Yes I am a ex JW I used to be so strongly indoctrinated. But I catch myself asking myself what if they are right. But once I look at the bigger picture, I know they are not ❤
It takes a high level of critical thinking to be able to see things as you do. Don’t be discouraged by all the contrary comments. JWs have to justify their fears, their passivity, their willingness to be enslaved and deceived to themselves and they do so by criticizing others. People are free to believe what they choose. I don't know of any religion that is perfect because they are created by man. I honestly don't know exactly how I feel about these people but I admire them for their work as ambassadors for their belief. In some ways I think I have always had a place in my heart for them. The ones that I know are wonderful people.

I agree 100% with you. I don't want to worship a God that was all for ethnic cleansing and the murder of innocent men, women, and children who were just living their lives. Flash forward, I wouldn't want to be the beneficiary of a beautiful house on the water in a serene setting for all eternity at the expense of 8.5 Billion lives in the greatest slaughter in the history of the universe. It always bothered me that so many JW's had no problem, and actually smile, with the thought of living forever as everyone else on earth dies, so long as they get their paradise - truly disgusting. Money even causes JW to suddenly find the right Bible passages (which of course have always been there) in order to change the principle of "shunning."

I have been out for over ten years, but what the Bible was urging the Israelites to do regarding the scriptures cited and your conclusion that life in the new world or system-you know the terms we used 🙂-you are satisfied with "Living one lifetime" here in this demoralized world! Wow, that shows a lack of maturity and spiritual growth. I was in for forty years, but I have grown so much spiritually and developed so much more emotionally. @@timnicholas1832 Thanks. Although I have been out for over ten years, I have been at the meetings and conventions on some level. The one thing I have learned clearly is that Jehovah doesn't leave his sheep as long as there is an effort to stay connected to him.

I recently had this discussion with my brother. He was saying how King David was imperfect and made mistakes, but he was still still chosen by God. To that I replied, so does that mean that all religions of Christendom could be God's channel and they are just imperfect and make mistakes? Of course he felt that this was an unfair comparison. 😂

I left the JW cult before I ever questioned their practices because I figured I must be one of those ppl who does not belong. Now that I have thought objectively about things and realized how harmful their beliefs are I’m also convinced that they do not worship a loving god. Like Neil Degrasse Tyson said roughly: god is not all powerful or not all good. If god is our heavenly father why does he allow suffering when he can take it all away in an instant? No normal, loving parent would allow their child to suffer on purpose. All this to say if JWs are right, I will happily be smite down because I refuse to worship a god like Jehovah.

I have the answer for you. None. Find a religion that doesn't pay attention to politics and doesn't vote or get involved and will never go to war to help any government. Have you tried? The answer is none. God either touches your heart or he doesn't. If he did it means you were blessed to be in touch with the Creator. Imperfect people are everywhere but the teachings are perfect and pretty simple. He doesn't ask for much but one thing for sure the truth isn't for the weak and I say this with all due respect. Most people find what the world offers to be a lot more beneficial so go figure. I am part of the ones that say yes it's hard to be a Jehovah's witness today when so attracted to it but that doesn't make the organization so terrible like most are trying to paint it. After I left the Org I asked a business associate/ friend who had also left(years before I did) if he ever wondered if Watchtower might possibly be right. His answer was yes he had. And then he said that after thinking about it he came up with ‘if Watchtower is right that one day the world will only be populated by Jehovah’s Witnesses then I’d rather be dead’. So that makes at least 3 of us😁
I have a question that burns within me. I first studied in 1972 but eventually got baptized in 1977. I was convinced it was The Truth. I have special pioneered, moved countries and travelled the world with it. I've established congregations in served in different lands. Every country I visited I preached in it. I have studies with over 100 that became JW's themselves. I had my moments of doubt particularly as WT Study conductor in 1995 with the change in the generation. Then 2015 with David Splanes nonsensical change. My question is. Was this ever the Truth when I first became a JW and at some point has the gb has turned apostate? Or was it always a lie? This plagues me.

It’s been proven that all religions are made up. There’s no real evidence of the supernatural. Only things that we interpret as such and add “agency” Two things that should be explained as other things such as psychological phenomenon, physiological things, natural occurrences in nature, etc. Evolution of religion is something people should look into. Overtime humans adopted different ideas to explain the unexplainable.
I reasoned it somewhat similarly. These people are so unloving, so quick to judge and slow to forgive. The exact opposite of what i read in the Bible. They're so superficial shallow and cruel i thought to myself i cant atand being around them for a day am i supposed to want to be around them for an eternity..? Now THAT sounds like hell.
WHAT IF JW's are right about Armageddon...and WHAT IF Jehovah sent an Angel to mercifully guide you and your family out the danger zone? I'm not so sure anyone, even hardened apostates would refuse such help. I am not an active witness but I have always said that IF the Governing Body WERE TRULY appointed by God in 1919 as God's only channel of communication, then we should listen to them....whilst also allowing our own conscience to guide us.

I think the Israelites probably practiced their religion differently from place to place and from time period to time period. I think much of the violence in the Old Testament probably didn't happen, and some of it may have. Idol worship is probably the least offensive thing that they could've did. Praying to a foreign deity other than Yahweh? That's not the worst thing I think a person could do. Incoporating certain child sacrifice rituals from the surrounding cultures definitely wouldn't have been a good idea in my opinon, but they already had native child sacrifice riturals incoporated into the Yahwistic cult, such as the sacrifice of firstborn children, firstborn animals and firstfruits (and at that time, a child dying at a very young age was not uncommon, possibly due to unexpected health problems, which might help explain why the Israelites had a bit of an obsession with procreational sex) -- at least they did until they decided to get rid of all child sacrifice practices from their religion entirely and began to speak out against the practice in general. Yahweh, at least in the Bible, commands ethnic, cultural and religious cleansing. The Israelites in these stories had no choice but to obey because if they had refused, then they would have been killed by Yahweh for not following his orders. In real life, if any of this did happen, the Israelites probably believed that their deity was backing them and though that what they did was morally justifiable because they believed their God had commanded them to do these things -- and to them, God can't ever be wrong when he asks you to do something, right? Because he is always just, always knows what's best for you and is always fair, right? But they were also probably a bit too chickenshit to not carry out such actions because they feared becoming victims of divine wrath if they didn't comply with what they thought he wanted them to do. Some people do weird-ass things in the name of God and religion, even some morally questionable things.
Their god is Satan! Jesus said the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. Take comfort in Jesus’s example and message, who said that these things must happen, but don’t be afraid! And don’t for a second think that Satan isn’t smart enough to have influenced the bible record and those who wrote some of those books! People underestimate Satan, thinking they are smarter and protected! Sorry, but that’s just not true. Religion is not the way! If I, in all my imperfection, can think the smartest way to turn people against god is to form religions, then just know he’s way smarter! Stay true to Jesus’s message, love, love and more love!
Whether JWs are right or wrong, i feel like the argument here given is based on or can be used against any religion who puts faith in the Bible. Reading pasaages like the ones cited always make me question why God allowed and even demanded things to happen the way they did.
What if - all religions and doctrines made by men are not wanted or needed at all by our all loving creator and God? - what if religions are only like crutches for most people here on earth? - they use them because they do not know any better - but after death they will find out that religions were all only men made and GOD is source of love and light until eternity. I think some of the bible maybe correct . It may contain some historical facts, but the reat is just a collection of fables .. There maybe intelligence out there, but I certainly don't think there is a " loving" God . We have to find our own way to live happily .
I came to the same conclusion. Moreover, I came to the conclusion that if people throughout history were primitive and evil, so were their gods. Nowadays, people view morality differently, and so do their gods. In conclusion, it seems that humans created gods in their image, not the other way round...

We don’t know the full extent of those “wicked” events you speak about, and nor do we see the bigger picture, back then or in the future - He can take lives, but He can also give life back. To your point about giving your children life - you and your wife didn’t give them life - you enabled life through a complex pathway - you were given the gift of enabling life. You have no clue about giving life. Many of your points about Watchtower are valid, but the ones about God are seriously flawed. All leaders are imperfect, this is true. However the JWs use their imperfection as an excuse for things they won't change. We all do wrong, but not the things JWs do. We have free will and when we realise our behaviour is wrong or hurtful we should make the effort to change. And if imperfection is an excuse then shouldn't it be an excuse for other religions too? The entire New Testament is counterfeit scripture, so this is not meaningful premise. 1) The messiah must be a patrilineal descendent of King David; born of a virgin - if true - disqualifies. If not born of a virgin, NT is proved unreliable. 2) God abhors human sacrifice. Furthermore, the sacrificed animal must be a kosher animal, and human anatomy doesn't qualify for kosher. 3) There is no backing for the idea of a second coming that predates the NT. Rather, it is an admission of a failure of Jesus to deliver the messianic goods. 4) He did not bring world peace! There are constant conflict and wars to this day. That ends in the Messianic Age!

I was all on board with you UNTIL this video. The JW’s have a lot of things wrong with them and their theology (especially on the prophetical side of the house), however, I believe that the BASICS are correct. If Jehovah says that something must happen, then it must happen. The Sovereign God of the Universe is allowed to make the rules.
I think the correct question would be what if the Witnesses were right about certain things? They cant be right with their track record. You still will have to enter Heaven as a child (a beginner) and being a JW doesn't lean the scales in your favor. Now from a living perspective its not worth being a JW your whole life when you only get one bite of the apple of life.

Ah... While I admit that the New World Translation is wrongly translated and leaves its readers with a lot of false doctrine, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Rejecting God because you don't like the marching orders that He gave to the Israelites is going too far. While we may not understand why God acts the way He does, we do have to assume that it is right and just for Him to do so. The Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong about a lot of things. Jesus IS God. The Holy Spirit is a person, not a "Force", and He is also God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one God in three persons. Hell is a real place. Souls continue to exist even after a person dies. We know this because Yahweh is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Since He IS their God, that means that even though their bodies have died, their souls live on. I could go on, but you get the point. The NWT is a corruption of the Bible, not a translation. Even so, they are not wrong on EVERY point. Yahweh did destroy the world with a flood. He did destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. He did destroy Pharaoh's army when they pursued Israel into the Red Sea. He did tell the Israelites to drive out and destroy the Canaanites from the land that He had promised to Abraham and his descendants. Likewise, after many years of wickedness and idolatry on the part of the Israelites, He chose Assyria and Babylon to drive Israel out of Canaan and into exile for a time. God is just, and His punishments are just. It is important to remember, though, that God does not want to punish. He wants to bless us. The reason that He sent His Son was so that we could be redeemed and restored to fellowship with Him. In the end, He intends to make a new heaven and a new earth, and to live among the redeemed in a New Jerusalem. He is a God of mercy first, and judgement last.
That's the thing about THIS religion. What THEY say goes!! In order to THINK AND BELIEVE as you do, we have to reprogram and build up from the bottom up. Our entire lives have been scripted, and to research and understand as you do( very well understanding) does not come without judgment or damnation. People are free to believe what they choose. I don't know of any religion that is perfect because they are created by man. I honestly don't know exactly how I feel about these people but I admire them for their work as ambassadors for their belief. In some ways I think I have always had a place in my heart for them. The ones that I know are wonderful people.

Often times it’s not the individuals that are the problem, bad elders notwithstanding. It’s the organization where the problem lies. Good, kind, wonderful people can still be manipulated and in most cases they’re easier to manipulate. I agree 100% with you. I don't want to worship a God that was all for ethnic cleansing and the murder of innocent men, women, and children who were just living their lives. Flash forward, I wouldn't want to be the beneficiary of a beautiful house on the water in a serene setting for all eternity at the expense of 8.5 Billion lives in the greatest slaughter in the history of the universe. It always bothered me that so many JW's had no problem, and actually smile, with the thought of living forever as everyone else on earth dies, so long as they get their paradise - truly disgusting. Give me a life to live and I will live it my best way possible, and then come what may.

That is judgement from God. God even sacrificed His own son to save the world. God is sovereign, and is in complete control, but since the resurrection of Christ, He has told everyone who belongs to Him to listen to, and obey Christ. This is the only way to salvation.(Acts 4:11,12) JW’s do have the devil as their father, but of coarse they are not alone. Some have left and now serve God in Spirit and Truth.

I have been out for over ten years, but what the Bible was urging the Israelites to do regarding the scriptures cited and your conclusion that life in the new world or system-you know the terms we used 🙂-you are satisfied with "Living one lifetime" here in this demoralized world! @@timnicholas1832 Thanks. Although I have been out for over ten years, I have been at the meetings and conventions on some level. The one thing I have learned clearly is that Jehovah doesn't leave his sheep as long as there is an effort to stay connected to him.

I recently had this discussion with my brother. He was saying how King David was imperfect and made mistakes, but he was still still chosen by God. To that I replied, so does that mean that all religions of Christendom could be God's channel and they are just imperfect and make mistakes?

I left the JW cult before I ever questioned their practices because I figured I must be one of those ppl who does not belong. Now that I have thought objectively about things and realized how harmful their beliefs are I’m also convinced that they do not worship a loving god. Like Neil Degrasse Tyson said roughly: god is not all powerful or not all good. If god is our heavenly father why does he allow suffering when he can take it all away in an instant? No normal, loving parent would allow their child to suffer on purpose. All this to say if JWs are right, I will happily be smite down because I refuse to worship a god like Jehovah.

I am not a Jehovah's witness but one thing tells you so much about all religions today. Just one and very simple. It's one commandment. The Bible says you shall not kill. Yet all religions will fight and kill in his name. All religions will bless you to go kill your neighboring country. Just look at what's happening today....
Someone told me one day that no Jehovah's witness is perfect but only the teaching. God is showing you through them. Not all Jehovah's witnesses will be saved but let's just say you have better chances of survival when God's day comes....

Imperfect people are everywhere but the teachings are perfect and pretty simple. He doesn't ask for much but one thing for sure the truth isn't for the weak and I say this with all due respect. Most people find what the world offers to be a lot more beneficial so go figure. I am part of the ones that say yes it's hard to be a Jehovah's witness today when so attracted to it but that doesn't make the organization so terrible like most are trying to paint it.

After I left the Org I asked a business associate/ friend who had also left(years before I did) if he ever wondered if Watchtower might possibly be right.
His answer was yes he had. And then he said that after thinking about it he came up with ‘if Watchtower is right that one day the world will only be populated by Jehovah’s Witnesses then I’d rather be dead’.

I have a question that burns within me. I first studied in 1972 but eventually got baptized in 1977. I was convinced it was The Truth. I have special pioneered, moved countries and travelled the world with it. I've established congregations in served in different lands. Every country I visited I preached in it. I have studies with over 100 that became JW's themselves. I had my moments of doubt particularly as WT Study conductor in 1995 with the change in the generation. Then 2015 with David Splanes nonsensical change. My question is. Was this ever the Truth when I first became a JW and at some point has the gb has turned apostate? Or was it always a lie? This plagues me.

I just think now that religion and god are all a big money spinning con. We have to be loving and kind to each other that’s the whole purpose. It’s been proven that all religions are made up. There’s no real evidence of the supernatural. Only things that we interpret as such and add “agency” Two things that should be explained as other things such as psychological phenomenon, physiological things, natural occurrences in nature, etc. Evolution of religion is something people should look into. Overtime humans adopted different ideas to explain the unexplainable.

I reasoned it somewhat similarly. These people are so unloving, so quick to judge and slow to forgive. The exact opposite of what i read in the Bible. They're so superficial shallow and cruel i thought to myself i cant atand being around them for a day am i supposed to want to be around them for an eternity..?

I am not an active witness but I have always said that IF the Governing Body WERE TRULY appointed by God in 1919 as God's only channel of communication, then we should listen to them....whilst also allowing our own conscience to guide us.

I first left in the early 80s, no internet so I was just acting on my gut. I re-studies in the 90s only to confirm my gut was good. It was not until I had access to Reddit when I stopped having those nagging feelings though.
The prerequisite for having Gods approval is to be a sedevacantist Catholic until such time as God appoints a new Pope if he so wills, or takes the Papal office for Himself, it is also necessary to be obedient to Christ & to pray the Holy Rosary & the Hail Mary frequently. I think the Israelites probably practiced their religion differently from place to place and from time period to time period. I think much of the violence in the Old Testament probably didn't happen, and some of it may have. Idol worship is probably the least offensive thing that they could've did. Praying to a foreign deity other than Yahweh? That's not the worst thing I think a person could do. Incoporating certain child sacrifice rituals from the surrounding cultures definitely wouldn't have been a good idea in my opinon, but they already had native child sacrifice riturals incoporated into the Yahwistic cult, such as the sacrifice of firstborn children, firstborn animals and firstfruits (and at that time, a child dying at a very young age was not uncommon, possibly due to unexpected health problems, which might help explain why the Israelites had a bit of an obsession with procreational sex) -- at least they did until they decided to get rid of all child sacrifice practices from their religion entirely and began to speak out against the practice in general.
Yahweh, at least in the Bible, commands ethnic, cultural and religious cleansing. The Israelites in these stories had no choice but to obey because if they had refused, then they would have been killed by Yahweh for not following his orders. In real life, if any of this did happen, the Israelites probably believed that their deity was backing them and though that what they did was morally justifiable because they believed their God had commanded them to do these things -- and to them, God can't ever be wrong when he asks you to do something, right? Because he is always just, always knows what's best for you and is always fair, right? But they were also probably a bit too chickenshit to not carry out such actions because they feared becoming victims of divine wrath if they didn't comply with what they thought he wanted them to do.
Some people do weird-ass things in the name of God and religion, even some morally questionable things.

And don’t for a second think that Satan isn’t smart enough to have influenced the bible record and those who wrote some of those books! People underestimate Satan, thinking they are smarter and protected! Sorry, but that’s just not true. Religion is not the way! If I, in all my imperfection, can think the smartest way to turn people against god is to form religions, then just know he’s way smarter! Stay true to Jesus’s message, love, love and more love!
Whether JWs are right or wrong, i feel like the argument here given is based on or can be used against any religion who puts faith in the Bible. Reading pasaages like the ones cited always make me question why God allowed and even demanded things to happen the way they did.

I came to the same conclusion. Moreover, I came to the conclusion that if people throughout history were primitive and evil, so were their gods. Nowadays, people view morality differently, and so do their gods. In conclusion, it seems that humans created gods in their image, not the other way round...
Learning only the anointed can stand in “the holy place” you are directed to leave Jerusalem (Matt 24:15, anti typically the Watchtower, can be proved biblically see Temple) Jesus orders us to leave and head for the mountains (Rev 21:10 Fleshless temple) We must leave the Watchtower! We have a free pass! However finding fault with Jehovah is very problematic.

All leaders are imperfect, this is true. However the JWs use their imperfection as an excuse for things they won't change. We all do wrong, but not the things JWs do. We have free will and when we realise our behaviour is wrong or hurtful we should make the effort to change. And if imperfection is an excuse then shouldn't it be an excuse for other religions too? Jehovah God will never be wrong to punish people that disobeyed him. If someone raped a 6 years old child and killed her what would you do? If someone robbed a house and killed all the family member what would you do? Thats what these people are doing and more, as a loving God He has to protect his people. The entire New Testament is counterfeit scripture, so this is not meaningful premise.
1) The messiah must be a patrilineal descendent of King David; born of a virgin - if true - disqualifies. If not born of a virgin, NT is proved unreliable.
2) God abhors human sacrifice. Furthermore, the sacrificed animal must be a kosher animal, and human anatomy doesn't qualify for kosher.
3) There is no backing for the idea of a second coming that predates the NT. Rather, it is an admission of a failure of Jesus to deliver the messianic goods.
4) He did not bring world peace! There are constant conflict and wars to this day. That ends in the Messianic Age!

I was all on board with you UNTIL this video. The JW’s have a lot of things wrong with them and their theology (especially on the prophetical side of the house), however, I believe that the BASICS are correct. Ah... While I admit that the New World Translation is wrongly translated and leaves its readers with a lot of false doctrine, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Rejecting God because you don't like the marching orders that He gave to the Israelites is going too far. While we may not understand why God acts the way He does, we do have to assume that it is right and just for Him to do so.
The Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong about a lot of things. Jesus IS God. The Holy Spirit is a person, not a "Force", and He is also God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one God in three persons. Hell is a real place. Souls continue to exist even after a person dies. We know this because Yahweh is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Since He IS their God, that means that even though their bodies have died, their souls live on. I could go on, but you get the point. The NWT is a corruption of the Bible, not a translation.
Even so, they are not wrong on EVERY point. Yahweh did destroy the world with a flood. He did destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. He did destroy Pharaoh's army when they pursued Israel into the Red Sea. He did tell the Israelites to drive out and destroy the Canaanites from the land that He had promised to Abraham and his descendants. Likewise, after many years of wickedness and idolatry on the part of the Israelites, He chose Assyria and Babylon to drive Israel out of Canaan and into exile for a time. God is just, and His punishments are just.
It is important to remember, though, that God does not want to punish. He wants to bless us. The reason that He sent His Son was so that we could be redeemed and restored to fellowship with Him. In the end, He intends to make a new heaven and a new earth, and to live among the redeemed in a New Jerusalem. He is a God of mercy first, and judgement last.
That's the thing about THIS religion. What THEY say goes!! In order to THINK AND BELIEVE as you do, we have to reprogram and build up from the bottom up. Our entire lives have been scripted, and to research and understand as you do( very well understanding) does not come without judgment or damnation. He's getting his emotions out and as time goes on things will prosper for him and others who left. Understand, it may SOUND absurd, but imagine being in this CULT. It f*ks up our entire life. Give him grace❤
