- In this third video of the series we cover all the major mechanical connections of the engine to car. These include:
Fuel system
Radiator and heater
Speedometer cable
Throttle cable
Intake and airflow meter
Header and exhaust
And a few others
The 4th and last video will cover all electrical connections. Please comment below if we have missed anything and you would like to see it covered in the last video. - Развлечения
Very nice and clean! Great tutorial for the folks looking to do a beams swap! Great job John!
Thanks for watching
Great stuff as always, thanks for the videos!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for your videos and attention to details with all your products. Keep it up !
Thanks for watching 👍
Super clean install and very informative. Appreciate the detail!
Thanks for watching
This is going to be awesome for when I actually start my beams swap lol. Thanks John!!
I got you fam 👊
Amazing tutorials. Thanks!! Looking forward to install your parts in my Beams Celica
Thanks for watching
Great video series for a small channel (currently). I love the content and attention to details!
Thanks so much for watching
Good info here man. !! Thanks
Thanks for watching
Nice work
Nice info john…looking forward for my engine swap.
Good luck with yours 👍
@@johnrussakoff waiting some parts for you are back order..
message me if all convertion kits are available.
Life goal met fist post on a RUclips video 👍lol thanks Mr JSP for making quality content 👍
😂 thanks for the comment
Man.. that's nice.
Thank you
Nice sir from malaysia
Thanks for watching
When is the last part coming out ❤️ great videos. My fiancé just got her 3sge and will be following your videos to complete the swap. What wiring harness that is needed would be sweet and how to adapt it to the factory harness would be great to see
Still working on the last video. Been having trouble connecting to the obd2 port and want to make sure I have it all sorted before I post.
These videos are great and very helpful. I’ve been collecting parts for my beams swap and these detailed videos will be a huge time saver and help with identifying parts I still need. I have a panic wiring harness with Link ecu for mine. Are you going to use the beams ecu since you are keeping the MAF?
Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome video! Could you do the K24 Swap in an AE86 next? would love to see that too!
Unfortunately we do not have a project car here getting a k24 engine. Luckily there is lots of RUclips content on k swaps 👍
Hello, awesome videos... are you still working on part 3b?
Hi John! Does this HKS intake has something like a cell inside to calm the airflow before the MAF?
The inlet of the maf housing has a tapered entry that directs air towards the meter. Similar to the factory air box. We have not had any issues with this design so far. Engine runs smoothly and idles solid.
Great video! I just curious where you located the ECU and fuse boxes?
The ecu is mounted in the factory AE86 location. This requires flipping the harness around and extending a few plugs. All the wiring reuses the factory AE86 fuse box and relays.
Are you running a stock ECU? if so, can you go over all the sensors, wiring, connections and possibly the modifications needed?
Yes, stock ecu. The next video will cover the electrical connections👍
The 1/2" hose doesn't really connect to the HKS outlet on the elbow. It sits inside the hole but doesn't seal/overlap. Did you use some kind of conversion piece?
For the header, just cut off 4age flange and the beams flange will line up exactly with the 4 tubes?
No, I recommend having a competent fabricator do this. The runners need to be ovaled, then the 2 and 3 runners need to be spread apart slightly before welding. It also requires careful fitment to get the header to fit correctly under the car. There are a few other options as well for this conversion, this is just what I found to work best for me.
i got this fuel cell am setting up on my ae86 bcuz the original tank went bad what advice can u give about an in tank pump conversion or outside pump set up
plz advice
I prefer to keep the pump in the tank. It reduces noise and also keeps it away from debri. Make sure the pump sits inside a baffle or sump to prevent fuel sloshing that causes starvation under cornering.
Is it necessary to have the breather pipe routing from the engine to the intake as is done in the kit? Or can I attach the breather pipe to the engine and leave it open at one end to vent somewhere in the engine bay? Or does it need to be routed back to the intake for increased suction? Thank you!
Because the engine uses an air flow sensor, the breather needs to reroute back to the intake. If you want to route it to a catch can, you’ll need to route the van back to the intake as well.
Wat do u think about the airflow straightener screen one can use on beams swap
Probably a good idea, definitely wouldn’t hurt to use one.
You inspired me to buy a 4age header for my swap. I bought the martelius r1. It looks like the primaries are smaller on the 4ag header..I assumer this isn't a big deal?
What is the tubing diameter on that header? This fujitsubo header is a bit over 1 5/8”.
@@johnrussakoff the same actually. 41.5mm. Looks like the factory beams manifold is 2 inches. I have seen power gains from smaller primaries on chevy small blocks on certain engines. I'm probably overthinking it
I sent you something on Facebook messenger
Where is video 3b? Great tutorial! Thx!
Still working on it, having trouble with the ecu communication through the obd2 port. Still finding a good solution.
@@johnrussakoff any luck
@@dcengineering8205 I am wondering the same... Still no 3b video...
Hi i need some advice about the external fuel pump set up
What would be the recommended size of fuel pump should be used
I don’t recommend an external pump. There’s lots of great in tank pumps that can support huge hp numbers.
@@johnrussakoff the reason am going to be using an external pump is because am using a fuel cell. My original tank is rotted out
where does one purchase an HKS filter kit
I purchased this one off eBay
2nd part pleasee ??
I’ll be releasing a wiring video later this month. But it will be a link ecu and panic wiring install.
