more dangerous looking aliens rather than cute suid baby aliens lol
Oohhh yeahhhh buddyyyyyy
W Lego 👏🏼🔥💯
I usually pass on city these days, but this space wave might be an exception.
I will probably get the little spaceship set because of the display options
As as afol, the 10 year old me -> I want it all
This feels to me as successors of the 1990 space team sets, like ice planet and rock raiders
when is part 2 coming out... so I have something to look forward to🤩
Tomorrow!
Amazing... Me and my brother just bought 3 lego sets from this theme (miner, jet, vehicle explorer) amazing sets me and my brother are loving them and we cant wait for another😅🔥
The orange suits remind me of the Backstreet Boys' "Larger Than Life" music video. 😅
06:43 the ship is nice, but really I think there should’ve been four of those opening engine pieces not three. And it needs more detail on the underside- landing gear, manoeuvring thrusters etc.
you should do retro reviews
space explorer rover reminds me of the mako rover from mass effect
